What's amazing to me is even small nations like Latin American countries that bought defense technology from Israel like Chile and Colombia are abandoning ship. The Israeli defense sector is going to take a hit. While they may have gained Argentina as an ally it seems like Israel is going to lose a ton of defense contracts in the future.

Serious talk though; I think it's living in the 1990s when they won the cold war and had no global competition and the US had no more obligation to hold to its so called morals and human rights. I remember members of the government and senate saying stuff like "we can literally do whatever we want" and indeed that is exactly what they did in the following years.
They literally threw their weight around to get whatever they wanted. And they are still doing that even now but don't realise that it ain't 1994 but 2024. The the time for those kinds of actions is over.

We will see... Trump is a salesman. Americans keep looking for a saviour. But this trouble began in Reagan times and has continued with every President since. Remember people were so upset with Trump he was charged for impeachment. He was first to put sanctions on China and tariffs on Chinese goods which raised the prices to US consumers. He also was first US President to openly kill high ranking officer in a US sanctioned country, within a 3rd party country.
That tax cut he gave you... he also gave himself and other investors/developers a life time exemption of taxes from profits for buildings in designated areas. The opportunity to get this land continues until 2026... and with a commercial market collapse coming.... he and other developers should make another billion $$$. Also Trump seems to have a poor track record for appointing senior staff to run the branches of gov't. It was Trump who got rid of all the diplomats and now there is only war because no one is left with the expertise to negotiate. It is going to come down to Trump or Kennedy. Will Americans be so upset with the Uniparty Congress, which continues to have millions of illegal immigrants swarm the border and then send US taxpayer money overseas, that the Independents win out in a historical vote??

Shipbuilding typifies the US perfectly. US has no interest to build civilian ocean going vessels and its shipbuilding capacity is exclusively for warships used for wars, harassment hegemony. May be US wants to build merchant ships but no one can afford them.
China builds ships for civilian usage but its shipyards can also build warships for the government. Whatever warships China builds pales into insignificance because US military budget is bigger than the next 9 countries put together. Typically a similar spec warship in China costs 4 times in the US and that is US navy's own finding.
In 2024 BRS shipbuilding market report China delivered 2425 out of the world's total 3968 ships. According to US Congressional research US averages 4 to 6 ship annually. US may bully the smaller nations with its navy fleet but it has no longer the substance.
