Just started watching you man I’m almost 5 days sober. I Been stagnant for a long time stuck in a rut ruined a lot of relationships I HAVE to do this! But anyways I’m enjoying your content
Hey congratulations on the 5 days brother !! That is awesome man. Trust me I know all too well about the chaos that alcohol brings into our lives. I appreciate the comment and the support, keep going strong my friend!! 🙏
My God, Slayer, I've shared on this before, but I really couldn't agree more with the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde statement. It was such a relief to hear this spoken about because I had to sit with the things I had done and question how much my past actions define me. And they don't. They don't define any of us. In regard to your comment about picking up the pieces and figuring out your future, I had been a functioning alcoholic for over 10 years. While I wasn't struggling with addiction before that, I still was living in a party mentality. I went to work, paid my bills, but lived paycheck to paycheck bc of my lifestyle. I didn't seize the opportunity to go back to school at a more functional age. So now, here I am, 37 years old and picking up the pieces. Only now building my future. I'm finding peace with that now, still trying to wash the sour taste of reality out of my mouth. Haha. But I know that god put me on this path for a reason. Had I not gone through the things I did, I wouldn't be where I am now, doing what I am now. I would not have found this exact path had I not gone through exactly what I went through. What I do now for a living felt so right the second I started. It feels like what I was brought here to do. You, too, have a purpose, friend! Right now you're exactly where you need to be, you're going through exactly what you need to be going through. you're seeing the lessons in it all, I'm sure of it. And if you havent realized already, then some time down the road as you're living life you'll realize that everything you've been through has brought you exactly where you are as the exact person that you are..touching this community alone is evidence that everything happens for a reason. Much love always, Slayer!! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Wow Amanda I don’t know what to say honestly. I needed this today I really did, thank you so much. This community has been an absolute blessing. I woke up today in sort of an off mood stressed out and then I read this and it completely lifted my spirits. I do truly think you are right everything happens for a reason and I’m on this path right now for a reason. Comments like these really give me hope and a dose of reality too! Life doesn’t have to be this miserable thing after addiction, it can be even better than before. Again Amanda, thank you for being part of this community. Much love 🙏
@Slayer-7373 of course, Slayer! I'm so glad to be here, and I thank you again for creating this safe space. I'm so glad that I found this channel and could give you and the rest of our friends here the reminders that I myself need from time to time! You all do the same thing for me. So let's keep killin' it! 😁❤️💪🙏
What's up, Slayer. I appreciate the support you gave me through that relapse. My alcoholism has wrecked a lot of my life. You do do a good job and I have always liked your videos.
Hey 👋 shades of course brother, we are here to help one another. I as well appreciate your support my friend. Keep the videos coming man and take care.
Sup brother. Good to hear from ya. Alcohol has turned me into a monster like yelling at my parents one time. That’s not who I am. I felt so bad because I love my parents very much. That will never happen again. Alcohol is just bad news!
Hey what’s up man? Good to hear from you as well my friend. It’s turned most of us into monster sadly, but that’s not who we are deep down. I’ve talked to you many times and I can tell you’re a good dude. Alcohol is definitely bad news, be easy brother 🙏
I'm only 5 minutes into this video and want to tell you that your transparency and real rawness honesty is what makes you shine to help others you have thankfully left some of the hardest real truth videos up and the realness of your journey goes through us. You are younger than me and I look up to you in our battle. I appreciate you Stay Strong Slayer!!!
Thank you for this, brother Slayer. It's so true that alcohol dismantles a person's inner good and that it takes time to rebuild and for people to regain faith and trust in you. Bless you, Slayer.
In relation to people saying "Slayer, who are you to talk about sobriety?" You have an insight into alcohol and sobriety that most people don't have. Everyone's experience is valid. UA-cam channels that document early sobriety are more relatable for people than listening to someone who's got years of sobriety because they see themselves in you. For some people it can be intimidating following someone with years of sobriety, who has slick graphics, editing and all the latest microphones and studio set up - it seems impossible for a newly sober person to relate to them. But having a normal man on the street person such as yourself, filming himself on his phone, just riffing and giving his honest opinion can sometimes mean the world to those people.
Great video man ! The mess in the room is real i remember one time it was so bad i was binging cheapest wine and was pissing and sick on the carpet and mess everywhere broken glass wet clothes everywhere bin bags like a2 week old with fruit flies everywhere and left it there to ferment for like 2 weeks ahh good times
Hey thanks brother, I hope you’re doing well man. Also yea it’s really sad how low our addictions will take us. All we care about in that moment is the next drink!!! Nothing else. Remember man it’s one day at a time, much love. 🙏
Slayer you and LD are doing so much to help people! You're a blessing! Don't let anyone tell you that your not! That's all we can do is pick up the pieces and go on.❤
Hi Slay! Thanks for posting and don't give up. I'm still sober since the first message I posted on the first video I came acorss. We are not monsters though and you know that but alacohol DOES change you, it was so bad for me I couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror. It was, like I was there physically but I couldn't recognize myself, I saw the emptiness and sadness in my life. All these feelings of anger, sandness, doom, fear, panick and the crushing sandess hita you all at once you know is bad. Even when you have drank sooo much to the point that you feel sober when you drink and sick when you don't and tou drink again and you're cool and relaxed til something pops up randomly that pissed you off years ago and you become that monster we become that you talk about. It was so bad for me that people could never tell I was beyond drunk to the point of almost blacking out unless they smelled it, that is a scary sign. That guy sacred serpent was one of the first videos about 5 years ago cause I had no idea that you could withdraw from alcohol, no one really talks about it. I just didn't want to drink anymore mind you, this was 5 years ago and I was hooked, it creeped up and I quit cold turkey and had no idea what in the world was happening to me, until i searched it up and thats how I found about delirium tremens, sacred serpent describes it well, I thought I was going crazy, not just me but people around me. I'm feeling better and better each day. Keep going and posting videos. You helped ME and many others. We're clapping for you!
Hey nidia!!! Absolutely we aren’t monsters, our addiction can turn us into them tho for sure. In our hearts we are really good people I’ve come to find. Yourself for example you seem like such a kind hearted awesome person. That is absolutely amazing that you are still sober 🙏🙏 that makes me so happy!!!! Please keep going, I know you’ve got this. I can relate so much to this comment nidia I really can, you aren’t alone. Also yes sacred serpent is awesome!! We need more people talking about delirium tremens and withdrawal. Thanks so much for this comment, trust me I’ll keep the videos coming. Much love 🙏🖤

Hey Slayer - always so great to see you. You’re so right on all the points you made in this video. I definitely relate to the lying and manipulating is insane. I understand how overwhelming it feels to try to figure out life, career, relationships, etc. My recommendation, is just make smaller goals that feed into the larger goals you have. If you think of the bigger goals all at once it’s going to cause you sooooo much unnecessary anxiety. The focus now is your sobriety. The fact that you recognize your downfalls and are addressing them is half the battle. I can’t imagine you being a douche bag…but I know that addiction changes our character. Like you said morals are out the window. It doesn’t matter how much time you have in sobriety. You have your experience to share which is significant and important. If it weren’t for channels like this and other brave people sharing their life…I wouldn’t even know I have a drinking problem. Thank you do all you do. Don’t worry about the frequency of videos, if you can get to it great, but even a community post helps to know you’re ok. Let’s kick this shit in the face!! Much love from your friend in FL 💜! Have a great day!
It’s always great to see you micru!! You and a few others in the comments whenever I see that you did comment I instantly smile lol. My day is made better and 100% you are right about the goals. I need to take baby steps so I don’t overwhelm myself because that can be dangerous territory too for an alcoholic. Also unfortunately I definitely could be a giant d-bag in my addiction. Not always sometimes I was very loving but other times I was just an a^*hole lol. Also that’s really so beautiful that my channel and others have helped you so much micru, you deserve it, you are a good person with a good heart I can just tell. Thank you so much as always, i appreciate it more than you know!! Kick it right in the face. Much love 🙏

Hey man, just found your channel, today is a new day 1 for me. People say a drunk mind speaks a sober heart, I feel it's the opposite for people with addiction, i feel it turns us into something we're not. Accountability is important, and we are responsible for the things we do in active addiction, but it's important to remember that's not who we really are, we can leave that person behind and try to make things right on their behalf.
What’s up brother? I’m proud of you for day one!!! Taking that step is huge!!! Just keep at it my friend. You are 100% right about that actually. I’ve never thought of that before. I’ve never met someone who understands my struggles with alcohol addiction until I watched your videos. Thanks for sharing your story with us! It takes courage to say these things out loud and you’ve inspired me to really be serious about getting help. Right now, I’m not as low as I was last year with drinking but I am still struggling to stop. I used to drink from sun up to sun down for months on end until I would realize I’m ruining my life and then try to stop for 2-3 days until the withdrawals/anxiety get the best of me and I end up drinking all over again. Endless cycle. I hit rock bottom last year after a bender when I had just quit my job. My God. the withdrawals were more serious than I could EVER imagine. It was my first time experiencing hallucinations, seeing demonic images when I close my eyes, and I had these extreme vivid nightmares that felt too real. That scared me into getting help and I was sober for 28 days, which is the longest I’ve ever been sober since I’ve started drinking. A year later I’m still battling this evil addiction, it only hasn’t gotten THAT bad again because I’m in an amazing relationship, as oppose to last time when I was single, isolated myself from everyone and always alone in my room drinking. My partner knows that I drink frequently but they don’t know how bad it is. It’s getting to the point where I’m door dashing alcohol behind their back just so that I’ll always have my next fix. It is exhausting, brutal and humbling. I really don’t want to ruin this relationship and gotta stop messing around. You helped out this fire on my ass to get my shit together and I THANK YOU
This is what I’m talking about!!! This is why I make these videos, to wake people up get the help before it’s too late!!! I’m so proud to hear this, please keep me updated on your journey 🙏 be safe.
Hi I am new on your channel thanks for your honesty. One thing I wanted to share with you is that if you are trying to defeat this monster you can’t leave any other doors or windows open for him to have access to come back in for example any other strong hold of a sin like nicotine sooner or later out of no where and you won’t even be able to explain why you will relapse. This happened to me my brother and other people I know. If you quit alcohol you have to surrender everything else to shut all doors and windows repent and you will be protected from relapsing. Be blessed 🙏
@@God_is_My_Strenght hey 👋 welcome to the channel :)!! You know it’s really weird/interesting that you say that because I’ve felt that pressure from god recently. To stop doing nicotine all together and take my health 100% seriously. I won’t lie it’s extremely hard but all things are possible through Christ. Stevo the actor/podcaster said he believes our booze bone is connected to our weed bone and our weed bone is connected to our nicotine bone and so on. I think you’re right about being 100% sober is the best option!!! Thank you for this awesome comment. God bless 🙏

She’s caught up in the vicious cycle my friend, it’s really sad but that’s unfortunately usually what happens when we are knee deep in addiction. I think you’ve really tried to help, done all you could brother and it’s time to move on. You can let her know that if she wants to take sobriety seriously that you will always be there to help, but you can no longer be part of her life in addiction, but even that is up to you. Hey thanks Matt 🙏, I actually came up with that myself. I’ve never heard anyone else say it in that way before but it’s definitely a time capsule. We stay still as everything around us moves. Yet another reason booze is just so awful,
Saying you’re only a theif if you drink alcohol is the biggest excuse ever lol if you wanna stay sober you have to be completely accountable and admit your mistakes and stop saying it’s just because of the alcohol that’s literally part of the steps being honest with your self you can’t blame everything on alcohol you have to look in the mirror it’s YOU.
@@Slayer-7373 I’m not saying this as someone that thinks I’m above you because I’m not I’ve been in the cycle probably longer then you have and I’ve used hard drugs because I could never tolerate alcohol my body rejects it and I never had a problem with alcohol specifically but I do know alcohol arguably is worse then heroin especially the withdrawal but I used pills and various other substances because my body actually craved and tolerated them and I never puked on drugs like alcohol would have made me do but like I said the only people that I see in the program or aa and na and other treatment programs I’ve been apart of… THE ONLY people that changed are the people that took complete accountability and stopped pointing the finger and blaming it on things everyone else who always had an excuse or reason 100% of the time they could not maintain sobriety it’s all about a change of mentality and learning to have gratitude and forgiveness if you can do that then I believe you can stay sober 🫡 💯
@@Slayer-7373 by the way again im no where by any means perfect or better then you as I still smoke marijuana to cope but I’ve dropped every other hard drug and I hope I can quit smoking weed soon.

Its not an excuse to say you did something stupid because you drink. Thats just reality. People do dumb stuff when they drink that wouldn't of they were sober. Thsts just facts.

Much love 🙏

This is an excellent way of putting it. I was just talking to another sober UA-camr about this!!
Much love josh as always brother 🙏

Deep into addiction: "Here's a stack of change, give me a pint."

@@Slayer-7373I feel the same way, there really is so much positive light around you. Also, your laughter is contagious 😊. What I’ve learned about this thing called life is: 1) don’t overthink or the opportunity will pass you by, 2) it’s not all about money, make decisions based on what will make you happy and content.
Also congratulations on your recovery and 1k subscribers!

You helped out this fire on my ass to get my shit together and I THANK YOU
You helped put fire on my ass *
Stevo the actor/podcaster said he believes our booze bone is connected to our weed bone and our weed bone is connected to our nicotine bone and so on. one of the truest things ive ever heard in my life, the time capsule methaphor.
Fair enough my friend, god bless and thank you. I’ll take your advice 🙏
But in many cases it literally is the alcohol that causes you to do dumb stuff. Its still your fault. But your not yourself when your drunk tho. Its not an excuse to say you did something stupid because you drink. Thats just reality. People do dumb stuff when they drink that wouldn't of they were sober. Thsts just facts.
