All the actors were so good in this film. One of the most unexpectedly nuanced characters is John Magaro because he's dealing with the feeling that maybe these two are destined to be together and he's getting in the way. His performance ranges from comical to angry to sad to profoundly reflective, a real mix of emotions. I think the audience I saw it with felt for him, though his reactions also provided a bit of light comic relief.
The scene when they meet and the pain on his face realising he can’t compete…… brilliant acting, made me cry.
He was unbelievable. And getting looked over at the awards season. Such a shame
In a way, John Magaro's Arthur had the most difficult role in the movie. At first, we want to hate him, and in a lesser movie we would have. Past lives doesn't take that lazy path and makes Arthur a good and decent man that we don't want to be hurt. Excellent film!
totally agree, i was ready to hate his character from the start, but it was impossible, he even shows he is self aware of how he could be perceived but he was not that at all, he was compassionate and mature, the scene where he is in bed with nora is one of my favorites
All three central characters grow into tremendous emotional maturity. John accepting that his wife has this part of her that is culturally and emotionally separate; Hae Sung realizing that Nora is not the same little girl from childhood and has carved out her own life; and Nora who reaches an acceptance of those choices.
Although there is a focus on the missed “romance” between Nora and Hae Sung, it is actually her marriage to John which is the deeper and more meaningful relationship, because love is found through shared experiences. She struggles with confused feelings about her childhood friend and with her internal bi-cultural identity, but in the end it’s John’s arms that she seeks comfort in.
Teo speaks so good english but german accent is so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

CELINE YOU’RE SO COOL. such an interesting method to direct the actors to physically not see one another until the actual scene. love that their reactions were genuine and raw, and the performance from the trailer alone is so impactful already. creds to the casting team bc WOW
Teo Yoo's new drama "love to hate you" is a good drama. I watched yesterday. He is so handsome.
Loved the show it was cute and funny
I also watched it only recently and liked it very much. His co-actor, the guy with long hair who played his manager, is very handsome, too. Btw, it's amazing how young Korean actors and actresses usually look.

I believe Teo Yoo speaks 4 languages: Korean, German, English, & Russian. It is truly amazing and commendable.

He was born and raised in Germany and only left after he graduated high school. Then he went to the UK and then the US to study acting.
This absolutely cannot be Celine Song's first film. The way it was shot, directed, even how she manages her actors and the methods she used as Teo and Greta explained. I'm floored and flabbergasted that this is the first film she's ever done.
I mean, to think of it even the masters (Scorcese, Kubrick, Spielberg, etc) didn't have their very first films look this accomplished. What a tremendous talent. I just hope she does pull a Terrance Mallick and make like a film every 10 years lol.
I am digging all the cast members! Greta is so personable I am already feeling a connection with her. Love this can’t wait for the movie!
Teo spoke english in Hate to Love You. So impressive.
Teo Yoo was the real gem in this film. If it wasn't for his subtle mannerisms -- just his acting overall -- the movie would not have had the emotional weight it carried.
Hae Sung's character carried the heaviest burden if we're being honest. He had to sit on that unrequited love essentially since Nora left, and all the way to the end when he left to return home. Heart-breaking, and absolutely relatable for a lot of men.
So nice to see how much Teo grew up in his acting and how much he is getting recognized, very nice. Such a great cast!!!

Tae Yoo's english accent reminds me of Jaehyun, they both have the same deep soothing voice. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed his recent drama!! Well done and I can't wait to this movie!!
