- This walk begins at the free car park at the top of Corney Fell Road..
From here you follow the wall up to the first two summits of the day of Kinmont Buck Barrow and Buck Barrow... before heading further north in the direction of Burn Moor, where an obvious path branches off towards Whitfell

Shame you did not get clearer weather but given the weather we have had so far this year it was not too bad. A lot of these outlying fells remind me of the Tors down in Dartmoor, not that I have been but watched a few YT channels from there. The Fatboys only put up very infrequent videos but they are superb and been out with Mary and Derick a canny few times and always remember when Derick tried to kill me with a scenic route he told me to follow him up on! Me and my son were at Buttermere a few weeks ago at 07.45 (fair enough it was the weekend) but we could not get a parking spot where I was wanting - all full. I have been trying to lose weight for the last 30 years and it was a bit worrying when I almost hit 17 stone at Christmas, just weighted myself at the gym this morning and down to 16st 1lb, only another 2 stone to go🥵, cheers Alan
Fantastic mate.. weight with me has been an issue my whole life.. i know al never be 'in shape' but as long as i keep losing enough to keep enjoying indian takeaways al be happy wid tha haha.. Yea av met Mary at work in Currys.. I randomly said to her' ive seen you on youtube videos as i sold her n airfryer' aye good group they are.. wow limited parking at 7.45am eh.. thats why ive avoided going out this weekend.. was gonna tek mother up gowbarrow but remembered its bank holiday weekend and thought better of it.. thanks for watching as always Alan, tek care lad :)

Ey up Marra, thanks for the shout out mate, really appreciate it. You have to love these outlying fells.....there is just no one there. If it's solitude in the hills you want then they are a must. Will have to try out some of them. I've always thought those either side of the road over Birker Fell look very interesting.

Yea those Birker fells are from what ive seen the most 'distinct' outlying fells. Great reference point to work out where you are.. looks a nice ridge walk.. thanks lad, tek care :)

yea am looking forward to that one.. never been to devoke as i suspect most haven't.. think theres about 11 more in that area so ill try get em all in 1 big day :)

Find these walks very interesting as I really don't know the outlying fells at all well. These areas may not be dramatic but getting away from the 'crowd' more than compensates. Really looking forward to you sharing these walks with us..
yea am exactly the same but once you walk them they are embedded in the mind.. id like one day to be anywhere in cumbria and be able to point and real off every single hill i can see... thats my goal.. dont think it'll ever impress anyone but me :D

Your doing some good outliers to start with Dave , I keep meaning ro go back to these ones but it's such a long way , especially now the road is closed from the north side for a while. Great video
Aye they are a painful drives but you can soften the blow by going down the 591.. but the 593 between Ambleside to these fells is so twisty and narrow in some sections tires you out before getting to the walks often.. Whitfell tho I think tho is one of the best viewpoints av been on in the lakes so far. 🙂

yea no crowds to fight for parking up these fells.. think its just called a 'walk by'.. just breaks up the constant drone of my voice and gives scale to the area.. thanks for watching :)
Can you access the car park I thought the road had been closed
You can if you are coming from east Cumbria but access from the west side diverts you around to the east to avoid the closed bridge..
