Very cool! Gary and I have talked about getting one. Like Rachel I like to have a focal point to aim for, of course my range is no where near that bomb throw of hers. Looking forward to trying it out tonight!
been thinking about gettin a techdisc... good video, id be interested in see it in a full sim setup with a projector... been playin on and off since 2011... a smashed drive for me is between 450-480
Anhyzer is how I get distance. Get a neutral disc and throw slight anhyzer and it’s gonna get a great S flight and when it flattens out it will glide quite a bit of ways. I do this with my halo beast. It’s perfectly beat in and it finishes so good. The halo mystere is also a good disc to do it with.
@ that’s probably my most inconsistent shot. I’m really consistent with anhyzer. People say it’s the hardest shot but to me that’s my go to. I’m trying to get my distance up but I think on a good day with some wind I can get 375. I haven’t really ever measured my distance so it’s hard to say. 400-415 might be my max I’m not sure
I found this by chance, I’m very interested in your results. My farthest throw “according to Udisc” is 354’ but I normally average 280 I’m not athletic and know it has to be form based
New to the channel! Farthest throw (downhill) is 458ft w/ a Star Tern. Farthest on flat was 359ft with a DX Glow Valkyrie. Looking forward to your thoughts after using it more. I would love to know how nose down I'm actually throwing but it seems like a big investment..
Work on your form best way to improve. I have been playing for a little over a year now. I started out at like 240 to 250. I got a net and set it up in my garage and watched some of simons old videos where he breaks his form down. Work on one thing to a time and then put it all together. I now throw 360 to 370. And I'm short and stocky so if I can do it I believe you can.
@@brandongreen9381 yeah my form I’m sure is bad. Unfortunately I work 50 hours a week have a 2 year old and another on the way so form work is hard to squeeze in there. But I too am 5’9” and built like a football player so no long lanky arms haha but thanks for the advice it is definitely in my to do list with those Simon videos!
Have never been a real long thrower even in my good days when I was winning tournaments as an Am and then an Adv Am. think I used to throw around 285 now about 230 age and bad mechanics currently are hindering my throwing. I was more interested since I couldn't throw as far to try and be more accurate with my throws.
You never answered the question in the video title. Is a tech disc worth it? I have been on the edge of buying one to train with in my garage in the off-season. I feel like it's the only way I can ever figure out how to get my RPMs up, find a consistent downward nose angle, and even see what changes I make actually positively affect my throw stats. I used a tech disc in a coaching session I took recently. My RPM is low, like 700's. Which I suspected it to be low. Also, I love data, But at the same time I feel like I might just get frustrated with not being able to get the numbers to budge.
I haven’t answered it yet because I haven’t had enough time with it yet, if I had to guess it probably will not add 350$ plus tax worth of distance to my drive. But do remain hopeful and in about a month I’ll know whether or not It was a poor financial choice haha. My fear is I’ve played about 8 years and changing anything form wise may be far fetched now
I don’t agree with the distances it shows on their app. I have used mine to work on some form changes to dial in my nose and hyzer angles. As for how far, up until last weekend my max was 460. Last weekend was super windy and on a downhill shot the wind caught my disk and took it for a ride, when it finally landed (way out of bounds) it had gone 627!

I am in my first year of disc golf so about 9-10 months of playing. Max throw maybe 250-275. Rachel was just seasoning that tech disc lol.
Someone’s gotta do it 😂
Is it bad I secretly wished this would turn into a video where the disc misses the net and just sailed into the house across the street?
