Dan is great at closing that distance between powerlifter and bodybuilder. Keeping lean and with that amount of sheer strength, really great for powerlifting.
As someone who will probably never be an elite power lifter, I think Animal is smart to post videos of daily sessions, warm ups, etc. I love watching dudes smash PRs, but the reality is, that’s the finished product after months of hard work, discipline and extreme attention to detail in programming, recovery and nutrition. Mad props!
Reason why he's my favourite powerlifter, could probably win a bb show if he entered, he's already pretty damn lean wouldn't take much to be show ready
Powerlifters, Strongman and even Oly Lifters incorporate "bodybuilding" assistance work into their training. You gotta remember, a bigger muscle has the potential to be a stronger muscle. This isn't new guys.
I learn a lot just by watching. It helps me combine all of my experiences training with everything that I've read about training. I have implemented a few things I've learned from watching Dan train in my own training and have had positive results.
It's great to see this style of training from Dan Green. It just goes to show his body was built with a combination of powerlifting and bodybuilding, not just hitting big numbers all the time. Though, I'm willing to bet those big lifts put on most of the size.
Quite edutaining as usual but especially with this one. Super setting and circuits are the goodstuff. I was thinking perhaps the final move in "45 circuit" D.G would do a hammer curl.
Great new content for Dan, I don't think I've seen a video like this of him, is this his usual training style just after a meet? More bodybuilding style? It gives a good insight into what one of the best in the world is doing all year round.
is the way he does dumbbell rows correct? I do them exactly the same way that dan does them but they told me to look forward not down for the spine or something no idea enlighten me :D
Mikey Pee Yeah, by isolating muscles that don't get fully activated from compound movements, you can maximize their development which increases how much they can contribute to a compound lift, increasing how much you can lift and the stability with which you lift a weight in a complex movement.
Interesting to see how some of the other training days are for Dan instead of just seeing his PRs and top sets, thanks for sharing.
Blessings
Animal Dan is the man! Can't wait to meet him at the USAPL meet he is directing in May.
Blessings
More vids of dan please
What a sweet video of Dan - no stupid music, just the man pounding the iron and not messing around

"Nothing heavy" - proceeds to lift dumbbells heavier then any at my gym. Strong as usual Dan

dan green is my favorite lifter by far
One of the very few powerlifters who looks like an IFBB pro....
Reason why he's my favourite powerlifter, could probably win a bb show if he entered, he's already pretty damn lean wouldn't take much to be show ready
Was just thinking that!

Dan staring at the camera when doing cable tricep pushdown is so damn badass

New aspects of training from a Powerlifter. Great job.
Very, very nice work!!!
Breathing on point
Underrated part of his lifting
Awesome video! Thanks

Wonder what's his diet like? Would be cool to see that!
This was a great work out effective a upperbody workout. Would be cool to see his UPPER/LOWER body workouts specific to his lifts like in a week.
doing all his accessory in one workout. I thought he would do rows end of deadlift workout and chest flys end of chest workout. maybe he changes it up
+animal We need full videos of Dans chest, squat and deadlift sessions!
He is ripped and very strong in his meets.

WHEN DAN DOS THE TRICEPS PUSH DOWNS HIS SHULDERS LOOKS LIKE FUCKING BASKETBALLS!! CRAZY! :D
is the way he does dumbbell rows correct? I do them exactly the same way that dan does them but they told me to look forward not down for the spine or something no idea enlighten me :D
yea I was told same when I did personal training course. I just look diagonal
Funny how a top powerlifter trains like a bodybuilder. I guess muscle mass is important. Wendler was right
Well of course muscle mass is important. Fat can't move any weight. That's a little logic for the dumb. No offence
I was being facetious. Guess that's not obvious to everyone
Mikey Pee just made it clear :)
Okay lol
