- This is an 90s Casio keyboard with a funny feature - they keys light up. There are also built in lessons. A glimpse of all the presets except splits.
I think this was one of the first Casio keyboards to use this same sound chip.
For 1996 these were respectable sounds in a beginner's keyboard, it was Casio's
first keyboard with key lighting before the Casio LK series keyboards.
I don't know about the chip, but some of the sounds are known from other Casio keyboards. They were mixing them in a really different configurations!
awesome demo, love this era of Casio PCM, great video!
Thanks!

I have a Casio LK-100 which I got for Christmas when I was 7, that actually was the beginning of my keyboard interest. And yes it has the same sounds and has lighted keys as the 520.
For years, I never knew Casio had more than one keyboards with the same sounds, I always thought the LK-100 was the main and only one with that type of sound. But excellent video
@@nevansyed5976 yes, Casio had many keyboards with the same sounds for many years. Sometimes there were minor differences. Lk100 is from 2004 and 520l from 1996! Thx for comment!
It's a pity it has such a low polyphony. Otherwise it would be much more usable as organs, strings and synths sound quite nice. Actually that's quite a material for sampling.
12 notes polyphony isn't bad, but you can soon run of it if using the layer sounds so 6 note there (the're at the end of the video). Tbh it would be better, as in older Casio Keyboards, with "tone bank" option, to mix everything with everything. Here you have only 10 chosen set of layers.
@@keyhoarder I thought it's closer to 4-8 from the video (glitching even at the beginning). Did you use layering most of the time?
@@dwsel no, layers are only from 80-88
@@dwsel maybe its not glitch but just my playing 😂
