Meeh. I can charge my 10 amp batteries in 30 mins from my solar. Plug in single charger. I got about 1800 watts. panels. They need about 500w minimum to be effective..... the reading is probably .4 amps. It's about 1 amp per 100 watts...
You never mentioned that this unit does NOT have pass through capability. I am only interested in solar generators with Solar generators that have pass through capability which most folks also want take note EGO. They have excellent products and I own most of them including the snow blower
I'm new to the EGO family of products, but I'd be interested in seeing how my Jackery 500 compares. It would certainly be simpler. I have the Jackery 100 Watt solar panel. Plug that into the Jackery, plug your EGO charger of choice into the Jackery, and charge. The Jackery 100 Watt panel is currently $209 on Amazon and the Jackery 500 is currently $299. If you purchase them together, the price is $499. If you have an EGO product, you already have a battery charger. I don't have two 5 Ah EGO batteries, though, so my charging requirements will be different. Thanks for the video.
12 hours to charge 4 batteries then? This isn’t a great option in an emergency. You’d need two nexus’ and 8 batteries if you want to rely on solar
Question : why cant you use any solar panel ? same connectors , same wattage ?
You can use any solar panel as long as it meets the specs of the nexus, if it over exceeds the specs it can cause damage to the nexus
I know u were doing this video for ego but u could use the xt60 to one of your ecoflow units to see how much Wattage that panel puts out

While a nice complement to the batteries for charging, but the cheesy solar module and ridiculously over priced solar panel, is NOT worth the money. For that cost, a nice quiet inverter and a gallon of gas will out charge it. I love EGO products, but this thing is a waste of money. $349 for 100 watts of "maybe" power, plus the $169 for the module is ridiculous.
PLUS the overpriced Nexus and expensive batteries. Pass.
Ugh. Just cant get behind this. $169 for the controller and $399 for the panel. Be much better off for the same price to get a pecron 600. Or the oopes 600(when its back in stock). Or even the evoflow pro...and with any of those a panel of your choice where you can get bigger and better for less. And just charge the ego batteries with solar on the side. Such a much better option
yep, this system looks nice, but too cumbersome and expensive. I'll buy the Ego 400-watt inverter and skip this setup.
I am about to buy this complete equipment, my doubt is, can the power station be used with the panels working? That is my big question!!
That’s the bad news. This model doesn’t support pass-through charging when you’re charging it you can’t use it.

Three important questions first, what is it that you’re trying to power second how much power does it require? Also any surge or start up wattage And third how long do you wanna run it? That’ll give me an idea.

@eudabravo46 but that battery capacity what’s your wattage when the compressor kicks on what’s the wattage? Can’t leave those things out unless you have a few thousand to spend?

You can add a 2nd panel. You need to connect them in parallel with a parallel connector.
I think the maximum is 180 w max, either 2 panels or 1

Nope, but hopefully one day with a new unit in the future

@@TechMadeEzy Good point! Hopefully EGO will come out with a much better pass through power station system in another year that I will buy. It will happen soon because what they have now is not acceptable.
I agree it’s been a long time. It would really be nice to see that upgraded power station.
Not sure it’s about getting money back. I think it’s about being able reliable charge the batteries using the sun. In some cases that might be your only option.
