Six Benefits of Self-Isolation According to Imam Ghazali:
      1. **Opportunity for Reflection and Contemplation**: Solitude provides a conducive environment for deep introspection and contemplation of one's spiritual state and relationship with Allah.
      2. **Focus on Worship and Devotion**: Away from distractions, self-isolation allows individuals to dedicate more time to acts of worship such as Salah (prayer), recitation of Quran, and Dhikr (remembrance of Allah).
      3. **Self-Discipline and Spiritual Growth**: It fosters self-discipline and adherence to spiritual practices, leading to personal growth and purification of the heart.
      4. **Enhanced Connection with Allah**: By disconnecting from worldly distractions, one may experience a heightened sense of spiritual presence and closeness to Allah.
      5. **Renewed Perspective on Life**: Solitude offers a chance to reassess priorities, gain clarity on life goals, and develop a deeper understanding of Allah's wisdom and guidance.
      6. **Preparation for Adversities**: It builds resilience and inner strength, preparing individuals to face challenges with patience and reliance on Allah's mercy.
Seven Drawbacks or Challenges of Self-Isolation According to Imam Ghazali:
      1. **Potential for Spiritual Pride**: Excessive isolation may lead to arrogance or spiritual pride, where individuals believe they are superior due to their devotion and seclusion.
      2. **Isolation from Community**: Withdrawal from society can lead to a lack of social interaction and support, potentially leading to loneliness or a sense of detachment from reality.
      3. **Risk of Overwhelm**: Intensive solitude may overwhelm individuals emotionally or psychologically, especially if they lack balanced spiritual guidance or mentorship.
      4. **Neglect of Responsibilities**: Excessive focus on personal spiritual growth may lead to neglect of familial, social, or community responsibilities, which are also integral to Islamic teachings.
      5. **Temptation to Escapism**: Isolation can become a form of escapism from worldly challenges or responsibilities, rather than a means of genuine spiritual development.
      6. **Lack of Spiritual Guidance**: Without proper guidance from knowledgeable mentors or scholars, individuals in isolation may misinterpret spiritual experiences or teachings.
      7. **Potential for Spiritual Stagnation**: Prolonged isolation without external influences or challenges may lead to spiritual stagnation or a plateau in personal growth.
      Conclusion:
Imam Ghazali's teachings emphasize the importance of balance in spiritual practice, moderation in isolation, and the integration of spiritual devotion with social and familial responsibilities. While self-isolation can offer valuable opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection, it must be approached with mindfulness and under the guidance of sound Islamic principles to avoid potential pitfalls and maximize its benefits.

Indeed Islam is a religion that combines both worldly and hereafter matters. When muslims were so devoted to allah SWT, they were so successful in spreading islam to all of the corners of this world. The Othoman Empire and Al-andalus are just a few examples, after the prophet ASWS, that show that our strength as a muslim ummah is in our deen. قال الله تعالى:" ان تنصروا الله ينصركم ويثبت اقدامكم'. May allah SWT help us to stay on the right path with the right people.

Being able to dedicate oneself to worship and to meditation, and to find intimacy in close communication with Allah rather than the communication of creation. And occupy oneself with unveiling Allah's secrets of the matter of this world and the next, and the way in which the Heavens and the Earth was created.

Sheikh you should do a tour of the northwest Manchester Preston and blabkburn were am from you should definitely visit blackburn....many thirsty saliks but no water diviner...and maybe you could put your memoirs in a memorable book...I feel muslims in the northwest need to move to the next level otherwise if they are left thirsty I'm afraid many will stumble...ramadhan is a good time here especially in blackburn. Inshallah god willing I will get to sit in your good company ❤

We truly love you in Allah SWT and we hope that these lectures continue after Ramadan. Since Alghazali's first book is about knowledge, maybe we can start with that. We could use Minhaju Al-Aabideen, the summary of Ihyaa ulum Addin. Honestly, I would love to stay connected to CMC. For me it's a way to stay connected to Allah SWT and take a break from all the dunya distractions. Maybe we should create a group and call it Al-Ghazali group to stay connected and support each other in this Al-akhirah business of purifying our hearts. As we all know, this is hard work and we need to collaborate so that we can achieve our goal. I would like to end my comment with these verses by Al-Imam Ali MABH:
فلا تصحب أخا الجهل وإياك وإياه
فكم من جاهل أردى حليماً حين آخاه
    يُقاسُ المَرْءُ بالمَرْءِ إذا ما هُوَ ماشاهُ
    وللقلب على القلبِ دَلِيْلٌ حِيْنَ يَلْقَاهُ
Baraka Allu feekum wa ahsana allahu lakum.

Do you mean the Iḥyā′ ‘Ulūm al-Dīn ? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Revival_of_the_Religious_Sciences Iḥyā′ ‘Ulūm al-Dīn translates to The Revival of the Religious Sciences. Many different individuals are translating the many books contained therein. You can find free translations on line, but I would also recommend the translated texts from either the Islamic Texts Society (ITS) or Fons Vitae (who are also doing a children's companion series to the main books which is also helpful for adults). The ITS have translated a variety in different order. Fons Vitae I think are trying to do so chronologically. Either way, it takes time to translate them fully. But a quick search on amazon will reveal a few. I beleive Book 16 is on the 'Etiquette of Seclusion' to which this is referred. Further information can be found here - www.ghazali.org/rrs-ovr/ www.ghazali.org/ihya/english/index.html for a translation from Urdu (likely prior translated from Arabic) to English. In that link, I think it is Volume 2 (chapter 7 and 6); but be aware that this is a translation of a translation. There may be other translations. www.ghazali.org/ihya/english/ihya-vol2-C7.htm fonsvitae.com/product-category/sufism/al-ghazali/ its.org.uk/product-category/the-ghazali-series/ as you can see from here they are being formally translated by Fons Vitae + ITS. Hope this is helpful. Forgive me if I've made it more confusing. I hope that you can find further clarification God Willing. ua-cam.com/video/PoRRoqVXeGw/v-deo.html

Mashallah so nicely told. This intrigue me to read Imam Ghazali. One request kindly do not use “new age religious” terms like mindfulness and higher self in your lectures. Many tried to bring Islam into fold of the devilish religion and we do not want to use their terminology please.#carryoncmc
