  • HMF Sportsman XP 1000 Titan QS Exhaust Fuel Optimizer and HD Front Bumper Test Review.
Proven to pull harder across the RPM range in previous testing, HMF’s Titan exhausts are constructed in the U.S. of corrosion resistant stainless steel throughout for long lasting good looks. The Titan QS exhaust helps keep sound output within 1db at idle and 5 db at half throttle compared to stock. A spark arrestor comes standard.
Available in a full system only, HMF claims up to a 2hp and 2 .b/ft increase over stock, which should give it a slight horsepower edge over the Outlander. Gains experienced in previous seat-of-the-pants testing felt more substantial.
HMF’s Fuel Optimizer is a piggyback fuel injection controller that comes pre-programmed with a baseline tuning for HMF’s exhausts. An on-board, push button interface allows for easy on-board tuning with no computer needed. It’s a must have with an aftermarket exhaust and a welcomed add-on to lower operating temperatures.
We’ve beaten stock Outlander 1000 Rs in the past with an HMF Titan QS exhaust and fuel optimizer installed, something we weren’t able to do with the stock Sportsman, so the increase in power is undeniable. HMF’s increase in power seems focused in the midrange and up. Polaris’ parallel twin simply lacks the low-end snap of a Can-Am V-Twin, offering very manageable low-end power for a 1000.
HMF’s Heavy Duty front bumper adds a level of protection to an otherwise unprotected front end on most Sportsman 1000 and 850 models.

I saw the 1000 shootout of the channel, it's an awsome video and this Polaris have a great evolution but, how much faster is? I mean, what is the time before and after in that place?
Thanks for your hard working 👍.

Glad you enjoyed the 1000cc shootout. It was a lot of work. The trails had changed too much to get times on our original course. Most of the high speed field sections were no longer there. We can say with certainty that the built Sportsman would smoke a stock one. Wish we could have come up with more number driven data for you. Thanks for being a subscriber!

This was filmed at East Fork MX near New Vienna Ohio. We have a couple private properties where we film in northern Ky. We are thinking about checking our MOB Off-Road near Maysville Ky. Any suggestions???

Try out the Black Mountain Adventure Park area. Went there for a day trip from Cincinnati. A 4-hour drive that was half-I-75 and half Country roads. All-in-all, not too bad of a trip. Scenery was beautiful along with rocky ascents up to the overlook on trail 10. Along with some surprisingly deep mud holes on some of the branching trails. I got some pics I can send your way, if you want.

Do you have to buy the fuel optimizer separately?
