- Ho city, the capital of Ghana's Mountain Region, is a city that impresses with its blend of modern infrastructure, economic opportunities, and natural beauty. Traveling to the city provides a vivid glimpse into Ghana's commitment to regional development, with smooth roads and stunning landscapes framing the journey.
Our journey began in Ghana's bustling capital, Accra, and led us across the country’s scenic mountain and lake regions, passing through the renowned town of Akosombo. Known for its iconic Akosombo Dam, which supplies electricity to much of the nation, this town serves as a key landmark on the way to Ho. The first impression that stood out was the quality of the road infrastructure. The highways were impressively smooth, making the journey comfortable and efficient. The drive was not just a transition but an experience, as we enjoyed breathtaking views of lush greenery and winding mountain roads that reflected Ghana’s natural splendor.
Upon arriving in Ho, the city’s exemplary regional link roads reinforced our initial impressions of its connectivity. These roads seamlessly connect Ho to major destinations, including Accra, Aflao on the Togo border, and the northern regions of Ghana. The smooth and well-maintained roads not only enhance travel efficiency but also contribute significantly to economic activities such as trade, tourism, and logistics. Key routes like the Ho-Accra highway are instrumental in linking the city to Ghana’s economic hubs, ensuring that businesses and residents have access to resources and opportunities. The infrastructure is designed to handle both commercial and passenger traffic with ease, further solidifying Ho’s role as a regional transportation hub.
Once in Ho, the urban road network stood out as a symbol of meticulous planning and investment. The roads are wide, clean, and supported by functional drainage systems, making them resilient to flooding. Modern traffic management systems, including well-placed pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, ensure the safety and convenience of all road users. These roads facilitate easy access to key areas, including educational institutions like the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and healthcare facilities such as the Ho Teaching Hospital. The city’s road infrastructure not only supports daily commuting but also enhances its appeal to investors and tourists alike.
Ho is rapidly transforming into an economic powerhouse within the Volta Region. The city’s strategic location and infrastructure are catalysts for growth across various sectors. Agro-processing and light manufacturing are key industries, leveraging the Volta Region's abundant agricultural resources. Factories processing cassava, maize, and palm oil are creating jobs and adding value to local produce. Solar energy projects are being developed to boost energy independence and support sustainable urban growth. The growing population has spurred demand for housing and commercial spaces, with modern residential developments reflecting the city’s upward trajectory. The presence of UHAS and other institutions has catalyzed economic activities related to student housing, research, and international partnerships.
Ho’s reputation as one of Ghana’s safest cities is evident in its harmonious environment. The city enjoys a low crime rate thanks to effective law enforcement and strong community ties. This safety, combined with the natural serenity of its tree-lined streets and green spaces, makes Ho an attractive destination for residents, retirees, and expatriates. As a gateway to the Volta Region’s natural wonders, Ho is surrounded by destinations that showcase Ghana's ecological and cultural diversity. The city’s roads provide easy access to Wli Waterfalls, the tallest waterfall in West Africa, offering a breathtaking view and hiking opportunities; Mount Afadja, Ghana's highest peak, ideal for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers; and the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, a unique blend of conservation and cultural heritage. The journey to and from Ho itself is part of the adventure, with stunning vistas and smooth roads enhancing the travel experience.
Our journey to Ho, beginning from Accra and traversing through the picturesque Akosombo region, highlighted the transformative impact of Ghana’s infrastructure development. Ho stands as a beacon of progress in the Volta Region, offering excellent connectivity, a thriving economy, and a tranquil environment. It is a city where modernity and tradition coexist, making it a destination worth exploring for business, education, and leisure.
At long last! Thank you for showcasing my beloved Volta Region!
Ghana is nice, love from Nigeria
😮😮😮
Thank you
Thanks.
What is nice about this? Shameful nation
We love you back as long as you stay in Nigeria 😂😂😂😂
Am a Ghanaian but honestly I didn't know Ho was this beautiful😮😂!
😅im even shocked
Me too.
Hohoe too ooo
Proper roads everywhere in that town
Akosombo too
Good to see Ho portrayed in this manner
However, I am from the Volta Region and I must say the monkey forest and Agomatss what is commonly known as
Eli waterfall has nothing to do with Ho
Ho as the administrative capital
Is on its way gradually but at a
Very low space
Because they made you believe Volta Region is poor and desperate.
My dream last destination ghana 🇬🇭 with cool and nice people much love from 🇺🇬 🇺🇸
Welcome to HO my region
I'm a Ghanaian and miss my Ugandan girlfriend from Iganga.
Ho is beautiful in fact Volta region is most beautiful touristic region of Ghana boasting of mountains,Hills and valleys, several waterfalls with green sceneries.
Ho is beautiful ❤
I like Ghana style of roads really, its well marked with pedestrian lane
Not all of Ghana is like that most of the Eastern region and Volta there are rods in Ghana where there's no development no infrastructure
Ho is very beautiful 😍
I have been to Ho twice, I am Ashanti. I have been to many regions. Ho is a nice place, peaceful and transportation in between areas are the best so far I have seen in most other cities in Ghana. The camera did capture the beauty well. Very clean city , population low, and they ain't much tall buildings , and all the nice buildings are government or commercial buildings. Tricycle is their major medium of transportation, I feel.close to nature anytime I get there. It isn't as beautiful as Accra and Kumasi, but they are neat with what they have. If I am government worker and my salary is constant no matter where I choose to live, I will be at HO.
as a growing city, it needs taller, more beautiful avant-garde type buildings, like an egg house, ship house etc, those kinds of infrastructure. And their airport must be functional to facilitate trade, tourism etc. Their authorities must be visionary and working hard to sell their city/region
It doesn't look like a city but it's super beautiful place!
What d you think a city is? Go look up the definition and criteria of a city and come again.
@@brightdelalidennis9946 It's a town.
@nanaeffah2174 you people need to travel outside of your cocoon a bit. Every country have their own way to decide if a place would be designated as a city or town. Example most Foreign countries like U S or Canada, any place of a population more than a 30k is a city or a small city and in some other countries with the same population or even a bit more or a bit less is a town or small city, so in Ghanas standard Ho (~ 188k pop) is a City because it has most institutions infrastructure services of a city can or must have. Cheers from Ahafo Ghana 🇬🇭
@@kofiarthur3749 If you were well traveled as you claim you wouldn't be calling such deplorable settlement as city. Keep basking in mediocrity.
Volta Region is a very beautiful place to be
You can find one of the tallest mountains, water falls and many more.
The land is so blessed.
Though am in Ghana but have not been to Volta\HO before. Nice place
So Ghana has a Beautiful city like this? Waoooo.Ho is even neater than accra n kumasi
@@Ichbinselig Well….Kumasi and Accra both have close to 5 million inhabitants each. Ho is like 200,000 people even if that so obviously it’ll be cleaner.
Eiii 😂 saaaa
@ Doubtful but even that is still about 15% of the population size of Kumasi or Accra so still no difference. 😂😂😂. Be glad it’s not crowded to keep it clean.
I don't think the size of the population should make a city dirty or neat, it is the lifestyle and mindset of the people living there. I lived in Ho for 6 years and I always say that Ho is the neatest city I have ever
been to. I remember the first time my siblings came home without our dustbin and said the dumpster is full and the watchman there asked them to leave the dustbin there and they will empty it when the zoom Lion car comes ,they will go back and find the dustbin empty. This happened several times.
Stop making it a people issue. Population control is not easy. I’ve lived in the U.S. for over 20 years and NEW YORK CITY is one of the most dirtiest cities I’ve ever visited.
You cannot tell me the people of Ho are better than the people of New York. RELAX and use your brain. Highly populated areas globally have challenges with cleanliness.
Ho is oxygen of Ghana
Oxygen city
It's super clean
Ho is naturally beautiful, i miss my days in the Polytechnic from 1996 to 99. Watching from Dubai UAE.🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for sharing this nice video ..I have visited this beautiful city ,in 2019 ,it becomes much more cleaner and more developed than that date ,I love Ho ,I will visit again .🇬🇭❤
I didn't know HO is this beautiful. Waow.
Ghana is big have so many brunches interesting 😮😮😮
I really love your content.
It allow us to see what’s going on in Ghana special for us that lives in abroad.
I’m watching from Canada and I haven’t been to Ghana for over 30 years.
I really want to see more about Eastern region of Ghana the mountains.
There is a town called Manpong, the first Coco tree was planted in that town and hospital.
Please can you do the Eastern region Mountains
Thank you.
Ho is nice. Thanks for this nice video
Wow!! Had no idea the Volta Region was this developed.
@@14boatman stop the jokes
The road u see now. Ungrateful@@dennisbrown7930
@14boatman I don't need your list. You have the confidence to even mention UHAS. No one is saying the NPP has done nothing, but stay this attempt of yours of attributing things to the NPP that they know nothing about.
@@14boatmanstop your dirty politics.... Who cares if you are a sympathizer
@@14boatman look, not all of us are ignorant. That school was functional before Akufo Addo became president, he came to meet phase two and ensured its completion but you are here claiming Akufo Addo built the school. So today if Akufo Addo goes to add halls and faculties to KNUST, must we conclude Akufo Addo built KNUST?
I need a Ho in my life right about now.
Very serene n clean
Very neat environment
To be honest I'm really surprised. The place looks pretty clean and the lush greenery around is simply amazing. Thanks a lot for sharing.
My home town is very very clean and nice than some part of Accra here
Wow
Please try and invest in the Volta Region. Above all, it's a very peaceful region. Go and acquire lands and build beautiful houses for rental and commercial purposes. Definitely, there are lots of business opportunities. God bless.
lots of ongoing investments
Everyone knows voltarians don’t sell their lands
@@AmaAidoo-ts8ws not true. Some do sell. Im from Ho.
Ho can be better. It seems like Asantes are the only people in Ghana who keeps building their cities. Most people from other parts of Ghana all want to move to Accra. Leaving their hometowns development behind.
Voltarians should start building Ho and leave Accra alone.
Don't worry Ho n Hohoe are going to be better than some cities. God's time is the best
You must have a problem with voltarians - they should leave Accra alone -really? Accra is the only place close to a city in Ghana and everyone is in Accra not only voltarians.
Hohoe will go places, l can see the signs. Perhaps Ho too, not sure.
@@IchbinseligGod’s time is the best indeed. But how can the place be better when people bare scared of people knowing they are wealthy ? People are scared to build and invest because of the people. Unlike Accra where no one envies or cares about how much you make or how luxurious you live. For Ho, we all know what will happen if you come out as very successful.
@Danny-kk8mn things will change very soon. I believe in Jesus Christ: with him all things are possible.
My hometown.
THE TRIP IS COOL
Some of the footage here is of the Akosombo area in the Eastern Region.....
Where exactly? Give us the timestamp
I luv Ho
Can you do Tarkwa in the western region of Ghana. Another incoming metropolitan city in Ghana
VOLTA REGION .. ... THATS MY REGION . .
How is very clean
Pls do northern ghana
So ho is that beautiful like this?
Nana Addo has done marvelously well, look at the roads in Ho,God bless Nana Addo and Bawumia
Addo who insulted Voltarians ???? Maddness
So clean and not much populated. Accra needs to take serious notes.
❤❤❤
Ghana is now boasting 12 metropolitan cities namely
Accra
Kumasi
Sekondi Takoradi
Tema
Cape Coast
Sunyani
Koforidua
New Juaben
Wa
Ho
Techiman
Tamale
You are doing a good work 💯.But please this is a town
Ho is beautiful but try Takoradi too
Too old. Too much 1880s buildings
@AfricaViewsInternational true but it has a beautiful side as well
Takoradi is far far ahead of Volta region@@dennisbrown7930
Oya see roads
🙄🙄🙄🙄
What is a city?
Does Ho qualify to be called a city?
Is thsere a city in Ghana that can compete with other countries?
Shameful nation, shameless leaders. Since independence, about 67 years, look at the state of Ho. Aden koraa na yeagyimimi koraa saaa? Oman ben koraaa nie?
This is a town though
Beautiful road infrastructure though
its a metropolis now.
Ghanaian best cities look like our tenth tier towns. No fighting, Ghanaians. I am only speaking my mind. Thank you, sir.
It's a town though. Show us a town in Nigeria with such roads?
Zoo man from poor country nigeria
We're not comparing towns in failed states here. We're talking about working, thriving nations, not zoos like Alata!
@@patrickfrempong7504 You mean Asaba. You are jealous now. Hehehe...
We are talking about places where humans leave, not about jungles where the strongest animals survive.
Nice video but why use a European voice? Is an African voice not good enough?
Do you think it sounds too good to be African?
HO IS A TOWN AND NOT A CITY
Peasant city to me. Not impressed at all, ghana government needs to do better on infrastructure development
One step at a time. At least there is some progress. We will surely get there.
Learn to use words correctly! What do you even "peasant"?
Let's see where you live and what you have done.
You again. When he showed Accra, you shouted: "is Accra the only city in Ghana?" Now he shows another city you're off on another tangent again. Whatever the name Ghana has done to una.
@@dennisbrown7930Dennis i like you for your love for your mother's land. Note, whatever any observation made might not be to denigrate town or city but a wake-up call to the regional government to do more.our people deserved more. The filming was done from major roads showing the aesthetics of the new road.if filming was done inside Ho township you will certainly know the regional government needs much to do for our ppl. It's not every time we point out a misnomers of our ruler of their in adequacy was meant to bring or castigate a country no. Not at all. Africa is our land our heritage we will salvage to make it better for all.
