- Yooooo, so I shared how I got my residence permit in Abuja, Nigeria in 2020 and showed you what my application looked like.

I got admitted in Umea university. You made mention about the bank statement and how it's done. Mine has been done just like you've said but then I thought it's not ok and one need to provide a bank statement with figures in it showing (credited and debit).

Hi Simeon! Thank you so much for the comprehensive information. I merely have two questions to ask. So, as part of the application, the Swedish migration agency requires the student to provide comprehensive health insurance including dental benefits and so I did. Now I figured out that the insurance I bought doesn't cover the dental benefits. So, do you think this would make any problem? Also, how much In Dollar did you have that they requested more?
Why are you getting a separate insurance, didn't your school provide one, if they didn't email them to ask if they could recommend one for you.
An health insurance is a requirement by migration so you have to get one

There's no need to show a history. They are quite okay with just seeing the amount needed in the statement

Visa is more for shorter periods while residence permit is when you intend to stay fro at least a year.

you will be able to renew in Sweden but remember you can't get a permit more than the validity of your current passport

Good content. Jonkoping university asked me to upload my thesis, that I have insufficient theoretical ECT 15. Because of this, I was unqualified. It sounds crazy for them to have used ECT 15 when I have enough credits and 6 units for a final project (thesis)

Yes it is different, when you are awarded the SI Scholarship, you don't have to worry about anything money, the Swedish Government handles it for you. The SI scholarship is a fully-funded program

No you don’t have to
He actually reside in Sweden so he paid the 47000sk from his account to flywire but I sent him 3,100,000 naira is that the exchange rate for 47000sk to naira? Or the cause there wasn't any international charge since I didn't pay from Nigeria

No you can’t, your permit is the only proof that you can reside in the country legally when it comes to education.

You just have to show how much is in the account with the bank name, your name showing, so it doesn't have to be a transaction history

The proof of fund fro application is for the period you are applying but if you can get to the end of your program it makes your life easier then. Check migration's website on the exact figure as it is revised yearly

The Swedish Migration Agency has signed an agreement with some higher education institutions. This means, among other things, that university students who have to pay a tuition fee at these universities can apply for up to two years of residence permits at a time. if my university is among the above mention should my proof of fund be that of two years or a single year will be ok

Just your statement 3 months before the week you applied. Nothing to worry about

If you go for a bsc again then your previous degree doesnt matter. For a graduate program, that should be possible there's no rule that says otherwise. I think most of the schools have a lot of international students.

You can apply for a one year permit to seek a job after your studies (regardless of the length)

The money should be (transferred to) in your account

You should wait for an email from them, don't think you can just show up without them asking you to.

Hi Simeon, please the lady that interviewed me was making a case of not seeing the date the money was lodged but I explained that the money was sent in days before the specific date that the embassy asked me to print my statement from. Should I be worried please
I have no idea about this. You are allowed to reach out to the Migration agency asking for your case officer details. If you get this, you can message asking the impact and suggesting to send a complete statement showing this if you are concerned about this,

13months. Do check if your school is amongst the few schools that allow for 2 years at once (but of course this is dependant on the length of your program). You can start counting from August.

Please how much is expected to be in ones account minimum or maximum before the residence permit would fly? Some have talked about having the complete school fees for the two years and 8700SEK multiplied by 24months for living expenses. In my case , everything will be about #25million. Pls a reply here will help. Thanks
You DON'T need the to have the school fees in your account. You only need proof your living expense after you paid your first fees

The proof of fund is without the tuition. Just the upkeep money for the period you are applying for

Yes you can, however when they become 18 they are treated as adults so they have to have their reason for being here and just being your children doesnt automatically give them a permit

It depends on you but I would say you can apply as soon as you pay depending on how many days you think it would take for it to arrive

How long is the validity of a bank statement? If one puts PoF for a family and I apply with it for myself and afterwards say like a month or two later, can my dependents use that same POF statement to continue or make their application, since the funds there initially was meant for the family?

A month to three months statement is fine. It depends on how many family members you are traveling with. 122,850 SEK for the student. 51,187.50 SEK for the spouse. And 30,712.50 SEK if you have a kid. If you have more than 1 kid you multiply the amount. Now convert the total in dollars

One statement is okay but the required fund should be in the name of the person that is coming to school(if that is your case)

You can but then you would have to renew during your education to renew your permit when you get here
So in short No, it's not a problem to entry but you have to get a new one later

I have no idea on Civil Engineering Masters, but I would assume Masters programs are more specific so you might not find it like that. However you can search for all the Masters programs open to Internationals on universityadmissions.se

They don't, they want to see that the money is in your account that has your name on it

Hey Ifeanyi, I don’t think you can pay with your naira debit card anymore as there’s now a $100 limit so you would need to use another card e.g a dollar card

It is done physically in an Embassy. It took me 1 week to be able to set an appointment date. You have to reach out for the date though
but you would get a mail when to do so.

Pls i understand you are from Nigeria.I wish to ask if u have any idea this year about immigration rejecting students even before going to the embassy.like in Cameroon this year,we have had like 20students rejected by the immigration when they have not gone to the embassy.my friend had paid her fees and wanted to apply for residence permit.They send her fees back to her .She didn't pay the fees late .
Nina ayuk...I had same issue last year..I was admited but couldn't go to sweden cos there was travel band ..may be her program dosnt demand her presence due to the covid restriction ..dats y her fees was sent back..well it also depends cos this year I was admited to a program that requires studing on campus

The migration is to give you a response to your application, so you go to the embassy when they need more information or your application is successful. Also paying your fees late is not a direct reason for rejection as my first one was late. There should be a reason for the rejection and they can also appeal the decision
is it advisable to remove the money after the interview or to get to Sweden before removing it?
That’s your choice, however if for any reason they request for another statement then you have to produce that again
