@cloudsworld------13 My friend, that's what Aus' are for.
The whole cannibalism being a metaphor for consuming love but not pure love really fits this story and the idea of giving yourself to your other, fits with the toxic dynamic Vincent has with Rody, he doesn’t really know what love is hence he feels the need to eat Roxy to finally taste love. Rody’s relationship with Manon fits the ideal dynamic Vincent wants, Rody is prepared to sacrifice himself for his partner to the point it’s destructive because he loves them too much, Rody said it himself everything was for her not for himself, Manon actually caring about Rody breaks up with him so he can actually put himself first, which is a foil to Vincent . Vincent cares more about himself while Rody cares about others more. If Vince and Rody actually get together Vince would eat Rody but in an objectified way so Vince can finally taste something, on the other hand Rody would be willing to give himself to Vincent even if it means getting hurt or even dying, in a way these two parallel one another.
she was sort of eating his life away you could say

Moral of the story: don't be altruistic selfish sadistic or cannibalistic
the best served hot ending frustrates me the most, he ATE his ears and then proceeds to explain that all the food is bland and makes him sick, except for his ear
damn bro is such a picky eater 💀
Yea i agree! Imo, i think the "best served hot" ending is the best out of all of them. 2 and 4 endings dont need an explanation, but for 1 is because i think Vince would most probably hurt others or come after Rody again. Rody is probably also going to go somewhat insane in the first ending too, because he maybe thinks Manon abandoned him? Considering he's pretty obsessive he would try to call over and over again which results in insanity and everyone gets hurt.
The 3rd ending(best served hot) however, since Rody now knows the truth and kills(?) Vince, He can have the chance to get better. He maybe seeks therapy and gets his ear or lack of ear treated! That way Vince dies and everyone is happy! Maybe except vince x rody shippers
nope, the reason manon didnt pick up was because vincent had chopped her up nd i the end shes the 'steak; we get@@DorkyCherry

Real
Y'know, if Vincent didn't kill Mamon I think that he and Rody would've become good friends...
Definitely not
@no_dojo8056 the for the new fanfic idea 😁
Possibly, although it could be an abusive friendship
No.
I mean sure, they're prime fanfic materials but canonically, they don't respect each other. Rody repeatedly express that he doesn't like how he's treated (being asked to wait for personal party unpaid like it's nothing, hates Vince's cooking, etc) and Vince's psychopathy oscilates between utter cruelty and mild caretaking: when Rody messed up the trash he coldly slaps him _then_ treating his finger, also when Rody got soaked from the rain he helped drying him off and lent umbrella _all while_ ya know, having cooked his ex.
Vince have just enough social skill to make him seem like awkward loner, but he's all red flags. While Rody doesn't have his life all together but he's ya know, normal and sane when he began.
@@letsreadtextbook1687not to mention that Vince do all of that not as a pure sympathy, at first I think he just act like a tsundere, but then I realized he actually dont care. He treated rody's wound so the costumer didn't see it, or when he drying rody's hair and giving him umbrella, he do that so the costumer didn't have a bad impression for his restaurant. He just helping people when there's an advantage in it
High respect for Manon for leaving Rody because she cares for his well being, not because she doesn't love him. Vincent had just gone insane due to lack of being in love and his taste in food. I think he just did that for fun or something, idk-
Then there's Rody who has a love obsess with Manon. If Rody took care of himself first then things would have gone well with the both of them 💀
(Or not considering Vincent is.. well, still Vincent. Manon REALLY didn't deserve to die but as what the others said, nice ones dies first.)
I dont think she really cared for him anyway
@@maria20203no, she cared about him and that was the whole reason she broke up w him, for his wellbeing. Did we read the same comment
@@colorfulpaintbrush She broke UP with him, causing him ti have anxiety and obsession with her, nah, she has done nothing good to that guy
@@maria20203you may think she didnt do anything good for him but youre wrong. it's definitely NOT manon's fault that he was obsessed with her. manon clearly stated at the end of ending 3 that rody isn't ready for a relationship and that he should start focusing on himself, which rody couldn't accept, and we saw that clearly throughout the game that rody isn't ready for a relationship because he only got a job to buy things for his (ex) girlfriend, even though he's already in bad living conditions. if this was put in a scenario in reality, nobody should stay with another person just because "the other person is obsessed with them"
manon didnt want to see rody destroy himself over her and thats why she broke up with him, yet rody was in denial and still tried to win her back despite everything she said, and thats on him. manon did nothing wrong
I think the "best served hot" ending is the best, sure, dude lost an ear, but hopefully it didn't damage the inside and he can still hear somewhat.... And murdered a guy, who tried to kill him... And he's going to need therapy, but at least the chef isn't going to harm anyone else.
Or in the quit ending, which both are alive and well, which is great! But the chef might hunt someone else down...
Honestly the 1st one is the best ending but at a cost she goes missing and he never hears from her again. Roy and Vince in the 3rd ending it’s pretty fucked Roy finds out the woman he loves was killed and served to him, he also kills a guy, like man that’s gotta fuck you up.
I'd argue 3rd ending is better because the 1st ending can leave open the possibility that Vincent comes after him later on.
@insanities120 no not really because vincent went after rody because he had found out his secret but because rody left he wouldnt find out meaning vincent wouldnt have a reason to kill him

I love that there is one side of the comments that strongly ships Rody and Vicen, while the other is disappointed that people are so blind that they don't see that it would be a toxic relationship. But hey, that's up to everyone's discretion, if you ship them, ok, you're free to do so. BUT if not, that's okay, you're free to do it.
I personally dont, that is toxic as heck! (Even tho i love yanderes so idk what's wrong with me) but if you ship, that is a-ok! Enjoy your ship :3
I think it being toxic is kinda the point? Like I haven't seen what the community does with them when shipped but I'm assuming the draw is to explore the toxicity? Idk I've seen fandoms where that's why they like a ship
@@FNAPKayla32 yup.
That's the fun part. Why ship if it's happy?
Personally, I’m really debated whether I ship them or not because I feel SO bad for Rody 😭😭😭 I like to think it as one-sided kinda relationship but I honestly can’t see them being romantic together 😞
I know it's probably not the case, but I like to think of cannibalism in this game as metaphor for sex, in Vince's case not consensual.
Like:
"I can't stand eating... it's all tastes the same, it tastes like nothing, but maybe with **you**..."
Vince was told his food was lacking "love", we might read it as having sex with no love for another person and as result feeling nothing after.
Vince might had affection for Rody, but because it was one sided and Vincent was abusive and more focused to feel something rather than other person's needs he ended up hurting Rody and non-consensually "eating his heart".
This is very very interesting.
So Vincent is *metaphorically* a rapist
Damn. 😭
It's a very possible allegory with the way you described it. Very interesting analysis, I like it!
If its that deep, then why didnt they add the ending even tho the metaphor is sex, i mean u probably would get it, but its not that obvious u would have to dig deep

I absolutely believe there was meant to be something romantic in terms of Vincent's feelings toward Rody, although taken in a more metaphorical sense. With that said, it would be absolutely unhealthy and abusive. Just stating that right now. Y'all remember Killing Stalking? Yeah, that kind of shit.
So you're saying Vincent met someone who looks like Rody 💀

This is looking too deep into it but I interpreted Vince not being able to taste anything as depression/feeling empty.
He has been feeling completely empty and unable to feel happy despite his success as a chef being something that should make him happy.
Once he meets Rody he's actually able to feel some sympathy for him and Rody being nice to him makes him feel happy once again.
I see him wanting to eat Rody as a metaphor of not wanting to lose Rody because he's the only thing able to keep him happy and now that he finally found a way of feeling something again, he doesn't want to lose it

@@Phone_guyFnaf
1. According to google vore is "a fetish involving being eaten by or eating someone or something, real or imaginary"
2. Bruh just search it up
3. Oh shit, vore is a fetish? And here I thought it referred to cannibalism, I mean it does, but I didn't think it would be like THAT, I like gore and all that but now I feel sick thinking of all those stories with that tag, next time I'll just search gore (t-that's not fetish related too, right? ...right?)
@@bleb_berzLiterally has scenes where he’s on a plate and in an oven but okay??? (Vores literally my kink and trust me IT IS).
@@Phone_guyFnafyou can search it up on Google but basically vore is a kink where you get all worked up to be eaten by / eat your sexual partner.
You know, the game only really puts a subtle light on it, but Rody is honestly kind of creepy too, which I find interesting.
Like, presuming that Vince didn't lie (and given he's about to kill Rody, he has no reason to), that means even when she was alive post break up, that thing Rody could do after every work day is just something he did. He called her for the past week.
And the missing posters. That's such an odd detail with the knowledge Vince didn't kill anyone (presuming he's telling the truth, which again he's about to kill that person so why lie), so those missing posters are either a red herring...or the other implication is that, since she's stopped picking up his calls, he started looking through them to see if she's safe.
It's actually pretty clear that Rody was obsessed with Manon. Manon clearly told him straight up in one of the endings that he's the type to idiotically obsess over someone to the point of toxicity, as well as at the cost of his own progression as a person. Like he wouldn't bother trying to find a stable career to work through, nor reflect on himself as a person or anything, all he did was just try to dump anything he can onto Manon. Manon was 100% on the mark, he's not ready for a relationship because he's not even ready at being a well-adjusted person. And even after all that Manon told him, he was still trying to obsessively find part time work to get money so he can try to win Manon over. He completely ignored everything she said, and just continued on trying to obsess over her the same way he always did. There's a reason why there was that one character that was an ex colleague from college that recognized Rody, and told him that literally everyone from class knew he was going to flunk. The dude is that pathetic, and everyone can see that he just sucks at life. The fact that he went through hundreds of jobs in a short span of time also speaks to how bad he is at even the bare minimum. And a good look at his apartment also showed just how irresponsible and immature he is, as well as the way he would talk to people and say stupid things without being aware of how he's coming off. For example, that one part during Vince's party where he straight up told one of the party goers that he thought of Vince's food as nasty and that he was extremely selfish and didn't care to cook for what the customer wants, and he said that all out loud in the same room where Vince is. He's worse than mediocre, and the only thing he was good at is being unhealthily obsessive over Manon.
I like both of your observations to the characters, it explains well of how both have their flaws and not totally victimized Rody even though we're playing as Rody there
@@KingPinguofDingu this is my thoughts exactly. I was seeing people thinking that Rody was completely justified, but he really is immature and obsessive with Manon. He keeps pushing and trying to do everything for Manon without taking any of what she said into consideration, putting himself through hell just for her “happiness” without actually listening. Manon is very sweet, and her reasoning for breaking up with Rody is understandable. I feel like both Rody and Vince would’ve made a much better pair in that regard. They’re both toxic and make up for what the other person is lacking. They would’ve been pretty cute together if Vince wasn’t a murderer or if Rody didn’t discover what Vince had done to Manon. This entire story is very interesting and has lots of layers, just like a 3 layered cake
Guys. Go write the ship you want to see in the world. Artists and writers have done more with less, and there's no point pouting about what isnt canon. I've always thought less is more freedom to fill the holes with whatever you want.

So from what am seeing this game is about a gay chef that can't taste so he resolves in cannibalism, a waiter that is doing the job to get his gf back, and the said gf is dead because the chef killed her for him?
This sounds like a toxic af bl story ngl .
Funny cuz the chef is in fact gay🥰
(Confirmed by the creator)
And the protag is bissexual for what i heard of
No idea what is going on, but Vincent is giving be Hannibal Lecter vibes.
Fun fact: The creators didn't watch hannibal at all
The only thing I don't understand is why is the villian so sane? He acts pretty normal even though his thought process doesn't make sense. Like he bit off the waiter's ear before he had the idea to eat him, but isn't a canabal
you'd be surprised how many nutjobs are actually sane and, to an extent, self aware. His thought process is indeed stupid, but to him, I think he derives no pleasure from anything in his life; he truly has zero taste.
He befriends cruel and rude people since he doesn't care, he gets whatever furniture he can find even if its ugly and mismatched, and he makes food that he doesnt enjoy the taste of. The only thing he seems to enjoy is praise, like in those articles on his desk, or probably the attention Manon had gave him to stroke his ego some more and feel superior to the protagonist. Or the rewards and honor he got. It makes sense, being a chef who is critically acclaimed but has zero tastebuds would make anyone egotistical and let it go to their head.
So, the article on his desk saying his food is bland and not made with any love whatsoever, definitely revealed the even more sinister dark part of his brain. Narcissistic people tend to really hate things that pang against the ego. That insane part that was always there, the rage, the irritation, disgust of his own life, and how he genuinely had a pretty empty unsatisfying life. So, what better way to release that rage and still feel superior, than demolish a dude's love life and kill the girl he loves, and be able to at least say you TRIED "cooking with love"? He doesn't even know what love is, he probably just assumes it's another thing he will never genuinely have for himself, or maybe he's just a pretentious chef who loves metaphors and wanted to be like "HA! Cooked with LOVE, THERE WE GO, POETIC!!" lol
A lot of psychopaths and serial killers seemed normal and put together and so did many killers until they were caught. Ted Bundy is a very famous example. He seemed to be a nice, generous man but in actuality he was depraved, broken and loathing of women dje to his past.
This may not apply to Vince, we don't know him fully to know for sure, but the very distant description of his family shows some kind of rift which is a very common occurance in killers ie Ted Bundy found out his 'sister' was actually his mother and he was lied to, making him hate women. (Sorry for all the Ted Bundy references sodndnendjdj first case that came to mind)
I quite like that he acts sane. It makes it more disturbing.
I think this gives Vince's character more depth, the way he acts so calm, the way he dispells any misconceptions about him (for example, what happened to the cook that was fired), it makes Vince not feel like a caricature of a crazy person
I like how in all the endings, one of them dies because of the other, then the fandom be like:
"sOOooOOo RoManTiCALllLLL" 🧚♀🧚♀✨✨💖💖💐💐
well many actually ship for that disgustingly delectable dynamic they have or perhaps them just being oddly cute to each other when they aren’t being fucking insane
I js feel like people completely ignored some of the BIG BIG BIG parts of the game like...Manon broke up with rody bc he couldn't HANDLE a relationship, but the creator doesn't mind, so idrc 😭
damn i’ve never seen a fandom mischaracterize characters THIS badly before
Ngl, i feel bad for Vincent in the 3rd ending. Im not saying i forgive for what he did, hell no, Manon did absolutely NOTHING to deserve that, but imagine actually being in his place. Looking at the shipping comments, I feel like it's pretty obvious everyone knows that this isn't meant to be healthy and is just an exploration of a toxic relationship. And I agree with their narrative analysis in that lens. But I also agree with the people saying that everything is grotesque... guys they literally bit their ear off and the other set him on fire.

manon Breaking up with rody was good and bad.
good- she left him because he wasnt taking care of himself like he needed too, and she didnt want him to overly tire him, and end up pyshically and mentally drained, or him thinking she needed him to spoil her with gifts so she would love him like he did. smth like that..
bad- Manon also doesnt love Rody. if you look on the official wiki fandom, you can read that manons love intrest is vince. she wrote vince letters, and even flirting with vince before vince hired rody, and there game evidence for that. She Likes vince And not rody.
Rody still ends up draining his mental health, and pyshical strength, he doesnt take care of himself like he needs to, he still tries to show her that hes atleast good enough for her.

All of these characters have issues. Well, Vince is obviously a psychotic cannibal while Manon has a liking for money and Rody seems to be obsessive in relationships. It is clear the Manon values money in her relationship since she choices Vince to be her rebound (someone who is finically stable\famous.) Although, this not be the main reason she left Rody I still do think that money played a role in her decision. On the other hand, if we look at Manon's perspective she claims that Rody completely sacrificed himself for her which is quite unhealthy if you think about it. GOD I LOVE THIS GAME!
nooo don’t misunderstand her ( ˃ ⌑ ˂ഃ ) she’s a genuinely nice girl, her reason is extremely valid. She just so happens to catch feelings for Vince but that doesn’t mean she likes money
Out of the three of them, Manon is the most kind and normal. She just wants what’s best for Rody because he really isn’t fit to be in a relationship with her, she even said she would go back to him if he valued himself more. Rody is like “I’d die for you” so its really unhealthy for the both of them, her only option is to leave and hopefully that Rody reflects and take care of himself more (ง ͠ಥ_ಥ)ง

Jail, jail for you
I wish there was an endings guide, I’ve replayed this game four time and watched play throughs two times trying to get the endings without actually watching the endings.
There is an endings guide on the itch.io page.
this is kind of unrelated but I'll share anyway...
(For context, I'm in my pitch black room with headphones on)
I was watching the "table for one" ending and my phone just shut off (like it had powered it off entirely) while I was near the end. But the ringing phone of the phone continued even while my phone was off. I went to watch it again, same thing. My phone was off, yet I could hear the phone ringing in my headphones.
Honestly, it scared the hell out of me.
I don’t even know what this game is but holy shit.
What is the black haired guy doing, how the hell did he bite off that guys ear.
The black hair guy's name is Vincent, and I'm also wondering how he managed to bite Rody's(the MC) ear, like, bro must have strong teeth for a guy who can't stand eating 💀
@@v3nus523the black hair is Vince
The human jaw is very powerful, people bite other peoples ears off all the time.
@@Kote_val oh I thought "Vince" was a nickname, thanks for telling me!
@@v3nus523 NO NO WAIT DONT LISTEN TO ME sorry I messed up Vince actually was a nick name and his full nameis actually Vincent Charbonneau
Imagine getting your ear bitten just to get dumped kinda atleast he will learn
I'm scared from the 3rd ending when HE STABS VINCENT'S HEAD 😭 it's 3:43am, I'm shaking in bed 😭

The insane look in his eyes tho

I HOPE THERE IS LIKE A REDDIT OR SOMETHING
Vince is canonically gay I think (according to the artists’s twitter)
And its heavily implied that Vince has something going on for Rody, but due to this being a horror game of course his sense of love is twisted beyond comprehension
@@YourBestDaydreamrody is bi too
@@YourBestDaydreamDawg I don’t see it anywhere maybe in the repost but most are just normal

i’ll be honest right now, they would’ve been good each other as a couple if the situation wouldn’t have gotten worse 😓

I will now be eternally shocked because of the fourth ending i didn't know about before. Like, UM.
Bro y'all disappointed this game ain't BL and don't even think about how toxic the relationship could be 💀💀💀
I don't think that's what crazy people think or care about unfortunately.
Hell someone told me that I was reading it too deep!
No one's ever cared. Take Drarry and bakudeku for example.
Bro are disgusting dude?
@@ExtraterrestrialPercival I feel like Rody and Vince interaction with each other was more better than "bakugo and deku". Bakudeku is nasty. Rody and Vince is not really too much as a good ship but better than Bakudeku.
@@C4NDLE-L1GHTbro vincent is a cannibal what are you on about
I love that I share the same name as the main villain lol
Did anyone else start thinking that the chef guy had a crush on the protagonist or something at first?
Edit: I have seen 5 comments and i got my answer lol
If only Vince wasnt crazy and Rody was more stable for a relationship this couldve became ✨GAY✨
10:18 dont say that bro, this hurts more than the ear
Tbh Vince x Rody would be a good ship if Vince is not crazy
idk but i kept hiding behind the tables when Vince was tryna get us
Sorry,but i must say it:
I thought this was a yandere type bl😂
I need to know if i aint the only one
Same!! When Vincent said "You were supposed to enjoy it! The dish was meant for you." I thought it was gonna be like: "Vince is secretly in love with Rody so because he didn't know what his favorite food was(and wouldn't ask cuz it'd be too obvious), he killed Manon to have Rody eat something he likes, then when Rody is upset over Manon missing his calls, Vince can be there for him, steal his heart(not literally-) and get with him". Doesn't that sound dope for a yandere(not specifically bl-) anime??
@@mariako750
Ending 1: Still wants to offer the waiter job to Rody and wants him to enjoy the leftovers he’s given him
Ending 2: The jig is up, but still gives him a chance to escape
Ending 3: Jig is up + getting mad because Rody wasted the meal specifically made for him
Ending 4: Kills Rody because the damage is done, but still cooks his heart
@@Code_Lune I love that!!
@@mariako750well also literally

Oh, man, that's great.
I’m going to say a controversial opinion I have:
Vincent x Rody would be extremely toxic
Rody is more attractive to me than Vincent
And I actually like gingers
Now this game is my favorite
this is reading The Menu via Hannibal
those comments saying you shouldn’t ship them bc it would be toxic, thats kinda the whole point for me lol
I love this so much❤
I can sympathize and understand why most people here are disappointed that this isnt bl but some of yall are ABSURD
Like what tf you mean they couldve been a good couple??
DID YALL SEE THAT CHEF BIT THE WAITER'S EAR OF AND SHIZ???
I swear some of you guys who have this mindset are probably the same people who ship/like toxic relationships
Honestly same here I don't understand these people.
@@MoonIbis Right. Im disappointed
yeah, even if they somehow ended up being together it would be insanely toxic & also most likely one sided, because ain't no way the fact that Vince literally massacred Rody's girlfriend and was planning on feeding her to him didn't scar Rody mentally. heavily upset about the fact that most top comments here are about shipping these 2
@@ohyevascns i think they mean they could be a good couple in a universe where the whole manon murder/cooking didn't happen
I mean before shit went crazy they did have good interactions, and vince seens to like rody a little bit
@@julianogueira714 maybe, but at the same time who knows how would things go in that universe, considering if Rody still saw the photos in the trashcan and a locket.
Vince would need to work on some of his issues too. Unless his personality took a turn to a more rough (?) one after the murder, he's still kind of a jerk. Im judging this from the chef scene and the food party dialogue ("No at as 'harsh', lets say" to the question how was Vince like before, though we don't know if its their first time meeting after the university or if they kept in contact over the years.)
Overall you're right and it could maybe work in an AU with no murder, but the original events of the game make me skeptical about this idea even if i try to think of it under an angle of a universe where everything went alright
I know why people ship Vincent amd Rody now ✋️💀 These endings made me realize it ❤
GIRL WHY
They're really stu/pid.
