Did you have to pay for childcare during your PhD?
OK, here’s the deal. In America, unless you have fabulous family or a stay at home parent, everyone pays for childcare. So, I don’t really see this as anything out of the norm if you want to be a working parent. Yes, I had to pay for childcare during my PhD. And Yes it was expensive. Childcare is always expensive. But the alternative for me, not doing my PhD was not an option.
