    The more I learn about eternal marriage, the less I'm scared of plural marriage. I'm grateful I have not been asked to practice it, but I'm grateful for men in the past who have.

    I am so glad that we don't have plural marriage during my lifetime. Also, I am one of the lifetime members of the LDS faith that did not come from ancestors that practiced polygamy. My ancestors came across the ocean later. Also, I appreciate all your videos. Thanks.

      The content creator doesn't control what ads UA-cam plays. It's based on the viewing history and data from the account owner, or aggregate data if not signed into a google account. You might want to check your account history and data permissions before you start making accusations to the content creator.

      Thanks Charlotte, it's true we don't have full control, BUT I googled the issue and there are "sensitive ad types" that we can block! So I block most all of them. We LOVE ALL feedback so thank you for bringing this up!

    As I was growing up it has been said that President Kimball's voice is similar to that of Master Yoda. Truly my inspiration for the Jedi Order. And just like Star Wars the Jedi made a mistake and correct their mistakes. With inspiration and experience to make the new revelation. A New Hope for the galaxies and the universe.♾

    These videos distort and make trite very serious doctrines no longer taught-as if God is changeable. And what’s with throwing Brigham Young under the bus by LDS members. He is a true prophet of God & continued what Joseph Smith revealed to him. Plural marriage started with him & Joseph didn’t give priesthood to blacks. We know the reasons for all these commandments of God. And we know why the people discontinue them... to fit in better with the world.

    • @lineupon
      @lineupon  2 роки тому +1

      Well...It's well documented that Joseph Smith did have more than one wife, and that he did give several blacks the priesthood. But then again some of the early doctrines were not practiced right (like baptism for the dead) until the Lord set it straight. I'm sorry if you feel frustration here as the Gospel I know is wonderful complete with the warts from learning "line upon line".

    I love these. I am so grateful we don't have plural marriage. I don't ever want to find out what it would be like if I had to. I couldn't do that. I will be married someday to only one woman. I'm still looking for her. People who practice it today are unfaithful. The way I see polygamy is as a form of adultery. King Noah had many wives. The reason he married so many was not because he cared for every single one of them, rather it was for his own selfish purposes. I have a novel on the story of Abinadi. His father in law was one of those disgusting priests. Abinadi's wife was the only child. Alma was a distant relative to the king's newest bride. The woman eventually married Alma after the king's death. And the wedding happened just as Helam's father in law conquered their people. Helam was newly married and he was a leader in the community. His brother had been burned to death by King Noah. He was, as you've guessed, Abinadi. Helam married his widowed sister in law just before her evil daddy arrived with a Lamanite army. In fact even the wedding night itself was not what they hoped for. They were deeply in love. She woke up her husband and they did have a tender moment, but he quickly felt someone coming and left to answer the door. She followed him. It was a young man who was really close to the family. She'd known him for years. He'd come with a message from Alma. There was an army spotted. Lamanites. Her three year old was asleep at grandma's place. Amulon arrived on his daughter's wedding night and Alma's true love was a prisoner to the evil man. She escaped to the city in horrible condition, like bad enough she would probably be in the hospital if they existed back then. Amulon was to blame. Back to her first wedding. Alma was there, and soon after he was ordained a priest by the king. The wedding night was also when Amulon's daughter first met this young man. She was out in the fields and they bumped into each other just as she was about to return home. He was on the run from an enemy army that just invaded. She took him to the palace to warn the king. King Noah noticed her beauty and demanded her hand in marriage. But she rejected him, and gave him what he deserved in the process. She gave his leg the toughest kick she could! Plus Noah deserved every harsh word on her tongue. She married Abinadi after running away from home. The prophet Jacob referred to a commandment the Lord gave to his father concerning plural marriage: there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife, and concubines he shall have none. That command from God gave Raquel the courage to stand up to King Noah. In the third volume of this series I have that precedes the novel. It covers Lehi's journey. Volume three is the sea voyage to the promised land. The author puts the family in Bountiful when the Lord gives that revelation to His prophet. It's their last night in Bountiful. Laman is missing. The family is worried. Especially his wife and children. His kids ask mom questions she can't ever answer. When he returns with another girl and introduces her and declares she has agreed to be his second wife, everyone is shocked. His wife flees. His mom is the first to confront Laman. She commands him to send her back and she will not stand for her son treating his wife this way. Lehi is sad and his youngest daughter in law worries for a moment. That's Nephi's wife. They have a boy and a new baby girl. Suddenly he declares the word of the Lord to the family and tells Laman he will be condemned if he takes another wife. P.S. I don't claim any of this as doctrine or even reality. It's just fiction

      Those fictitious novels are for entertainment not education. Better to stick to the scriptures for insights. Jacob 2:30 -at certain points the Lord will approve of plural marriage.
