Few people notice this, but much of heavy metal, especially death and black metal implements many themes from the baroque era. So it's actually not that uncommon for someone who enjoys classical to find themselves enjoying metal, and vice versa :)
I mean, you're not wrong but I don't see how your comment pertains to this video. This is clearly Mesopotamian influenced metal, not much baroque going on here.
What part of this song or band or genre relate to the baroque? I don't see much 17/18th era European influence in this what-so-ever
There's alot of classical in metal period. Regardless of what era or movement of classical. For example guitar gods; eddie van Halen and Randy Rhoads are very similar in skill/sound & from same time, but Randy studied and was focused more on classical vs. Eddie being more blues focused/ based. Both were rock composer guitarists more than anything, but musically it becomes very clear where they begin differing due to their seperate main focus and study.
As a person who likes classical nusic, but never cared for blues that seemingly minor difference causes me to gravitate to Randy Rhoads music and style much more than eddies.
Yes, correct.
"Grand Gathaas, bring us a FAT chick!"
I laughed at this way more than I should have, well done 😂
Mesopotamian Metal! \m/
Its amazing that these guys have accomplished as much as they have. Im sure they had a rediculous time getting gigs and places to record in Jerusalem. What ultimately did it, im sure, is that when the rest of the world heard of god hating black metal from Jerusalem, they decided it was too metal to let go. thats how that worked :P
So, I just put this to make exercise... Now I'm in leading the armies of the city of Uruk.
The entire CD is epic, not just this song. Definitely need new cd soon.
This is probably one of my favorite albums of all time.
RAAAANK. Fuck I love Melechesh \,,/
istanbul, turkey, yere batan sarayı
Perfect music, spectacular attributes! And the first and the only black metal video in Yerebatan, Basilica Cistern, Istanbul.. Greetings!
The place was familiar to me. Too much evenings watching history channel 😅
Melechesh is my all-time favorite band. I met him years ago, and bought his Vigier Marilyn Custom guitar, with DiMarzio X2N Pickups. I can't wait for their 2022 Album, which is being recorded in studio now. Ashmedi is the best musician I know of.
Still no new album...
As a Persian I really enjoy this. So many familiarities.
Greetings from Persia /,,/,
i love to see so much history in this track/band...
my fave part is still 2:54 - 3:15
those heavy big skin drums make me feel i am starting a big battle with demons on my side!!!
Una gran tematica, recordando a los ancestros Sumerios. Una EXELENTE BANDA, los mejor que escuchado ultimamente.
Its not a song, they're summoning evil spirits to liven up their party!
melechesh has some of the absolute best riffs and bridges i've ever heard!
yeah buddy . drives me insane
this song of Meleches is really interesting...i love it much..hail blackmetal!
this is how black metal should sound, this is how it should make you feel! \m/
+Shroud of Darkness volume is at 13 for the glory of Satan
Shroud of Darkness
think outside the box, metal (regardless of genre or sub-genre) is going to sound different in every country. for example, thrash metal from Mongolia is gonna sound different from thrash metal from India. That applies to Black Metal (and all genres) as well
eh . not feeling nothing from this song
Aneira Silvermoon im a dj, I listen to every genre of music and I don't have bad taste either. any other questions?
this metal is blacknot
No Melodic Death in it at all, it's Black / Thrash Metal with Middle Eastern and Death Metal influences. Check out Arallu and you will see some similarities.
I hear Abed al halim hafez - Ahwak in this !!! \m/
i was thinking the same exact thing hhahahhahaha \m/\m/\m/
I had to look it up, but you just gave me something that will be stuck in my head forever! 😂 Thank you!
Their tour with Samael and Keep of Kalessin is awesome, I saw them yesterday and it was like a last but one step to perfection. You know, SAMAEL played after them!!!!
Melechesh, still the caviar of the black metal world - envied by many others, disliked by some listeners, consumed by many, yet really enjoyed by only a few. Pure awesomeness in my book, nevertheless!!!
For any warhammer lovers, this is the perfect song for TZEENTCH!
These guys have been growing on me. Been digging the style they bring.
Black metal more often stands for anti religion than anti race(NSBM is generally terrible shit anyway), get your facts straight. You are no true metal head if you can't appreciate other races/culture making metal.
One cappreciate other culture making metal however those coming here tend to force us to accept their monotheistic tradition and are not even that much into metal. I'm from Quebec and we have Muslims pushing for religious accomodement despite the fact we are a secular nation.
You can listen to RABM.
I saw them mentioned on Revolver magazine. I checked out this album while I was at work today and I've got to say it really kicked ass! I've never seen a band mix kickass black, trash and just kickass metal and combine it with the sitar and the bouzouki. It sounds amazing!!! I wish there were other bands that are as talented as this group.
Try Nile. They Mix Death Metal with Egyptian Music. Really nice listen. I suggest "Those whom the gods detest" to get into this group.
Septicflesh
Jerusalem's answer to Behemoth on steroids. I was lucky enough to meet Ashmedi and the band at Peabody's when they opened up for Melechesh. He told me they were working on a new album and to send him some artwork ideas. I fell out of touch, but these guys amazing musicians and put on one heck of a show. This is also one of the best songs to run to.
Dissection meets Nile.
Tbh, Melechesh were around at the same time with these two bands you mentioned...😉 So I guess more likely Nile were inspired by them
@@acousticsoul874
Not so accurate.
Nile released their first demo on ‘94, while Melechesh released theirs on ’95.
But Melechesh’s first studio album preceded Nile’s by two years.
@@Pat..... in 94, Nile didn't play the same style as they playing now tho
They don’t sound like Dissection with all due respect and Nile is lame shitty generic Death Metal literally name 1000s of better Death Metal bands do not compare them to the mighty Melechesh.
This is bloody clean and refreshing, i love every moment in death metal such as this.
Is it me or did they shoot this MV in the Basilica Cistern? Was about time somebody did...
i heard grand gathaas bring us a bad chick
Everytime I listen to this song I feel like reading so much more about Mesopotamian culture
Évidemment. Quand j'étais à l'université j'ai passé une classe de art history qui avait beaucoup de passages de l'histoire de la Mésopotamie juste en écoutant Melechesh.
I feel like Behemoth, or Nergal got heavily inspired by this video..
same here,agree
Love this band. Saw them with ROTTING CHRIST and was a hell of a show. Although this video kind of reminds me of blinded by light enlightened by darkness by Necrophobic.
Every few years I revisit this and always conclude that it's perhaps the greatest music video of all time.
Fucking sweet loves it
Melechesh Provides a different aspects of their Craft everytime they make an album they are true talents they are gonna make history and name their style of metal someday
this shit live was epic as balls. melechesh are fuckin leet.
Man I can feel this music through my whole body.
Damn they are good. Oh come to the USA.
Assyrian Gods of Black Metal...may you rule supremely, always!
REALLY LADY I MEAN WOW!!🍀🇺🇸🏴🇹🇼🇲🇲
That was superior craftsmanship from the director of the video. An example to be followed.
ok guys, i wasn't aware two months ago but now i am aware that there are lovely women on youtube dancing to metal. please stop replying to my comment lol.
I adore them, all Epigenesis is amazing. Cannot wait to see Melechesh one more time live
Could you imagine a race of giants just stomping us all to death 😁 I've never looked more forwards to anything in my life
Palestinians
Finally, a band delving into the whole Annunaki influence - the basis of our true origins! \m/
Love this songs keep making more albums👌👌👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
Black metal Nocturnus?
i can't believe i met them and spoke to their drummer, Xul, for 15 mins! I feel honoured! Such an awesome band!!
Dude this is epic. Why didn't I know about this genre?
they invented this style and some try to block them
Fucking insane 🤘🤘
De lo mejor que he escuchado ❤️👌
Efectivamente 🤟🏻
This music stayed extraordinary and this video clip spectacular band MELECHESH!
"Enki" is one the best metal albums of all time.
Grand Gaathas of Baal Sin
Melechesh is a fucking AWESOME band.
If you like Melechesh, you gonna enjoy this new music video by Aeternam: ua-cam.com/video/SB2hGdjOZSQ/v-deo.html
great recommendation, mate! 👍
@@robinaluhut8890 glad you liked it brother!
I am not a Moorish Groves if I dont listen to this on this 9/11.
finally I got this album, and I am really psysched!!! it makes a lot of sense to me, spiritually, because I have been reading a lot about the consorts of Asarte--THE divine Goddess--and Baal is one (the central one) of them...not sure why i brought that up. But, I really love Melechesh and their truly original take on "black-thrash" metal. Melody + Thrash + Pagan Metal = M E L E C H E S H !
I'm just speechless and looking to sell my soul for more of this
urrrgghhhhhh!!!! aaahhhhhh!!!!! yaahhhhh!!!!!grffffffffff!!!!!!!!
They sound pretty good I like honestly how the "grind" is not boring and the mixture of sounds without going fully instrumental....pure metal awesomeness
Love from Israel, efshar hofáa baáretz??
Indiana Jones would listen to this
send me the separate tracks to this song, and i'll mix and master it for you "100% free" at least if I mastered this song we'd all be able to hear the singer. I kinda want to rip this from youtube, and enhance it. "no disrespect to the audio engineer of this song, but man I can't hear him :( it's depressing.
Ati Me Peta Babka!
Peta Babkama Luruba Anaku!
Salmat Qaqqadi Usella Mituti Ikkalu Baltuti!
Boom💣
Wow! Just... Wow!!!!! One of my top 3 favourite metal tracks of all time. AWESOME!!!
I recorded them in Atlanta on 04/08/2011. On one video some guy jumped on stage and took pick from Ashmedi's mic...
Great production value, genius. Good riffs and vocal sounds too!
Quorthon is proud!
@kidwhocracked The band’s goal was to create a type of black metal incorporating extensive Middle Eastern influences mainly based on Mesopotamian/Sumerian and occult themes (both musically and lyrically
Basilica Cistern in istanbul. Near hagia sofia.
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. LOVE YOU GUYS ARE ASSYRIAN. SOMEONE COMMENTED YOU GUYS NEED VOCAL, I CANT AGREE MORE. KEEP UP THE GOOD ART
Great sound. Absolutly great.
This place reminds me the "Temple of the Skull", by Dark Messiah lol.
Btw, great band, i saw them live and they really rocks!
we must appologise for them not being fro privileged Norway with they Make - Belief scene this band comes from ancient lands , the holy land and they fight to do metal not reap governmental benefit like Norwegians or swedes ( who know their govs pay the checks so they are arrogant ) , So in an ironic development the make belief fans of black metal adhere to make believe bands for privileged backgrounds... how fucked is that . Metal has become investment banking.
Someone should call a plumber.
I enjoyed this music video. I've had it stuck in my head for a couple of weeks now.
WOW...LOVE THIS...GREAT FRET WORK...NEW REFRESH SOUND TO BLACK METAL...GREAT PRODUCTION
my favorite oriental metal band
oriental yes u may say blackned
listen to melodies and drums bruh u'll understand their new album is coming really exited
renji766 take a listen to aeternam ,) they're great oriental/death metal too !
black metal oriental maestros!
Melechesh ftw! Also loving that mesopotamian guitar!!
Amazing band, stunning video. Love the imagary. You guys rule!
Actually they're palestinians :)
Are they ethies?
Lembra muito BLACK VOMMIT from SARCOFAGO, band from Brazil.
I am glad I didnt listen to the whole song-this monkeys are driving me crazy. Those dudes cant eaven step on Deathstars's finger u.u
No one in this band is Israeli...
uaaalllll great composition, awesome!
agressive and fast, very good guys!
I love that they're doing another run through the U.S. so soon after the tour they did with Septicflesh. These guys need more exposure. Not to mention a new album!
Basilica Cistern in Istanbul.
Melechesh is doing another north american tour starting 6/15. Just FYI. I know that I'm fucking going.
aham yeah sorry if it looked like an attack. try and study a litle bit indoeuropean religions and the folks of the middle east, i had that the last 2 semesters so i shoul know a thing or two. sorry for my bad english, that is the fiel in wich i'm surley inferior. i was just sick and tired of finding poeple trying to make a opinion on a metal scene based on the land and culture it derives from.
That pickguard on the Flying V looks delicious. I'd like to know where the guitarist found it :/ Who's that cameraman by the way? :) And when was this video shot? I hate the fact that I wasn't aware of it so I can go and watch the shooting :'( I'm curious of how they managed to shoot the video without disturbing the fishes in the Basilica Cistern :P But since they used the act of the Twelvers on Karbala, I think Iraq would have been more suitable to shoot the video than a Byzantine building..
@MrMegaFredzeppelin
OH MY GOD EVERY THRASH METAL BAND HAS THE SAME SINGING IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME THEY HAVE NO TALENT OH MY GOD EVERY TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL BAND HAS THE SAME CLEAN SINGING THEY ALL THE SOUND THE SAME THEY HAVE NO TALENT OH MY GOD EVERY CONTEMPORARY/ROCK/FOLK BAND HAS THE SAME TYPE OF SINGING THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME OH MY GOD ALL RAP HAS THE SAME SINGING IT... wait rap does sound the same and have no talent...
@MrMegaFredzeppelin of course i can't agree with you in general, but in fact I think that also melechesch are pretty overproduced already, they do sound pretty similar to other bands, if you want to hear something very special, listen to this: /watch?v=pxMkIm5JxkM Try to figure out how many different patterns exist between guitars, drums and voice (and look at the lyrics). You'll recognize, it is the greatest music ever written on this planet, NOTHING can comepte to metal right now.
the music is pretty good
but the video's boring....
i hope nuclear blast could be more creative
@gloriaIshtar srry but we can't because the other vids we already saw! whats the fun there? The real exciting thing is imagining you doing it!! Even without ever seeing you! yeah men are pricks like that, the grass is always greener elsewhere
hey people, I need your help. I am lookig for bands that are similar to Melechesh! I like the combination of metal and oriental sounds. Bands that may interest you: Nile, Absu, Serpents rise, Behemoth, Human Fate, Karl Sanders' solo project :)
