Check out the difference in the original version ua-cam.com/video/ChgvPTVpbzs/v-deo.html and this version. Don't get me wrong, they are all amazing singers, but you can really hear the difference between the two videos.
I’m not sure what exactly, but something just seems odd with this rendition. I think that their predecessors did a better job with this piece. Still love these guys though.
I think one issue was the microphones. On the older tape, it looks like there's only one microphone in the middle, while there seems to be at least three of them here. Plus, tempo differences make it drag (unlike a train :P). Also I should add that Philip Lawson (Tenor) is closest to the middle boom mic, so his voice carries much more than it naturally does (which is still pretty strong).
The falsetto singer steals the performance with the arm motion of the locomotion.
Am I the only one who recognised tall Moss and young Greg Proops in there?
BRILLIANT *sighs*
Got here because of Quentin
Smirhes ftw, me too, after seeing the title I was like wtf, that's quentins song lol,,,, prefer his version hahaha
@@duncthomas3327 that should be the benchmark to any version of this song.
Me too
Ditto
Säng, säng, säng...
Pigge-pigge-pigge-pigge-piggelin...
So bloody difficult to sing and they nail the altered chord at 1:31....
That's not an altered chord. It's a major 7 followed by a dominant9sus4

You aren't kidding. This one can't hold a candle to the older one... Although the suits are better here. ;)

The "look at him" bit on this one is funnier though :)
Mejor la versión The King's Singers de 1978
Pero admite que también está es excelente. Saludos!
