Hi mike,the white cane is harder to use on a grassy lawn with the grass holes harder to pick up uneven ground.
I use that same technique with my white cane
kindly teach the cane teqniqu with sighted guid...
I've heard some halarious stories from people who narrated how they face planted because of this cane technique. I guess they were not severely hurt, as they were also laughing while sharing stories.

This is a dumb technique. People will walk confidently in areas they are familiar with, and have an accident if any obsticle is placed in their way.
