I just celebrated 5 months clean last Saturday and by the grace of God and people in the rooms of NA/AA I am still going strong. Thank you for sharing and exposing yourself so that we all have a chance to live free of the disease of addiction. This was a beautiful way for me to start my day
This last Tuesday was 6 months sober. Still working a program and still staying clean. NA/AA is not always the easiest way but it is a way that works (my way never worked no matter how hard I tried). I'm grateful for the program and the new life it's given me.
Im 5 months clean off of percocet and klonopin. I smoke weed now and even though im not technically sober according to the program, but i still feel happy to celebrate not using those other drugs

You are doing harm reduction: the only true form of recovery. 12 step programs are dangerous cults. I used to be addicted to meth and Crack. After 18 months clean in NA that ultimately resulted in a suicide attempt, I left. I healed what caused me to want to use all the time. After 2 years abstinent i had a beer with my Mom. It wasn't 'selfish'. It didn't trigger some fake disease demon. It was beautiful! I outgrew my addiction and reintegrated with normal life. Slowly made normal friends that aren't conditional assholes. You can too! Everyone can! Unless you continue to believe in the disease theory. Leave NA. Find other methods of support if you need it. You'll thank me later.

Lol! It's ALL about clean time. I went to this secret old-timer holiday dinner. They all tallied up their total clean time and then bet on who could guess the right number. Coffee and tobacco are mood and mind altering drugs. Soooo, none of them are clean.. The whole cult is awful.
If it's a cult then I'm glad to be a member. NA has saved my life. As for the coffee and nicotine. You can call those mood/mind altering substances if you want. I've never been so altered by coffee or nicotine that I did something I later regretted. I've never been arrested for driving after smoking too many cigarettes. When I was in active addiction I was looking for a substance that gave me an escape from reality. Coffee and cigarettes don't do that for me. When I say I'm clean the people that knew me back then or are like me.....they know what it means.
