The thigh swivel isn't really a thigh swivel, it's a screw rotating inside a super thin piece of plastic, that's the reason why the legs are floppy. Everybody should be careful when moving their Trunks' legs because these things will break sooner or later.
Cancelled all of my preorders for the figure once I saw the bad reviews on it. Super disappointed that they dropped the ball with Trunks out of all the figures. Tamashi don't gaf about the consumers anymore.

Apocalypse, Blade, Vision,. the Red Hulk and Beta are fantastic representatives of their comic book lookalikes. I can't wait to see what your Top 10 will be at the end of the year.

hey anthony! thanks to your reviews and all the insight you provide into action figure engineering, I've started 3D sculpting and printing my own action figures.. I've done a v01 of figures and now I'm going for v02 hoping to make some updates in articulation and such... I was thinking of including a butterfly joint in my next gen of figures.. now I know butterfly joints rarely offer much much range but I wanted to push my skills a bit further... just for kicks.. I know how to do butterfly joints, but I wanna make them without ruining the sculpt.. or rather, ruin it as least as possible while having a functional joint.. so I was wondering if you could recommend an action figure which has really good butterfly joints so I could take a look how to do it properly? thanks!
Figures that really impressed me this year was the recent combo from Mythic Legions: the Xylernian Guard and Duban. So by now we know those Mythic legions figures by heart, articulation, weapons, engineering,etc... still the new parts and clothed goods for the new figures and those upcoming really changed the game i think. Now looking forward to cosmic legions. My worst experience so far has been with GI joe classified, there was a drop in quality on a couple of waves this year, gummy plastic, loss of details, etc... was very disappointed. Really looking forward to that Jada toy line, the wave 2 has the dhalsim, which might be quite amazing
For me this year has been a bit slower for collecting, I've picked up a lot less than prior years, plenty of Hasbro lines I've hardly touched, in fact I've spent more time backtracking to earlier figures that I missed, but there's still been some solid figures. NECA as always are killing it, I don't collect their Turtle stuff but they rounded out the Lost Tribe from Predator 2, along with their new D&D figures and a few more Universal Monster releases which are all solid. I also really liked some of the DC Multiverse stuff from McFarlane, even if they are at times pretty inconsistent, I think their recent Ocean Master and Black Manta from the Page Punchers line are both pretty great.
I haven’t been able to put they Jada figures down since I opened them. They are incredible! I wish we could get that level of articulation and design neat that price put into a an IP I really care about.
I tend to buy figures from previous years but my top 5 figures released this year have been: Mythic Legions Duban Neca Warkuke GI Joe Outback Jakks Breath of the Wild Link and Zelda Mythic Lsgions are such good figures, and they have been getting better and better with each year. These new ones that are about to release actually give mezco a run for their money, with tons of aoft goods, lots of accessories and better articulation for literally a fraction of their price.
I would replace the shredder clones (which I will admit are pretty fire) with the Triceraton zog from neca tmnt. And I personally think that ryu is better then fei long. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents not trynna start a war! I know people be passionate lol
You need to use Ash from Ash vs Evil Dead for recieving nut kicks. His screaming face works perfectly. Loved the ways you had Darwin set up at the beginning of the video.
Great list as usual, couldnt agree more with many justifications like wishing Liu Kang had a Dragon-less option like the new Shao Kahn has a throne-less option. Turles I recently got and gotta agree one of best DB figuarts they've released for me, cant wait for 2nd Form Frieza. Jada toys having been swinging with SF so Ive got high hopes with the Mega Man line.
Wish Diamond Select produced more figures. They're absolutely great. I don't even mind the slightly dated articulation, as I tend to think of their figures as bordering between action figure and statues. They genuinely care about the quality of their sculpts. That's something Legends and McFarlane can't say they do.
I recently got Storm Collectibles's Ken the Eagle and I absolutely love it. It would've been my top figure, but the only issue is that it feels like it needs a stand.

I just wish Jada Toys did some cooler looking figures with that torso sculpt. Like if they did a generic army builder ninja with accessories and an awesome masked head, I'd happily spend the money; I guess I gotta pick my battles. Great top 10!!! Can't wait for the End of the Year one!!!!
I think one of the figures that may become part of your top 10 is the Mafex Nightwing, the price though may put some people of. Due to figure pricing and such, I don't buy a lot of figures, but those that I bought that I have in my top 10 is the McFarlane Gladiator Batman and the McFarlane Deathstroke (rebirth). They are good value for the price.
That faux #1 spot and the ensuing laughter triggered reminds me why I sub and watch almost all your vids, even for shit I could care less about! Thank you for your continued excellent content.
I knew Fei Long was gonna be the top pick so far considering how much you used him as the gold standard as of late for reviews. I personally like Ryu more but I'm all in on this line from Jada, they are crushing it, so many improvements over their Universal Monsters line (Which was already on fire for generic versions of the monsters over NECA's hyperrealism) That Spidey set is such a letdown still when it didn't have to be. Why do new sculpts on Tobey when you're gonna bungle it anyway and look like a scarecrow in a 20 year old Spider-Man costume from the OG movie?
Thanks Anthony for the list! I've got 5 outta the 10. I'm not much of a NECA guy outside of Gargoyles, but watching your reviews, I might start leaning to get into the TMNT. If I'm able to find that new Mirage 4 pack, I'm gonna get it. I've made a video stating that Jada toys Ryu and Fei Long will easily be in the top 10 figures of the year. Even was arrogant enough to say top 5. As we're halfway through the year, it's looking promising for the newcomers. And like you said, for the price point, fun factor, and accessories, they're the figures to get.
Very cool list; I really wish I could buy Kakashi but I have other priorites right now. I'm really pumped for getting the Jada Toys SF figures (they're currently sitting on my pile of loot at BBTS), but I'm also crossing my fingers I don't get ones with QC issues since there's no way I'm going through all the trouble of getting a replacement. I 100% agree with Anthony: if Jada Toys keeps this momentum AND price, it could bring a wind of change both for collectors AND the industry....I just hope they sell well enough 'cause otherwise we won't get the rest and I want a Zangief.
I watched just to see how high the Ryu fig would be because it’s definitely the best fig I’ve gotten this year. I can’t wait for the Chun-Li fig and suspect she will finish at the top for a lot of 2023 lists.
I absolutely agree with Fei Long as number one. Superb articulation, sculpt and shadow paint on the skin, plus extra hands, head and a power effect. Hasbro would charge twice that only have one head and no paint. Ryu looks good too but those humongous feet remind me of a human looking Hank McCoy before he furred up. I can't wait for them to come out here in the UK.
I say this a lot, but I just hope Jada keeps this up. Street fighter is one of my favorite IP's and I am so happy so far. Awesome list. Thanks Anthony!

Maybe Jada should get the DCUC 6 in figs. Bring them back to the 1/12 scale since Mcfarlane seems to have taken over the DC Direct/Collectibles scale.

the new Naruto from SHF is an easy top 10 figure for me this year.. It's just one of the bang for your buck type of figure from SHF..

We touched on the subject a while back, about a toy company that could do ML better than Hasbro... and sure, they aren't as big of a company, but I've said for a few months now that it would be cool to see what Jada could do with the ML contract. We maybe wouldn't get as many releases...at first anyways...and yes, things would be different, but considering the current state of ML in hasbros hands, just a totally different approach, might be a good thing.
