Klemen Slakonja is amazing for paying respect to one of the leading contemporary intellectuals of our times. And Zizek is even more loveable for being this humble. Cut the balls!
gno nimo No kidding. It is a tremendous relief. He told everyone that his health took a real hit for a couple months as a bunch of stuff happened at the same time.
That video, far from hurting him, probably made a lot of people know about him and get interested in his way of thinking. Honestly, I dont know much about this man, but my first impressions, this video and the song, were all but negative
Slavoj pls everyone who's not a trained actor or politician has ticks and repetitive tendencies. It's not something to be ashamed of, it's normal and something that can be fine tuned if not worked on.
I have just discovered Cut the Balls, even if I can't qualify the works of Zizek, I'm impressed by his reactions : he does have a sense of humor and patience ! I could not say that of media philosophers in France (BHL, Onfray).
The perverted dance was an excellent introduction to the real Zizek. It was meant to be funny, but at the same time it was a real tribute to Zizek and it had something to say. It was philosophy in pop package.I think that if Zizek did not have this problem of seeing himself on the screen, he would approve of it.
What an irony that one of the top psychoanalysts in the world himself is a psychoanalytical mess! Zizek's tics, his hatred for his own image and maybe even his lisp... There must be some deep-rooted psychoanalytical reasons for these. And it makes sense when I recall that he once said he couldn't care less when he heard of his parents' deaths. He said he received the news and then kept working as if nothing has changed in his life. That's bizarre, for instance.
perhaps the people who are able to dissect other people's ideas and psychology to a refined state can also do so for themselves. So you are more attentive and able to perceive your "faults" in a much deeper sense than what the people around you can see or focus on.
It's not ironic at all. It is standard practice among Lacanians that ALL analysts, as part of their training and a condition of their continuing practice as analysts, undergo analysis themselves. No one is immune to symptoms, including clinical psychoanalysts and people who study psychoanalytic theory.
I don't see the problem because it can be easily argued that the realization that the parents are just another old couple like any other is a condition of mental health and maturity. A negative emotional reaction to a parent's death can easily be interpreted as a sign of a morbid dependence or as an irrational fear of death. And keep in mind that he never practiced psychoanaysis, he only received formal training.
i feel like if someone did a parody of someone else's tics, for example Billie Eilish, the person would be sooooo hated, maybe even canceled for ableism but if someone makes parody of Žižek's tics, people think it's okay...and that's not fair.
Michael Downs (aka Dangerous Maybe) representing for THEORY-UNDERGROUND!!!! What what! TU in the HOUSE!!! Act like you know!! Or if not you better ask somebody!!
The video did not make me laugh, it made me think, and get excited about rejecting the excuses of the powerful. I related when he said he cant watch himself because of his tics and felt sad for us, people love to make others into a consumable product and its damaging.
As for the 1 dislike, Slavoj Zizek clicked on this video and couldn't stand watching himself
Cant see the dislikes now
@@djordjekaljevic5725 there are 6 dislikes now. There's a Firefox extension to put the dislikes back.

Comrade Slavoj be kind to yourself!
Good to see he's recovered from his recent illness
gno nimo No kidding. It is a tremendous relief. He told everyone that his health took a real hit for a couple months as a bunch of stuff happened at the same time.
'We can't be free, until we learn to laugh at ourselves. Once you look in the mirror and see just how foolish we can be, laughter is inevitable.

A mature reaction.
I am Slavoj Žižek, no I am Slavoj Žižek xD
Let's all of us be Slavoj Zizek 😀

the fun video made me watch more real Zizek videos :)
We all have our own ticks, we should not be the ones hating our own ticks the most.
It's a nice answer, I like him, and I met him actually thanks to the video.

The lisp is just his accent I think. Give a listen to some Slovenian talkshow.

Let me add a quote :
F@ck Psychology (S.Zizek)
I love the song. I think it helps to show the joke he made as absurdly hilarious.
It's not easy being free from societal standards.
Any realized man can confirm .•°
Zizek doesn't need to defend himself in any way. This is punk rock at its finest.
Mikey! Whatched this video years ago but only now realized that question was asked by Mikey Downs
slavoj needs a hug
Slavoj in Downsizing would have been amazing.
I am not even a leftist but I love Zizek. I don't always agree with him but that's also why I love his point of view.
Much love to you Zizek!
People took offense to it? I thought it was hilarious! And probably introduced a lot of people to Slavoj.
WEELP, THAT WAS A FRIEDNLY REACTION

Would've been great if he played the role in the movie. I actually liked that movie, for all its unexpectedness.

Oh my effing God...Slavoy I am for you, although politically I'm against you
lmaoooooo
Zižek oprosti, res imaš problem, če rečeš, da je parodija od Klemna neumna in jo zreduciraš na tvoje tike.
That video is the best promotion of you ..you will ever have ..and its free ..😂 LoL
