It is not good decision. Same condition like train late will happen after this also. There are more line needed between Howrah to Gaya section because massive goods train & passenger train demand.

So after some years, it will be the same as now and after 4 5 years new Tajpur Port will be built, That port cargo also going to use this for go to UP, Bihar, and Punjab. Howrah Burdwan section local train also runs so much. Railways need to think about that also.

The signaling system and track quality of dedicated fraight corridor is really world class. Yes there already 4 lines exist, but it is not enough for this particular industrial area. Plus most coal and other products usually come from Jharkhand and Chattisgarh so 4-6 tracks laying is the solution. Lot of trains originating from Bihar plus lots of good trains coming from Jharkhand and Chattisgarh make Delhi-Kolkata line very congested. You never see delays in West Bengal and Jharkhand because that area is not that congested. I always go to West Bengal quite a few times from Delhi so I know most trains and congestion come from Bihar and Jharkhand
The local trains running between barddhaman dankuni are 30-60 minits late everyday. Frades train are weating in lop line many hours. I think dfc must be separated from railway line. Otherwise it increases the time of train lating.
for this idea to be successful - there should be 6 tracks between Dankuni and Sonnagar. if this idea was applied to the whole dfc project, we would have had a faster completion at a lower cost, as railways own most of the adjacent land (to existing tracks) unauthorisedly encroached.

There was no problem in financing the full length of WDFC. The problem is only with this section where the people of WB will be benefited! If 1 lakh crore can be spent on Delhi -Mumbai expressway, if 2 lakh crore can be spent on Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project why a fractional of that amount cannot be spent on this important project?This has been possible because the party in power in WB isn’t concerned with this. They don’t raise the issue in the parliament. They are more concerned with Durga puja clubs!

It's not a great decision, Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai are the most busy track and after Bardhaman, Eastern railway suburban is hyperbusy with local trains and already sharing the tracks with a Express trains on the chord line.

The D in DFC stands for dedicated which means only for freight. Now the new proposal involves mixing IR and freight traffic, which means passenger and freight trains travel on all four tracks, as is now. So freight will not be able to travel very quickly.
It is not a good decision, already eastern railway is overloaded. 4 tracks are not enough. In the current situation freights are anyways stopped to make ways for passenger train

Today main problem is how we should to meet the electrcity demand of progressing india , coal supply to the power plants located in various parts of india . Coal producing state chhatisgarh and jharkhand are suffering from cancelation of passengers trains . No.of tracks are such that either you can run passengers train or coal trains . 3 tracks available that is not sufficient, Railway should make 5to 6 tracks . Odissa stae also suffering from such problem.
success of suggested model is only possible if freight train are given priority at DFC & IR sharing sections. However, knowing how passenger trains are given priority over goods, suggested model won't succeed on the lines of original rationale behind having DFC.
Bad decision. Defeats the purpose of a dedicated freight corridor. Spent so much money, but back to square one - a congested railway where freight and passenger trains share the same track.

This is not a good idea. As 1. How double stacked goods trains will work in theses tracks? 2. There is no crossing in dfc. How it will work here? 3. How they will reduce the operational complexity?
they can combine separate tracks for bullet train and dfc. such a big infrastructure can be used efficiently. make it a bit broader if required. also create a lot of sidings not to clash
Double container freight has a higher level of elecric traction as compared to normal trains. How will interchangibility of tracks happen? Whole concept of dedicated corridor is getting defeated.
There is very little chance of this model to get success. Delhi- Howrah route of IR with it's already existing three & four lines is already highly saturated with N numbers of passenger & freight trains. Planning & laying of these lines are of pre independence point of view of traffic. Now total scenario has been changed with the time. Marely putting an extra line with IR line & use it as DFC will decrease the capacity of IR & DFC both. Don't degrade these historical line. Further more it is like inviting probable devastating accidents between freight & express or local trains. Being very populous state, there are huge numbers of local EMU train run through these lines. Use vast railway land lay idle by the side of present IR line & construct two separate EDFC line over those land to make it a success.

Gaya se Dhanbad ke beech main ne kaam ho chuka hai main ne dekha hai. Railway ki zamin ko khoob bade boundary se cover kiya gaya hai.

It's not a great decision, Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai are the most busy track and after Bardhaman, Eastern railway suburban is hyperbusy with local trains and already sharing the tracks with a Express trains on the chord line.
Simply because TMC Government is not doing the land acquisition required for the railway lines ...

The D in DFC stands for dedicated which means only for freight. Now the new proposal involves mixing IR and freight traffic, which means passenger and freight trains travel on all four tracks, as is now. So freight will not be able to travel very quickly.

Today main problem is how we should to meet the electrcity demand of progressing india , coal supply to the power plants located in various parts of india . Coal producing state chhatisgarh and jharkhand are suffering from cancelation of passengers trains . No.of tracks are such that either you can run passengers train or coal trains . 3 tracks available that is not sufficient, Railway should make 5to 6 tracks . Odissa stae also suffering from such problem.
2 separate lines must be laid for dedicated freight transport.

success of suggested model is only possible if freight train are given priority at DFC & IR sharing sections. However, knowing how passenger trains are given priority over goods, suggested model won't succeed on the lines of original rationale behind having DFC.

Double container freight has a higher level of elecric traction as compared to normal trains. How will interchangibility of tracks happen? Whole concept of dedicated corridor is getting defeated.

There is very little chance of this model to get success. Delhi- Howrah route of IR with it's already existing three & four lines is already highly saturated with N numbers of passenger & freight trains. Planning & laying of these lines are of pre independence point of view of traffic. Now total scenario has been changed with the time. Marely putting an extra line with IR line & use it as DFC will decrease the capacity of IR & DFC both.
Don't degrade these historical line. Further more it is like inviting probable devastating accidents between freight & express or local trains. Being very populous state, there are huge numbers of local EMU train run through these lines. Use vast railway land lay idle by the side of present IR line & construct two separate EDFC line over those land to make it a success.
