She's going to an Awesome Truck since she's getting the Weird Beard Treatment 👍👍👍👍👍
Always a pleasure to watch this very talented old school mechanic work. To watch him make and install replacement parts is always a treat. Much respect to you WB.
I've learned more from you and Fitzee in Newfoundland, who fabricates body repairs. Thanks so much for your craftsmanship and eye for details. Saves so much money when you learn how to do things the right way instead of always buying. You also do almost everything solo without an entourage. I'm alone most of the time and it gives you the opportunity to figure it out instead of always having to get other opinions. When I really get stumped, I think of how you and Fitzee would do it and it always leads to the solution I can apply to other projects. Thank you, again for your channel. Denny 82 years old, just fixing up old cars and anything else that needs fixing.
Cleaning that floor was so cool, so satisfying....it's an escape from our reality....no swearing, no cussin' no shooting, no violence...just normal stuff...thank you.
You have swearing cussing, shooting and violence in your reality?
I hope that changes for you.
@@InsideOfMyOwnMind Don't you watch TV NEWS ? That's what I'm talking about. Never any good news.
@@oldodger Never any good news is by design. The only thing TV News has that's part of my reality is the local weather and I can get that elsewhere.
Been with you since 5k and what keeps me coming back is your techniques, whether on flip cars or on these oldtimers. Just do what floats your boat man, it's all been well worth watching so far 👍
me too maybe before that.
A two grinder family, man you guys are well off😅 Thank you Mrs Beard for some top quality camera work. That seat is incredibly clean for the state it started in Mike 👍🏻🏴
Looking Good Mike!! I actually like the bringing back of the old vehicles better than the car flipping, but u will watch whatever you put out brother. Your talent and humbleness is why I watch.
Thanks for the kind words Josh
Weird Beard - my go to You Tube Channel 100%. High anticipation always to his next videos and never disappointed by what he puts out.
I enjoy watching you recreate what ever you're working on........
The spring you found cleaning the floor board out was to hold the jack and lug wrench down to floor under the seat
Love this. Truck. Cleaned. Up. Good. You remind. Me. Of. My. Son Watching him work. Thanks
For those without a pressure washer (or if it’s to cold) you can take the seat to the car wash and do it there. In cold weather you just need a dry place to set them for about a week. Great Project!
thats one of the first things i do,clean.makes the work more enjoyable than working in filth.find neat stuff too
I always feel I get my money's worth with your vids.
Probably already thought of this but make sure it's pushing the clutch all the way back so it's actually disengaging The other thing is it might be easier just to switch it over to hydraulics and not have to monkey around with all the linkage you probably already thought this just thought I'd give you some ideas cool truck good job
That is a nice Truck Mike. I like the Shot Gun Rack. That would be a perfect Truck to cruise around in. My first Truck was a 1965 Chevy it was pretty new back then about 4 years old and it had a floor shift with a Granny Gear. My Dad used to use it after I joined the Army hauling stuff to Blanchard Texas from Houston when he was building a house there on Lake Livingston. It had a LWB and he bought it from me when I got assigned to Germany. Then I bought it back after I got out of the Army 10 years later and used it here in Blanchard Louisiana till 1989 when I bought me a New Chevy Truck. That truck is still running and in use today. Now I want to go buy it back. I know where it is. Keep the Gun Rack mine had one too. 🧑✈
Another great video. I always enjoy your work instead of the AAR BS from Randy.....
Well Beard, I like it when you flip cars, I also like it when your restoring cars. So you keep doing what you do and I will make sure I stay subscribed (my bell is on too)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hey WB, to be completely honest I enjoy seeing you work and how you come up with solutions on the cheap but with quality. I wouldn’t feel obligated to do flips. I am interested in seeing this clutch on the 3 ton, seeing you get the fury on the road on some nicer rims, and finish the 59 dodge coronet. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks for the support Frank. I appreciate it.
31:23 my first thought when you said that was "You're not on fire Ricky Bobby!"
When you said "well damn" after grinding the gears I couldn't help but laugh! I've definitely been there.
You'll get it brother.
(I'm still chuckling,... no disrespect.)
😎
Wierd Beard always killing it with great content. I can't believe how solid this cab is for a 50+ year old cab. Great video!!!
Thanks Jay. Always good to hear from you.
Mike great video, mrs beard does a great job filming
I agree she does great. Really took one for the team on this one. She was drenched by the time we were finished cleaning lol. She even took some sparks to the face one of the scenes. She needs a protective suit if she’s going to hang out with me lol.
I enjoyed it and I can't wait to see what is up with the transmission. Hopefully you get it loose and functional. Good morning and great day to you today.
WB, I don't know about other people, but I prefer the longer video's, but then that's just Me. Nuff Said.
very cool truck worth fixing
I agree
Good luck Weird Beard (keep watching)
Be careful with that bud light can brother hahahahaha
That was an old can from a different time my friend. No worries lol.
Best show on the UA-cam
The Weird Beard treatment strikes again.
Wb, when you cut that inch off the bracket you shortened the stroke between peddle and throw out bearing, try turning the adjuster on the threaded rod to put more tension on the clutch, throw out bearing for tighter clutch
great video Mike, I love the old Chevy truck and I can't wait to see you bring it back to its glory. I'll be watching
Yep disc stuck to flywheel, start in 2nd gear get to 20-25mph then stamp on brakes without pressing clutch. Might take two or three tries, but should free up clutch.
That was my first thought too!!!
Man that thing cleaned up nice. I feel your frustration in the clutch but having a rust free 66 is still a solid win. Keep up the good work WB you’re doing good. I’m going to enjoy this build.
That's a good old truck enjoy watching keep up the great work
I enjoy all of your videos Mike keep them coming my friend. I'm watching from N.ft.myers FL and will continue. I really like this 66 chevy. I can't believe how rust free this old truck is.
Fun video brings back memories my grandpa had a 66 Chevy
Looks so much better after cleaning it. I really thought that floor was going to be rusted out. Thank goodness it was mainly dirt.
Seat looks so much better.
Great job on getting the clutch pedal working.
Can’t wait to see this thing moving. Runs so good.
All your videos are super cool 😎 little brother. I like all of them. Keep up the good work
You really like the basket cases. I enjoy watching them.
She’s a peach 🍑
@@weirdbeard8898 Old vehicles without all the tech are refreshing.
@@weirdbeard8898 Just becoming scarce. I can barely work on my Acura. Kinda sucks relying on others to maintain it.
That spring and bracket under the seat is to hold the jack down
Just the greatest channel 😊
Thanks Tony
Wow, that seat cleaned up really nice! Another fun video!
It's great seeing these vehicles being bought back to life!! whether it's the classics or the flips 🙂
I love the way you clean things. VERY SATISFYING!!
I think I would wear a mask and gloves when cleaning the mouse poop out!! 😮😊
I always like watching your vids, you make everything enjoyable.
Central California watching
I'm happy to watch whatever you make Mike. ALL are educational from my point of view.
Whoever had the truck before probably did a lot of burnouts, so the clutch might just be wore out. Not the end of the world for sure. 😊
Funny you mention the unsubscribing thing. My problem is NOT receiving updates in my inbox. I had to come and look for your latest stuff. I can't imagine you being on a naughty list for any reason though?
I very much like what you do .... keep on doing what you do .. GOOD WORK ..!!
Man what a great condition cab and the floors are just so Nice and rust free. Its a lot cleaner than it was it not too bad. You might let it se out in the hot sun to dry out now. I bet if you take trans out and see if the clutch is any good it probably a bad clutch. That is what my ford ranger did when the clutch when out actually it was the pilot bushing and it needed a new pilot bushing. then it was better. take the clutch out and replace everything that is bad plates might need resurfaced and it probably needs a new whole clutch kit. Yes new clutch kit.
Re your clutch , if it was completely knackered it would slip under power , it sounds like it is stuck to the flywheel , or not disengaging , easy way to check , warm up the motor , (outside pointing up the drive) start it in gear and drive it with the clutch down and brake on at same time , it should free it off (would help if brakes work , and set the motor to a high idle (2000 -3000 rpm as bit hard to do with no handbrake and not having 3 feet !, easier than pulling the trans .....
Mike does a great job explaining and taking on projects in a practical way. Ive been subscribed for over 3 years and enjoyed every video!
By shortening that arm for that linkage that you welded on, you changed the distance of travel...you may want to have someone depress the clutch to see if your travel is correct..It may need more travel...I did see that the linkage on the other side of the pivot has another hole to place the linkage into, that should add travel...just speculation, could be wrong...lol good luck, hope it all works out for you, there is a possibility that the clutch is seized to the flywheel as well, which I have seen people drag the vehicle around toying with the clutch pedal, and sometimes freeing them up.
I love this truck!!!!!!!
The amount you can move the clutch fork by hand when underneath the truck is probably only taking up the slack. it needs to go further to act against the pressure plate. If that is the case you can probably get it working with rod length/ arm geometry. I don't think I know anyone strong enough to disengage a pressure plate by pushing on the fork rod while lying on their back. I love your content, have learned many tips, and enjoy your attitude. I hope you see this before re-engineering it.
I’ll check it out but it didn’t seem to have any more movement at all. No matter how much I tried.
Here always watching you from Europe
I'd put a couple squares of HD hook and loop on the washer lid and cutting board.
hell yeah brother soap up the seat and let mother nature do her job with the rain.
Beard, love your work. Sure wish you'd wear a respirator for this kind of cleanout. Hantavirus and Psittacosis are real risks with that level of biohazard!
Yeah that cab looks 1000% better. You're right to keep the 4 on the floor. Hopefully you can get a flip in before the end of Summer. Take Care Mike.
Thanks for another , Brother !!
Wow so much accomplished!!!
Great job 💪
Looks great WB,thanks John from Arizona
No Gloves, you're brave!😃
lookin' good, keep safe and well...
Another good one WB. Thanks
Great content!!!!
Good stuff!
Great job
Ur going to need ur buddy Eugene's back yard repair to send you 2 more gallons of purple power lol. Oh and a dust mask for the mouse poop 😅😅😅
That thing was pretty dang nasty for sure
Love the videos thanks for teaching me a lot..
Great video
Great job on the fabrication of the clutch levers and brackets!! I would think the clutch is totally broken internally not the transmission. It would take a lot of force to break the internal parts of the transmission. The cab being rust free is a big labor saver. What's the status of the F150 engine? Will you be doing anymore content on the F150? The 87-91 F150's are very popular right now and I believe you would get a lot of views.
Love this. Truck. One ton. Is. Cool thanks
I really do enjoy your content keep up the great work brother
Love the channel. Keep the work on the old cars coming!
Great videos. Lovin this truck
Great video as always 👍
Looking good
Seat cleaned up well. Cool looking truck
Maybe clutch disc is just stuck to the flywheel. Will happen from sitting.
Hopefully
Yep, in the past i have managed to free up a clutch by jacking up the driven wheels, putting the gbox in gear, start up the engine, rev it up to a decent speed, depress the clutch pedal, then have somebody else drop the jack fast.
The spinning wheels will hit the pavement and the rotating mass of wheels, brakes, driveshaft, gbox might just break free the friction plate.
WB, great save on the clutch release rebuild! I'd stay with the 4 speed and figure why the clutch is binding. It could just be rusted to the flywheel. When that happened on my 57 ford I started it in gear, floored the clutch and drove it until it broke free. Never had a problem after that. Great video!
Thats what I was thinking too
I gotta fix the brakes before I try that but good tip. Thanks Wesley.
@@weirdbeard8898 When you've got brakes start it in gear floor the gas and back off suddenly with the clutch on the floor. A couple of tries should set it free. Cheers!
@@weirdbeard8898 had my brakes go out in a 65 Chevy c10 I used to have years back. One of the scariest moments of my life. I pumped that brake so fast. Lol.
Nice old truck!
I love what you do. All your videos are entertaining and informative. Keep it up Sir.
Another great video! Keep up the great work
Thanks Hank
split shot go on cables ends use the on hood latch i use them on stop area on strings or probeing wires or phishing stuff though area or hose

Great! We get to see you tackle another transmission! 🔥🔥
Great to see a new video from you today. Enjoy your Memorial day weekend.
What an awesome truck! Good addition to the channel
Glad you like it
Good my friend, From Puerto Rico.
great work
Thanks Dan
I enjoy the video
The spring holds down the jack, looks like a replacement fuel tank, and a later year Trans
Loving it, Wierd Beard, keep it coming
Will do. Thanks man.
Great video dude. Keep up the great work
Thanks. Will do.
I’m hoping you do a bit sanding to see if you can’t get as much as possible of that orange paint back. Old service bed would be killer on that thing.
Cool Video WB Keep em up Always love your fun projects. Your narration is great "Thats why we Kant have nace thangs!" Love it!
That interior sure did come out nice 👌
Not too shabby
