Very nice assessment. You hit the main key which is to observe, learn and know your animals. All my snakes are thriving and actively basking with the UVB, halogen and DHP combo that I currently use. It's summertime now and nighttime is allowing me to dial down the DHP's. I much prefer them over CHE's and RHP's for the exact reasons you mentioned. Those units are basically just space heaters that only warm the air.

I think if you are in a super cold climate or have an animal that it very sensitive that a heat panel can be a good way to control the temp of both the warm end and the cool end but again its ambient heat not basking heat, I'm actually considering increasing the ambient room temp in order to use lower wattage bulbs

Nice video! How do you control each of the different lights though? does each light have its own thermostat?

I mainly use timers and wattages that reach close to my desired temp, my main heat source is on a thermostat and the others are not, I would ONLY do this in large scale enclosures to allow the ability to escape the heat if needed.

Hi does the deep heat project give off any light?

There is a slight glow from the heat coil but it's not enough lumens that it w9uld be considered visible light.
