Watching this freshened old memories. Not too many people around nowadays that still know how to hitch a team.

Enjoyed watching your video over and over. I would find it to be an honor to come visit you and learn more about working with beautiful Percheron horses. I would have purchased Duke and Duchess had I had the chance. Thank You again

Really good stuff. After decades of riding Hunter / Jumpers, I now love to watch draft and carriage horses at work. You approach to harnessing and de-tacking was great. I had a general knowledge, but this made it so I would feel confident. They are so relaxing and spell-binding. My Thoroughbreds could be gentle, but a the same time, they never had my complete trust. And they can hurt you so much and so fast you really just maintained a vigilance. On those occasions when we were in emotional sink, we were unstoppable. Then, at the end of each work day, watching them relax after a bath and brushing, brought me a great satisfaction. I don't want one penny back of my investment.

Very good tutorial on harnessing , Except you should definitely take off the halters when hooking them up and putting them out to pasture. For safety sakes they can rub wrong or get caught up in the pasture.

I got a kick out of Little House on the Prairie-the horses just showed up harnessed and hitched-no mention of how long it took to get all that done-and supposedly Caroline did this herself now and then

I see your using a steel divider ring on your cross lines, we use to have some Sellaoid Rings, probably can't find them today. My Uncle Johnny Forrest was a prankster! He put a small broken pie in the bottom of one of His Frind Pipe, lit it and took a drag or two and let it go out. Put it back on the Ledge where it was. When they sat down for a brake haying His friend grabbed up His Pipe, lit it and was passably smoking it when all the sudden he had a Sudden unexpected BIG POOF blowing all the Tabaco up in the Air before his Face! He Jumped wildly back with a suspired look on His Face. When He discovered the culprit, the chase was on! Cowboys will be Cowboys! everyone had a good Laugh out of it

Ma'am, the state of your harness does you credit, that is a lot of leather to keep in good condition.

You can register a Percheron with a long tail. There's no rule against it.

Like my Granddad John A. Forrest and you I to like Buckels over snaps, less likely to have a disastrous problem that can get a Horse hurt o even Killed

I don't like Docked Tales and Retched Manes myself. God made Flys! for a reason and he put Tales on Horses so they would have their own Fly swatter. I don't like excessively long tales; that collect cockleburs and Trash. I learned how to pull a Tale and shape it up as a Kid. Today I prefer trimming and shaping a Tale, not so panful for my Hore!
