I clicked on this video because I’m having some trouble with my own horse right now and find it helpful to watch others work with their horses. But that lesson from scripture brought tears to my eyes. I guess I just really needed to hear that this evening.

You make chopping wood seem so simple Titus, but Eric demonstrates that it is a real trade that we need to master.

I have spit so much wood when I was a small boy. WOW! I would go to school and my hands would have white rags around them, with turpentine on them. The kids would tell me I would stink, and would be mean to me. But being a hard worker from the age of 9, I'm still a hard worker.

Just my take on chopping wood.
    1. Check the position of the knots before you saw it, to guarantee a successful split. Not all logs are easy to split. To make things easier, have one end of the log knot-free.
    2. Check the log before you attempt to split. Stay away from the end that has a cut-through knot.
    3. Logs that have really large knots are best cut with a chainsaw. These areas of really dense wood give off a lot of heat in the stove.

I've said it before, but I adore those beautiful horses. They are so patient and calm. Being an animal lover, I do have to ask (out of complete ignorance, as I know nothing about horses): is the metal that goes into their mouth (the bit) absolutely necessary? Are there alternatives to a bit, for horses? The bit seems (to me) like it is uncomfortable -- does it grind against their teeth, causing dental issues? Could they be informed to go left or right, just as effectively, by just tapping their left or right side with the reins? I'm asking to learn, with no knowledge of horses.

    • @cindicated2628
      @cindicated2628 Рік тому +1

The Eggbutt Snaffle bit does not pinch the sides of the horse's mouth and exerts minimal lateral pressure. They are considered the best to use on horses if using a bit. While slightly harsher, D-ring snaffle bits are also considered very gentle bits for horses. I hope someone else chimes in here that actively rides now. I am not a regular rider, but there are bit-less bridles and there are many different styles. You have to be careful with the bit-less ones too because they can put too much pressure on horses’ chins and noses. So, it is very important that you have someone - and I would trust Titus - that knows what they’re doing when training and working with horses to make sure that whatever bridles are used are safest for the horses. I have only ever ridden well-trained horses. I have ridden ones with and without a bit, but I have little knowledge honestly as to how ppl actually train them effectively either way.

My dad was born in 1912 when horse did the work - some times he said things to me as if i was a horse lol -
He grew up dealing with horses so it was part of his dialog -
In the 70s i went to work in the offshore oilfields - the older toolpushers and drillers would talk to us as if the crew was a team of horses -
Later on i used there same dialogue lol - except i grew up in the days of tractors and loaders lol

I hope he isn't right.i still like to think there are some true honest people left in this world .and that he really is a true born again Christain, but that's what was told to me . no explaining why he's uploading all these other videos, but no more unboxing .hope he got your gifts.may God bless you.

These are some of my questions. When you attend a baby shower or a wedding. There is someone who is writing down the name of the items and the names of the people who gave the gifts . In Titus’s case, a list of items that were received should be listed on the community page. If not attach a list in one of one of the videos. A wish list of things was created for Amazon. It is not impossible to create one with the items received. People are donating thousands of dollars worth of gifts, but the items are no longer opened for viewers to see. More transparency is needed. Where are these items going? I’m sure they are still receiving boxes from Amazon.

I never met a horse that liked those bits in their mouths like that. I grew up around horses. Believe it or not a horse is still trainable and still listens without the bit in thier mouth. The bit will actually cause a discomfort in the horses mouth if you have a horse you a braking and need to control more. A horse already broken doesn't need it in their mouths. Just an FYI if you wanted to be kinder to your horse.

when there two of us on wood and the spliting axe gets stuck in the wood that was one of us will drive the axe head in with a sledge and if it gets burried in the log we might finsh slitting with steel wedges or use a BNO Punch to finsh driving the axe head or wedges deep into the log -
The pine we burn is mostly loblolly or tall pine - its real easy to split - live oak is like iron wood it wont split untill its been weathered a yr or more -

the wood seems to be still green alot of moisture in the wood and the longs were right on the ground if there would be a way to put the longs on a harder surface the tool would have much better impact when it hits the log, with the log right on the ground the ground gives and the force of the tool isn't as great

In the movies they make spliting would look easy - they split wood before the seen then glue it back together - then the actor or stunt man only has to hit the log were its already split and the glue will brake loose - so splitting wood apears easy -
I split some of my wood by hand - most oak tends to split easy - you have to sort of study the lod or wood your spliting - if there knots in it it will be diffcult to split -
We often catch the edges of the log - in movies the split a log in the center of the glued together log and it splits easely lol - not so in real life -
Some wood like sweet gum, or elm is almost imposable to split by hand - the fibers are all twisted together -
Im 68 now so i no longer fight gum i split it on a electric hydrolic splitter -
Its burns slow and there is pleanty of it - pine is a soft wood and burns fast -
Most perfer oak in the old days around here women wanted gum and elm for the wood cook stove - it doesnt burn fast or slow its in the middle
