- In this solo adventure I take my Campion Explorer power boat out to troll for Chinook and Coho salmon just outside Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I launch out of Cheanuh Marina into Beecher Bay and catch a decent amount of Salmon while searching for some keepers.

Nice video Matt. Those shakers are hard to avoid. Keep those vids coming
Thanks! I need more excuses to go fishing. ;)
Nice work Matt on the video! Entertaining to watch as it looked like a fun day on the water to me.

Really enjoyed your video. I'm new to the salmon game and live on the mainland. I struggle with the regs, you need to be a lawyer to figure them out!
@@AlHutchings Yeah, it can be a bit much especially for someone who didn’t grow up doing it. I feel people that having been doing it their whole lives take what they know for granted. They don’t realize what they have retained over their lives / fishing careers. Lots of people fish the same spots every year the majority of their life. The regs generally stay the same. Tight lines! Thanks for watching!
Coho only have spots on the upper half of tail.
@@gmoney1762 yup!
As far as I know chinook wild/hatchery where closed till Aug 1 in area 20-5 only open spot was renfrew 20-1, 20-2
There’s a small area in 20-5, we call it the triangle. Hatchery only. Aug 1 the rest of the area 20-5 opens and you can keep wild and hatchery 45-80cm
If you are curious it’s from notice FN0291, “Subarea 20-5 (portion of Beecher Bay):
Effective 00:01 hours April 1, 2024, until 23:59 hours July 31, 2024, the daily limit of Chinook is one (1) Chinook per day, hatchery marked only.
These measures apply in the following waters:
That portion of Subarea 20-5 north of a line drawn from (48°19.554'N, 123°37.768'W) to (48°19.589'N, 123°36.533'W) then following the shoreline of Frazer Island easterly to the RCA boundary at (48°19.700'N, 123°36.267'W,) then to (48°19.633'N, 123°35.681'W”
