I picked up the the accordion at an advanced age. I was 50 and bought the Panther accordion. After a couple of years I bought the Corona 11. Truthfully the Panther for me is much more comfortable to play. It's very light, the bellows are very easy to engage even with my bad back, the sound is awesome for the price, and the accordion is very resilient to whatever type of abuse you can give it. I love my GCF Panther.

was it a newer chinese corona ii? because on older corona ii’s you can actually feel the superior quality and they’re light, fast and loud

but yes the panther is very good especially for the price.

To my ear the panther sounds a bit tinny, the c 2 seems to have richer sound more noticeable when a cord is played.

The panther has a nice sound for the price but the C2 has a more refined sound. Nice playing by the way

The C-II definitely has a crisper sound. It's due to the aluminum materials the box is made out of.
      Also, thank you!

I have a compadre and a C-iii N Xtreme. There is no comparison. The compadre is lovely and clearly a well built box with a nice tone but the Corona is so easy to play with amazing tone and tuning. It is a little heavier than a C-ii because of the extra reeds and stops, but the bellows are clearly in a different league to the compadre (which i believe is slightly higher quality than the panther) and the button action is so smooth. The cheaper boxes will always perform reasonably from Hohner but you do get what you pay for. I had pretty much the last Corona iii Xtreme (certainly the last FBE) to come out of the German factory and I am so glad I took the plunge and snapped it up.

Confused. So the Corona II Extreme is much better than the Corona II? I say so, but what is your opinion? Is the CII Extreme heaver than the CII? I saw a video comparing the Panther and the Compadre, where the comparer said that they were basically the same. ¿Que piensa?

On your comparison of C2 vs panther sound .
The panther sounds a little more tinny, more a of a tining sound. The C2 seemed to be more throaty, more warmer. I kinda like the the tinny sound,it seems to resonate further in a crowed. For polkas I think the Pearce sound is more audible during dancing out on the dance floor. Any way sorry for being so lengthy.

The CII sounds a bit richer. Almost seems like it needs more air and effort to get the same sound level? Is the CII German made? I own an older Panther. To me the difference in sound quality is not worth the triple price of the CII. I wish the panther had a better bass strap than the cheap faux leather crap strap that it comes with. That thing stretches out huge with time and play. Matthias Hohner would not approve of some of the cost cutting corners Hohner has taken.

Creo que nos estan vendiendo el color y que que esta echo en alemania. Los materiales y los botones. Por que el sonido es el mismo. Solo la caja de resonancia lo cambia pero solo un poquito

íHay que Bueno! The Hohner Corona has a richer sound. Thanks for this video. How about a video comparing the Corano II with the Corona II Extreme?
Where did y'all get the Yamaha CP-80 in the background? It brings back memories.

Me too, I own a Cii and have tried panthers before, the Panther might be a little louder, but the keyboard does feel better and the bellows will last longer in my type of use. Consider a corona II they’re like $1200 maybe less used

I believe the panther is the winner by all means, because in my opinion, the corona C2 is kind of lower in volume, that’s my opinion. The panther has louder. Sound quality versus the corona C2.

yeah i was following along with my guitar ; i like to remove the first string on it so it would sound more like a bajo then a guitar but any way, notice that your speed was slightly choppy on the less expensive one ,i assume because you had to press down slightly harder.
i own a hohner my self , and notice the same thing. what can I do to the buttons or springs,or just in general to mine to make the buttons bownce back quicker but smoother ?

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately at this time, we only have Hohner models in the shop, unless on the off chance we have some used accordions that we can demo in a video.

Corona II los botones estan bien para hacer trinos 👌
Los botones de un Panther con el tiempo se ponen flojos y no se puede hacer trinos.
