- Everybody hates cleaning interior windows-especially windshields. Am I right?
And while window cleaning isn’t “sexy,” it’s SUPER important. If you mess up windows, the detail was basically a failure . . . like, seriously. Sally drives into the sun after just paying you $250 . . . and she sees a giant streak on her interior windshield that blinds her vision. Do you think she will recommend you to her friends?
Which is why I’m so excited about this product: bit.ly/GlassCleanerHawkPro
This stuff is insane! Let me know what tricks/products work for you on interior windshields.

Here's a quick tip I picked up off of Larry Kosilla from AMMO NYC, wiping the outside one direction(left to right) wipe the inside the opposite direction(up and down). The reason for this is if you see a streak that runs up and down you automatically know it's on the inside. Not trying to bust your balls like some people on here, just thought I'd share something that has really helped me. 🤙
Larry is the man! love that guy.
@@learnitfromwilliam Yeah, me too! He is one of the very few that actually uses a chemist (his wife) to create new products rather than buying stuff and slapping his label on it. I love watching his paint correction videos featuring Kevin Brown! 🤙
i had no clue his wife was a chemist and helped develop his products. It was just recent I found him...@@bobbymorgret
thats cool, i like that
bobbymorgret great thanks
They made almost this exact product in the 80s that worked twice as good. I never knew why they stopped making it but I've waited years for them to come out with something simular to it and they finally did. This stuff works great. Their is still nothing that polishes glass as good as bon Ami but it is a lot more work when this product is quick and easy.
I love everything McKee’s makes. Their tire cleaner, floor mat and cargo liner rejuvenator, paint coating, 10 minute paint sealant, headlight polish, fast metal polish, Hydro Blue, Extender Spray Wax, N914 Rinseless Wash.
why hadn't I seen more pros using McKee's though? like they strike me as an "enthusiast" brand and yet I've been extremely impressed with all three products I've tried so far...
Hawk Pro Detailing I don’t really have an answer as to why. It’s great to see you using and reviewing their products. I’ve been using them for 2 years now. If I had to choose one brand of detailing products for all my detailing needs, it would be McKee’s 37. Make sure you contact Nick and get set up with a detailers account. 25% off all purchase and twice a year 50% off everything. You can get hydro blue in 5 gallons for $175!
@@HawkProDetailing I thought the same about McKee's , I tried the N-914 and it immediately became my go to rinseless - very versatile. A fellow detailer swears by their tire dressing...
There was a glass cleaner that was pink and in a can that was sold many years ago and it was the best glass cleaner ever. It was applied like this but I guarantee the one I’m talking about was 10 times better then any glass cleaner out today. I’ve tried almost every glass cleaner and nothing comes close.
That was called “Glass Wax”
I love that stuff! It takes everything off the glass! Especially cigarette smoke.
you've tried it then? glad I'm not crazy! lol I seriously think it's amazing even though glass still sucks...
I steam my glass on the 1st pass and do a 50/50 IPA/Distilled water mix on the 2nd pass to finish them off. Flawless if you ask me. Honestly the steam is plenty good enough imo (I do residential window steam cleaning also,) but I like to finish it off mostly for any possible missed spots, over spray, or rag streaks. I tend to steam glass early as I'm in the area so its more of just a touch up with the IPA mix... gets that last couple of percent to make them perfect.
The one thing I fight with is lint because I use high GSM towels rather than waffle weave. I think they're far superior BUT the drawback is they can leave some hard to deal with lint. I can't stand waffle weave towels. Its just a nature of the beast I've accepted. I can get most of it off with a new dry towel but it is annoying to chase lint.
that's a good strategy. I always steam the dashboard in that corner area and it gets overspray on windows lol so I definitely clean that up at the end...
What mic are you using for this video ?
That'll be hell on my rotator cuffs 😂😂😂
exactly..too much work
that's detailing my guys! interior windshields are so much work...
I have not tried it i prefer cleaners that are safe for tinted windows just to be safe. I use an alcohol based from my local commercial cleaning company because its strong and finish it off with Invisible Glass. A tip....try being on the passenger side and grab the steering wheel with one hand and you should be able to get the drivers side without fighting the steering wheel from being on the drivers side. It also helps doing the entire windshield at the same time. Great video can't wait for the next one
thanks my man! windows are the worst. so the alcohol based product -- what's the name of the product and why follow it up? Just curious cause if it's good I wanna try it lol
The company here is Swish and its Sparkle is the name but the alcohol based is strong but i find it streaks and Invisible Glass is super easy to not have streaks but i find its only strong enough for normal windows and struggles with heavily soiled windows. I always had a hard time with streaks on glass until i used Invisible Glass
Before you respond try to use wax, i promise you it’ll cut down your time. Glass and interior has always been my thing to look at before I even look at anything. Another good thing to use is the meguire quick detailing spray.
Did you review all the different McKee's products?
Not yet! Hopefully some more though very soon
Absolutely hate cleaning glass in my car. Detailed my car last week and fought the windows for 2 hours, finally got the streaks gone....then 2 or 3 days later the sun hit it just right and it looked like I had painted it with clearcoat on a worn out paint brush! 😡
Try a dedicated paint prep like this: bit.ly/DIYPanelPrep. OR buy 70% isopropyl alcohol from walgreens. use either of these with a clean microfiber towel, constantly switching to clean sides, and you'll be amazed at the streaks gone
I like the consistency of the cleaner but can’t use in on the inside of my vehicle because it is tinted all the way around. If only it was tint safe
I've been using it on tinted windows with no problem lol but I can't officially recommend that:)
Hawk Pro Detailing great to know
Great audio dude. Your arms must be sore AF after that cleaning 😀
haha that is me every day. you know what's interesting? I shot this on my Samsung (or Brendan did lol) and then I adjusted audio in post. as opposed to other recent videos...when I used a rode mic connected to a DSLR camera. who knows....
Hawk Pro Detailing “Someones got to do the labour” says the ones who do nothing. 🤣
It says not in direct sunlight: works in direct sunlight.
It says work in singular motion: doesn‘t work in singular motion.
It says let dry for one minute then wipe clean with a dry cloth: uses another chemical to wet his cloth.
Thanks man! Great tips…
lol I don't really use this product anymore. Magic eraser and window cleaner of you choice plus proper microfiber towels/work clean swap sides is the best method...
Optimum Opti-Seal is what I like to use
major difference between CAR WASH VS DETAIL, Detailing is more time consuming. GOOD EXAMPLE VIA GLASS CLEANING (PROCESS)
totally! windows can take 30 minutes at the end of a detail. which sounds crazy and is probably an exaggeration...but interior windshields can just fight you all day long
Ok my 2 things to comment about is first what’s the price ?
Second is how dose it look like from the inside ?
I’m asking this is because I been doing car detailing close to 10 years and so far the only thing that is working for me is what another person said on the comments and that’s combining steam and a good glass cleaner or 50/50 IPA , first the steam and then the cleaner , and even that way i’m still struggling with making it perfect, it’s always something 🙄 . That is why I’m asking to see how it looks from the inside against the sun!! That way you can see if is good or not , but thanks for the video and the info 😄👍
This vid was a while ago. Honestly its not something I use anymore. I would just rely on a magic eraser, rinseless wash and then ipa as my final wipe down solution. The beat towel for windows I've ever found is from klin
Question is how is this better than alcohol seems more expensive and more work.
well...if you've done hundreds of interior windshields like I have (and maybe you have and I'm an idiot newbie) you will understand how horrible interior windshields are. off gassing and all kinds of film....this particular product is designed to go after that film and in my experience SO FAR...it has been incredibly easy to work with. streaks come off super easy and they're easy to find, which is great. but windows still suck lol
@@HawkProDetailing sounds great I think ppl are intrested how it compares to there owe methods I understand its difficult thing to film. Your video are great.
no worries! what's cool is this product is less than $20 on Amazon so it won't break the bank to experiment with it.😎
@@HawkProDetailing interesting seems like a cleaner wax of some sort.
Looks good but I still hate windows
Dude windows are the worst. My new thing is a final wipe down with paint prep to get those stubborn streaks
Looks like the old time GlassWas.
If you do the same thing with MAGUIRE'S CAR CLEANER WAX it will have the same effect.
Why not just wax? It’s the same thing. When I was growing up I use to always hear older men say the best way to clean class was with wax. And to be honest it looks like the same formula.
That’s what I do
Dude sprayway does this better with a single application and I can guarantee you it's much much cheaper to buy.
I've come a long way since then 😂 isopropyl alcohol 70 percent is kinda my go to now
@@HawkProDetailing oh man I love my Isopropyl alcohol too. I'm always performing little experiments to see if I can add it and make certain stuff dry faster but it's obviously always mixed results.
But when it comes to glass, especially big panels and stuff I run into at home I just can't give up the Sprayway.
Reads directions during video, doesn’t follow them. 😂😂😂
It's a good product though!!
"How's that look from your angle brendon?"
"ehh it's ok.. my names not brendon"
FUHHHH Q brando. You're useless..
**turns around** Where's my hype man at this guys gatta go..
Lol brendan is long gone 😂 Good kid though
Yeah it’s pretty nasty I think I wouldn’t be able to se if I was driving
Any product can clean a windshield any good product for water marks tree tart
pure di water and ipa mix. does a better job for a couple pennies. glass cleaners are a scam as it's 99 percent pure water. don't be fooled and make your own glass cleaner with ipa or one for like 10 cents a gallon
Hahahaha this guy cant follow directions.
