In this series, I am going to re-upload some of the milestones from our performing and recording productions in the last 15 years. Our lead master technician Mr. Iztok Zupan remastered all of our analog audio recordings in an amazing digital Hi-Res audio landscape. He used sophisticated rerecording processes, rubidium clock processes, and some other exotic black magic for one of the most superior sounds, you can get it on youtube.
This recording is particularly legendary. Our balance engineer Mitja Krže from National Radio did amazing sound design. The golden generation of the orchestra played this milestone recording with never-seen-before mastery and artistic excellence. Many of those musicians are playing now in the best world symphonic orchestras: Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Berlin Philarmonic Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle Zürich, Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna State Opera, Frankfurt Opera, Kremerata Baltica, Bavarian State Opera and other renowned orchestras around the Globe. Our master engineer Iztok Zupan carefully inspected this beautiful audio material and did a spectacular re-recording audio miracle. Enjoy this legendary and one of the best performances on UA-cam.

This beautiful music and some stunning photography takes us into a much nicer world.
You have done it again, Primož, and spectacularly. Much of the scenery from the Jelocvica and Bohanj mountains I recognize from your beautiful promo video ("Climb Every Mountain" 💖) and then your concert video of the 2016 Christmas concert at Gallus Hall: "Ameriski večer". I never get tired of watching those two lovely videos. And this is an amazing job by Iztok of the sound remastering. Listening through my earbuds, it is as if I were sitting in that beautiful concert hall in Ljubljana. Please pass that along to him.
I very-much miss this amazing orchestra that you founded, twenty years ago, of course. But thank you for all of the recordings of them and the choirs that you have posted over the years. And I know that each time you share these remastered ones, it will be a beautiful listening and viewing experience. Thank you for all of your many, many hours of work to bring these to us, my friend.

Hanno, the Gimnazija Kranj Symphony Orchestra gave its' last concert just before Christmas 2018 under the title, "Zadnje potovanje domov" (Last Journey Home). Those concerts cost a lot to put on and with the end of a sponsorship and rising costs, the orchestra went out with a superb show. Many of the young people nurtured within the orchestra over its' 17 years have gone on to join many famous orchestras across Europe.
One child of the orchestra is the choir "Carmen manet" Here they are winning the Eurovision Choir of the Year competition in Riga in 2017. The first song entitled, "Scarf" but more correctly, "Veil" (Schleier) is a narrative ..... girls being girls, one of them falls in love, they marry, there is a baby, there is a war, he goes to fight, there is a gun shot, there is grief. ua-cam.com/video/5LyOkf4iyZ4/v-deo.html

Hanno... my good friend Terry is not exaggerating about that beautiful, bittersweet final concert. There are several others of Primož Zevnik's superb videos of it, that you will want to spend some Very-high-quality time watching. Our wonderful friend Primož, incidentally, not only founded this orchestra in 2002 (as well as being a teacher of Slovene language and literature at the school ), but was also the orchestra's music and concert director and producer for all of those years, as well as many other "hats" that he wore in order to keep the orchestra going, financially and otherwise. He and his team of engineers and student/apprentices also recorded those concerts over the years, and he personally edited and produced the recordings for RTV Slovenia and also for his own UA-cam channel here (Zevnikov). I have absolutely No idea when he ever found time to sleep, let alone have a family life (his son, Jakob, is now one of his production assistants)! And Terry, on many of those performamces by Ernestina and the Gimmazija Kranj choirs, translated those beautiful songs from Slovene into English and other languages, which you will find in the onscreen captions of these beautiful video concert performances. .
And if you will watch the entire video from the link that Terry sent you of the "Carmen manet" choir singing their first-place performance at the 2017 Eurovision choir championships, then you will have also seen their absolutely superb performance of "Ta na Solbici", a wedding celebration song sung in the Resian dialect of Slovene. In both of these performances, you will see Ernestina Jošt, Primož's standout soloist at his Gimnazija Kranj girls' choir, who is the soloist in the first video of which he sent you a link ("Suo Gan", the lovely Welsh lullaby which was the recurring theme music in the film "Empire of the Sun"), as well as the soloist in the "Carmen manet" 2017 performance of "Adrca". She is usually at the left side of the top row of the ladies, unless she is front-and-center singing as the soloist, and hard to miss with her beautiful blonde hair. But her long-time friend, and my dear long-distance friend, who sings the very first opening solo in "Adrca", after the girls' circle game at the start, is Mateja Grašič, who is not only a superbly sweet-sounding soprano (as is, obviously, Ermestina), but also a concert-quality pianist such I have seldom heard in my lifetime. You will see her, usually, in the front row, fourth from left, in the choir. She is quite "petite" (as was my mother, who was a concert pianist, and my piano tutor... and Mateja's playing style is very reminiscent of hers). And in addition to being a member of the Gimnazija Kranj Girls' Choir for several years, she also had some solo and accompanying piano performances with the orchestra, and later with her own "Trio MAK", with two of her close friends from the school orchestra on flutes, on UA-cam, and now on her own UA-cam channel (which I Highly recommend that you look up, and please tell her that I sent you! 😊).

Dear Danylo. Everything was filmed in Slovenia. Mangart, Bohinj mountains, Jelovica range. You should visit those places next summer.
@@zevnikov Yeah, I haven't got to Mangart yet, but it is in to-go-to for sure. I've been a lot at Bohinj, but for some reason I coudn't recognize it in the fog :( As for Jelovica, I'm getting confusing info about it's location from the internet...
@@D.Trinchuk Danylo, I assume that there is only one Jelovica. If that is so, it is about the same distance to the West-South-West of Kranj as Ljubljana is to Kranj's South-South-East. Travel South from Kranj to Škofja Loka. Cross the river and travel westwards up the valley of Poljanska Sora. For the easiest route pass through Gorenje Vas and continue for about 1.5 kms and then turn North to Hotavlje. You will cross the River Volaščica. Turn right following the blue path. The road narrows. Continue for about 1.5 kms and turn right following the sign to "Suša 1.5". From Suša, there are several routes into Jelovica about a kilometre away to the North. Jelovica is a very rural settlement with only 11-14 permanent residents. It sits on the eastern slope of Mt. Blegoš. Mt Blegoš is a ridge rising to 1,562 metres above sea level. The East side rises quite steeply and then, in some places, the razor-like crest drops almost vertically into the valley to the West. I think that that is where the most dramatic drone shots were filmed. It must have been exhausting carrying those cellos up there. About a kilometre North of the settlement, there is parking and a track running up the ridge. I hope I am right. I have never been there. Have fun.
