The lightspeed bundles were fantastic for me. I was nowhere near Rey, with no plans on getting her anytime soon. Now I'm only a few steps away from her, adding a good 4th GL to my roster without deviating from my current farms too much.
same for me, whole restistance faction was like g8, some even at 3-4 stars. now only thing i need is raddus. and i dont care if i need like 6 months for it, its basically a no work GL
For those that have played the game for 5+ years, the issue is that much of the advanced content like GLs, Fleets, etc. weren’t around and so you had no choice but to grind out your characters. Now that there are eight Galactic Legends, 10 Capital Ships, raids and other events makes grinding an even longer process. So they are willing to bypass the grinds to get you access to higher content which = $$$$$$$$$.
I haven't played this game in months, maybe a year... it's wild how much things have NOT changed in the game... I saw the title of this video and knew it would be a good one to watch... it didn't entice me to come back and play, but the video didn't fail to entertain... I would LOVE to have been a fly on the wall when some yahoo in a red robe, chain, and half-legged slot glasses shows up to buy $600 worth of google cards ;) Thanks for all you do, Grand Admiral
I unlocked Rey a couple of months ago and l can say right now she is still a good mediocre gl, but desperately trying to find greater use in the current meta compared to other gls. She truly shines on GAC defense and even on offense at higher relics (especially at R8 and R9) and when coupled with Ben Solo
I calcutled out how much it would cost to get GL Rey day 1 I got about $1200 on the low end and $2000 on the high end $100 for hyperdrive and lightspeed bundles $200 for Vault of Crystals; Raddus Packs for 5 star Raddus $65 Light Side Currency Bundle $773 - $1530 for Gear, Mods, Zetas, Omicrons, and Relic Scraps $63 -$104 for Sales Tax depending on where you live
I was 7.5mil with at least a good deal of the reqs for all the GLs already... besides Rey and SLKR because they're so disconnected from everything else. Almost all my reqs for them were G8 or lower (though I had farmed the ships because I had a goal to finish all node ship farms in the game). So these packs were absolutely perfect for me. Farewell F2P. I'll be unlocking SLKR in a couple days and Rey in a few months.
This made me laugh so much that Google locked his account for scam protection. Even Google recognizes that its a scam. This is an amazing showcase that even with spending on these, you would still have to go full Kraken level spending to even fill in the gaps to get what you would need to actually get the GL Rey or SLK.
And I'll confess, I bought all the lightspeed packs except Starkiller...but I certainly looked at it several times a day until it disappeared today, lol. I tried to justify the time savings in my mind but $50 for just four characters I already have plus I need the mats to get Starkiller up afterwards anyways...just wasn't worth it. Had they given us Starkiller at Relic 5, I would have spent the money lol.
Ngl, this video deserves to be seen by way more people. And use this video as an educational example of be financially smart or even parents with children. I love that he can do the stuff like this it's awesome to see.
For an established player, you could 100% whale a bit and get GL Rey...but for a new account...ouch. -Both BB8 and Scavenger Rey need to be bumped up to relic 7, which would drain all your resources and force you to spend so much money on packs and refreshes in order to get the materials for relics, because you essentially have nothing to scavenge. -You'll need to spend another $100+ to get Raddus to 7* because you need a capital ship at 7*. -You'll need to spend more money on the lightside GL tickets, which can add up. -Then on top of it...you have zero mods. By the time you are doing tier one and tier two, you might not be able to even beat the event as mods can play a factor! More losses means more grinding/buying tickets. Then if you can miraculously unlock GL Rey, you have very few materials to bump her up enough to even be viable. Absolutely crazy amount of money, time, and frustration.
@@Binzob Ahnald took almost 15 months to unlock SLKR on his F2P account. While making minor progress towards Jedi Revan and SEE, his only g13 characters went to SLKR requirements. You're not unlocking in 6-8 months from scratch, mate.

I bought 2 packs with resistance characters (already had jtr r7 and bb8 g12), so I ONLY had to get bb8 to r7 and scav rey from r5 to r7, it took me one week of farming gear/relics plus around 100 USD in crystals plus 3 lightside ticket packs to unlock Rey today. Well played CG.
This is why with a new hyperdrive/lightspeed account I just appreciated what I got with those great deals and put myself in no rush to get the rest. I appreciate my head start and will be patient and unlock Rey early 2024. If I had just went FTP from scratch Rey would probably be 2025 at the earliest otherwise.

I did end up dropping 20.00 to get both the packs I needed to get the relic 5 Characters and now all I need to do is Relic 7 BB8 and Jedi Training Rey and I'm good to go but I'm huring for the Relic Material. Without anymore spending, it will take me at least another month to hit Relic 7 on both the needed Characters.
If I was a new player who was willing to spend a bit of money on this game, I’d probably go with the Lightspeed Bundle and the First Order Pack. This way I’d have a decent boost working towards SLKR which I’d hopefully unlock in a few months. You’d also have to have extraneous knowledge about the game to know what your getting yourself into buying packs like these anyway! Thanks for taking the bullet and showing how expensive something like this really is!
Decided to finally break the seal and spend real money after 5 years of playing the game and bought the Kylo bundle I'm just missing 2 characters to unlock the event Need zetas as well but it was a huge time saver since I never bothered to farm the sequel characters beyond G8 besides Sith trooper for the Leviathan so if you already have any GLs that isn't Kylo the BB8 bundle is king to unlock him!
As someone who got contacted by the Google money laundering team (being the first to unlock Grievous*), I can totally relate. *I was the first on the forums to declare the unlock. I can't assume someone not on there had managed it before me... in January 2016.

Its probably better for people thats been playing for 2-3 years. Ive been at it since launch and was nice cause i never touched resistance 😂, ugh I just bought the Raddus speed bundle last night AFTER the event was already gone, but and am not happy cause i didnt really want to spend, I needed 1 and a half stars left on both Falcons, but relic 5 Bossk, Carth and T3 was nice. But it wouldve probably still been worth it to get for new players for a fast GL when you get enough gears, and upgrades for other stuff later.

Its probably better for people thats been playing for 2-3 years. Ive been at it since launch and was nice cause i never touched resistance 😂, ugh I just bought the Raddus speed bundle last night AFTER the event was already gone, but and am not happy cause i didnt really want to spend, I needed 1 and a half stars left on both Falcons, but relic 5 Bossk, Carth and T3 was nice.
But it wouldve probably still been worth it to get for new players for a fast GL when you get enough gears, and upgrades for other stuff later.
