When we humans are under pressure, we act without thinking, producing our best work in the most simplest ways. The same goes for our Earth. Mother Nature has taken the simplest of elements, water, sand and hydrogen and under pressure, has created fire encased in a stone. Humans need to take note from our planet more. Pressure will always be, but the answers are more often there in the simplest of forms. This stone for me reiterates the idea that I use in teaching. Thinking can be overrated.
I will never understand how people fawn over Diamonds when we have stones like THIS that exist in the world. I will take opal over diamond any day. Each a beautiful unique work of art from the Earth and Mother Nature!
So fascinating, the Peruvian opal looks like tropical water, yet is found in the mountains. It contains the elements you’d find at the beach, oxygen and hydrogen for the water and silicon in the sand. They’re like rocks that the beach was trapped inside like a looking glass. These Opals are so beautiful, the colors are stunning. They all look like a window into another world, some look like the universe, others like the sea, sky, landscapes, sunsets, even a glimpse into Heaven.
No other gemstone compares to Opal in beauty and color. A thousand 1 carat diamonds cut in the same pattern of the same grade look practically identical. A thousand top Black Opals from Lightning ridge each have their own finger print of incredibly amazing color.

Beautiful gemstone - nice to know ( although small in quantity) they’re found all over the world - I thought they only came from Australia - my favorite black opal and the ones that looked like they had encased nature: clouds, mountains etc
Opal is the birthstone of my husband so of course it's in my wedding band. And it's probably not a natural rare gemstone but it's mine and symbolizes the love for my better half
I just have to watch this video again. Opal, amethyst and peridot are my favourite gemstones. (I love your videos..) Thankyou! Oh, I also love tanzanite, but only the AAAA type.
I love opals! The color variants in the man made/lab created are phenomenal. But people say that opals are bad luck to wear unless it’s your birthstone. Wonderful video. Thanks.

Hello Andrew old friend! I hope this is an auspicious beginning to yr series on particular gemstones such as rubies, ahem, sapphires, etc and will include the now precious stones tanzanite. Opals are truly magical and very beatiful! I hope I'll get one for myself as I'm a libra! I didn't know the major difference about their origins, that some are basically fossils, whilst the others are from volcanic erruptions! The other important thing about opals, the ones that are made artificially, are the best way to contain radioactive waste; it's less expensive and more efficient! It's still a work in progress and it's still being seen as a ridicule by most... I guess it will take time until deeper research is made to prove it... the process isn't hard to understand and to be used... I'm not sure if it's just me, but whenever I check up the diversity of such gorgeous gems, I'm drawn to compare them with sunflowers! -they both react to light, to the Sun; -they display emotions like us; opals react to the moisture of skin by changing color as some have speculated, giving the feeling as being alive, whilst sunflowers being plants are also thought to display emotions and reactions; -both sunflowers and opals can be and are very complex; many variants; -opals show complexity by changes of colors, sunflowers have many genes, almost the same amount of genes as us humans (unique in the flora... mysterious and unknown why that is...); -both show beauty through sacred geometry play (sunflowers display the golden angle...); -both are best used to purify; opals and sunflowers can purify radioactive land contamination... -they're both symbols of hope, of holiness, magical, uplifting moods... These are the things that I found they have in common and I just find this interesting to add...
Opals also known as Elf stones along with moonstones. Thought to contain the personallity of its owner were Treasured and kept to heighten Dex and Charisma.
I'll take an Opal over a Diamond anytime, in fact I have several Fire Opals and not one of them is the same as the other, they are very unique on their own, I imagine it has to do with the way they are cut.
Thank you so much Pidor! I am off to bed now, hoping to dream of the opals I shall buy when I win the lottery! (I shall come to you first.) Thankyou again. Love from England.

I’ve owned opals throughout my life. I learned never to put them in hot water, and to put baby oil on them.
I clean my opals with mineral oil.
Opals (much like emeralds) are somewhat porous & benefit from the oil to keep them from drying out & becoming more fragile.
Baby oil, wtf??
