Found your channel earlier this summer while searching for tutorials/tips/tricks for better combine operation (I drive for my neighbour when able and needed). Having binged all the episodes, I’ve really enjoyed the humour, humility, work ethic, faith and everything you share but I really appreciate the technical info and learning as well, like soil conditions and such. So thanks for that!

This one with the pH isnt too hard to understand, but i can say to get the pH from 5 to almost 7 will be quite expensive😬
The pH and lime is very important for availability of the other nutrients and the ground struckture. If its too low or too high less nutrients will be available.

Variable rate will be a great change. Don’t necessarily save money but you put nutrients where they need to be. I was on the ground floor when that started. We went out with a transit to map the fields and then they burnt a chip for the field. Backed into a corner and told the spreader where you were. No GPS. But that was in the mid 90’s farming has come such a long way.

Enjoy that intro so much. I’m glad to see all the happenings at Cole corn star farm. Glad to know family is on top of things. I’ll be watching all the progress made. Enjoyed you guys having a little fun playing. Love it! Relaxation; it can be all work. Question Do you celebrate Christmas? Are we watching family putting Christmas tree up at the farm? Good luck ! Hope you get a buyer for the things you’re selling.

Great camera work for the basketball shooting. It is ALWAYS a good idea to put back in the soil what that years crop took out.

Oh my gosh, the book of soil test, makes you think how did old time farmers make things grow.

I never knew corn grows best in neutral pH soil. I thought most plants grow better in slightly acid soil for the nutrient uptake...like around 6.5. Learned something new today! No wonder my corn never grew. 🤪

In the next vid, please include the full segment of Cooper’s inside-the-cab-with-the-windows-up basketball shot. With that, I’ll do a complete shot analysis.

Hey Cole, regarding you new bin project. If u been following Zack's channel u would notice how much work they have trying to cleanup around the bins because everything is to close. Hope u plan for cleanup around the bins. Also I noticed Larsen Farms have a very small skid loader that can fit between bins. Handy.

Soil evaluation and perhaps crop rotation are very important. Farmers back in the 20', 30's (mid west + Oklahoma) just grew one kind of crop...Then a huge drought turned the depleted nutrient soil to dust....Many of these farmers/shearcroppers went bust, many heading west....to Caliphony.....

I got such a laugh from Cole's selective editing when he was playing basketball. Cole should have added one like "hey from 1 mile away bouncing the ball off a corner fence post see nothing but net". Lol
