I'm so incredibly happy to learn more and more about this amazing band. Throughout the years, I only recognized the songs Dance Macabre and Rats by sound on national radio, thinking they're pretty damn good, but never picked-up on the title or band. Nor looked it up, true shame. I only researched Ghost after a string of meme videos using "Year Zero" audio, which opened the path to Ghost enlightment. When I delved into the Ghost albums, hearing the crisp and clear voice of Tobias Forge, seeing his persona on stage, the heartfelt lyrics,... for me it felt like... ascension.
Careful now, soon you’ll be one of us… Seriously, Ghost has everything. It was so fun to watch your reaction, hope you do more! For 80s vibes, give Watcher in the Sky a listen. Heavier songs are Rats, Faith (my favorite). For an epic melodic, Respite on the Spitalfields is brilliant - catch the Jack the Ripper lyrics and if you wanna dig deeper, the underlying social commentary regarding the oppressed lashing out when their dreams have been sliced and diced to pieces. Great stuff. 🖤
Yess.. this one is so fun to play, but it is in D Standard (almost all of Ghost's songs are). This one won a Grammy in 2015, which pushed Ghost into the spotlight in the US. Its a really good track, and definitely has some Metallica/Slayer vibes. Ghost get a lot of flack from the "metal" community, but Ghost has never said they are "metal", they just focus on writing great songs. Rats, Faith or Spillways should be next!
Dude, Ghost are my favourite band in the world ever. And you have the same loves as me, the 70s/80s greats, I am SO happy you’re checking them out. I couldn’t wait to see your face when the solo hit, and you nailed it. I knew you’d love this one. I hope you go through them all!
'Zenith' is another great one that's closer to this than Square Hammer / MoaC. 'Respite on the Spitalfields' is another good one like it. Maybe 'Year Zero' too. But you still can't go wrong with the fun pop-y 80s sounding songs and 'Spillways' or 'Dance Macabre' are both good shouts for that style.
Yey Ghost time again! 😀 i am so glad you nailed the title first try! 😀 The music video is inspired by the movie Carrie, and the name of this song means "Church" 😊 If I am right in the middle ages in England people said "chirche" "Cirice" or "kirke" and thats how the word "church" were born later 😄
If you want to learn how to play it you can watch James' Hetfield play it live in Metallica:s rehearsal room. Just search for it and you will find it. Cirice won the American Grammy for Best Metal Performance 2016 making Tobias the only third swedish vocalist to do so. The other two is Jussi Björling and Ann-Sofie Von Otter. Both legendary opera singers.
I have been a hardrock bassist since 1972 and i agree 100% with you! ROCK ON! 👍Greetings from Sweden
Cirice (sear reese) it's Old English for church. Ghost won a Grammy for this song.
I saw Ghost in concert last year for the first time and they're amazing.

“I can feel the thunder that’s breaking in your heart, I can see through the scars inside you.”
Amazing lyrics! Those soft parts get me emotional
This is my favorite from them. Thanks for the reaction. And the first way you said it like sir- reece
First song i really listened to and still my favorite!
Theres also a live album called Ceremony and Devotion. Good stuff too!
There's also a Soundtrack available for pre-order from the movie 🎬.

Glad you like it, I love Ghost, their songs are so fun to play in guitar too, i hope you check more of them 👌🏻
The riff, or verse James Hetfield played during practice before a concert... I rest my case! 😍
Hell yeah!! Cirice is my favorite song by them, glad you loved it.
Theres a video of James Hetfield playing this intro riff in the studio, iirc he's also wearing a Ghost shirt and he's totally loving it.

I can tell you liked it! Subbed from this video
I definitely feel Dio in it for sure.
Actually, Ghost perform everything in drop D... but there's so much melody in the heaviness it fools you into thinking it's not!
I saw a picture of Ghost last year, it was a blessing
Dude I think you’ve become my number one reaction person. You’re hilarious, love the reactions.
Thank you very much! I hope you continue to enjoy them 😁
You nailed the name first try
Can anyone else hear the “Who wants to be a Millionaire” theme in Cirice?
At 5.46

Funny you said it sounds like Metallica. There's actually a clip of Hetfield playing that riff during practice and I believe its one of his fav bands.
80's Metallica, Ghost does a cover of Enter Sandman.
