Excellent video . They are completely different players . Hakeem was one of the best athletes to ever play in the NBA and was a defensive terror . Jokic has a deep bag of tricks and he sees the floor like no-one else . I'd say it's a toss up . .
When individuals compare Jokic to others, they often do so in a one-on-one context. However, Jokic operates within a team dynamic, playing in a five-on-five format. He utilizes his teammates in a manner reminiscent of the best point guards, while also integrating his individual scoring skills into a unique approach, resembling a hybrid player that is unprecedented in the sport. This is where misunderstandings arise in comparisons involving Jokic. While it is possible that Hakeem may excel in a one-on-one scenario, basketball is fundamentally a team sport that relies on collaboration to achieve victory. Over the past 30 years, no player has demonstrated a greater ability to elevate and engage teammates than Jokic. As LeBron James noted in an interview, there are exceptional one-on-one players, but true excellence in basketball also requires intelligence and a high basketball IQ, especially in critical moments when facing double teams. With Jokic on the court, constant awareness is essential. Whether he is driving the ball or positioned at the three-point line, he presents a scoring threat from all areas of the floor, distinguishing him from traditional centers who typically focus their efforts in the post.
