[Everyone disliked that] It's pretty shit, it pales in comparison to 4.1 which actually had flow like a cadence. Not to mention the soldier singing is just....shit
I like the idea of adding a new song but, at least they could have kept the old one. Maybe added more voices to it to indicate the different troop types who are singing.
@@guy3480 yes the old one was nothign special if we just look at it from a technical aspect(it even rhymed out and out at one point) BUT it was in my opinion a better thematical fit for the series(altough not a good fit for 5 in particular), and most importantly it was bloddy hilarous,, 5s song is while not supper optimistic, more about fighitng back and winning (even if it means dying) 4.1s song was the exact opposite at times, it started happy, declaring that we are deploying all our forces, and we are ready for this, even saying that they coordinate with the navy and air force, yet in verse 3 it is the exact opposite, it suddenly sings about their forces being almost destroyed, and needing to regroup, the enemy groups up and suddenly humanity is in danger(yet still in a happy cheery tone) and verse 4 starts out the same, talking about how the air force and the navy is either destroyed or scatterd, and how 3 of the major divisions of the EDF(Scout, Rangers and wing Divers) are basicly wiped out, and yet, despite all of this, they do not give up, they still fight on(the closest the 5 song gets to this is "we`re ready to give up our lives" and this is how the song continues, the EDF soliders KNOW the situation is bleak, they know that every day people they care for die(Our friends were all killed yesterday, as were our families, Two days ago my brother died, next day my lover fell and Today everyone was almost killed in that we must not dwell) and they know they are facing impossible odds (Today we may not make it facing these atrocities) yet, despite all of this they STILL fight on they STILL dont want to give up, (Despite all this the infantry will stubbornly hold out, We'll never drop our banner despite our casualties and But we will never leave the field, we'll never say farewell) this is the song of an EDF that DID repel an invasion once already, they know its possible to win, they KNOW becasue they did it once already, they completly and utterly believe in this, and despite them wavering at times, when time and time again people they care for die comrads they fought alongside with, friends or family, in the end, they still fight on, why do they do this? maybe its stupid pride, maybe its just stuborness, but in the end it doesnt matter, the EDF fights on, and yet the soldiers dont forget their humor, who do you think made these last 3 verses? you dont think that anyone in the EDF command would aprove such a song(looking at EDF news (the 4.1 Trailer)) these are cleary verse written in the field by soldiers just fighitng day after day. its real, thats why ryhimg group and regroup isnt an issue, its something people do, best example of this entire situation is the last verse (after the "stop that depressing crap" line(because even in universe they know that song isnt realy uplifting in theory)) suddenly they sing about a hero that destryoed the mothership in 2017, and how they wil follow him to victory, it doesnt fit the rest of the songs themes, which is why its so great coming at the very end(besides being a nod to EDF 2017) its a lot more like the uplifting content of a moral boosting song then anything else, and yet it feels odly detached to rest of the situation, the entire song was about staying in the present, not dwelling at the looses, it doesnt evne talk about the future besides that they woudl be soup if they dont destroy the enemy and fighting now, and suddenly the song turns around and looks back at the past(8 years ago even) and talks about the future(tomorow folling him to victory), and this hero is talked about in the gamy constantly, but its always in rumors and one person always says it was probably blown way out of proportion, the EDF doesnt normaly believe in hero(or at least the normal soldier often doesnt) they live in the here and now, they fight now, and they sing about what they WILL do now, and what they WONT do now the song in EDF5 is a better song from a technical standpoint, but EDF4.1 has the better song thematicly, and humor wise, reusing the 4.1 song in 5 however would not have worked, as this is the first invasion for the EDF5 EDF well this became way to long and i probably dont make any sense at all. sorry

5 has songs about losing family too. but only npcs sing it. its in one of the missions where you go to get the barga

I think the problem is the notes and the length are too complex for a casual marching tune, it would be easy to get out of step
I mean they littreally give up not even half way in the lyrics in this one tho idk man the tone of 5s song 100% more depressing in context
It's the best thing in the universe that the AI instantly knows what you're doing and perfectly lines up the next line in time when it should happen.
So there is more songs, but it's only what the A.I can sing, it happens randomly though in some missions.

there is ONE verse the player cannot choose for some reason but the npc will randomly say it
