It appears that some people might be misinterpreting this video. The alert level of Soufriere Hills has not changed and is still at 1. It is unlikely to be increased anytime soon. I need to stress how slow of a year over year increase the volcano is experiencing. 10 earthquakes a week is still incredibly low, but is an upward trend when comparing to certain prior years. Scientists aren’t expecting an eruption anytime soon. I generally don’t make videos about long term changes at volcanoes, but is such a scenic and notable volcano to simply not cover it.
Then they must either make the uk their home or find another place....as they are British citizens, they should consider anywhere in Britain to be their home, not just that volcanic outcrop in the sea.
@@matthewbooth9265sorry, didn’t realize the effects of colonization only last for as long as you say they do, that was a really inappropriate and bad faith comment to make Matthew…. 😕
I remember when that volcano erupted; all those people on an island with nowhere else to go. The houses covered to their roofs. It was heartbreaking. And just like that half their tropical paradise country is a barren waste.
I've seen yesterday that there was a 4.5 that was either under or beside the grimsvoth volcano in Iceland, idk if it was volcanic related or related to the water that's being melted from the glaciers
"We are closer to an eruption than 12 months ago." True. This is valid for all volcanoes on earth. 😉 Also, for the volcanoes here in Germany. 🙄 Thanks for mentioning so many volcanoes of different countries. Have a nice day 👋🏻👴🏼
50+ erupt yearly in normal year. Yes there's lots about to erupt, but it's actually always like that. We just have such good information and communications that we know about it in real time now.
@@anwaarsamaiNot really. The southern 15km (I think) of La Palma is a north-south fissure ridge with eruptions happening along its sides. In 1948 a crack formed right along the crest of the ridge and the whole west side slid slightly towards the ocean - if the whole west side went into the Atlantic during a future eruption, as one single high-speed landslide, that would indeed produce a pretty massive tsunami (though even then the figures being bandied around in that supertsunami scare are probably exaggerated). However the consensus now is that it would not go all in one but as a series of smaller slides many of them probably gradual - so any tsunamis probably wouldn't be big enough to cause major destruction on the other side of the Atlantic let alone in New York. The 2020 eruption did not occur in the cracked length of ridge, but a bit further north where the ridge actually forms the southeast side of an enormous landslide scar where what looks like a whole medium-size stratovolcano really did slide off into the Atlantic sea at some point. I'd Google it, but funny things can happen when I switch windows while commenting on UA-cam and I'm not going to risk it!

Thank you, GH.
Thanks for all of your hard work man!
Thanks for all of your hard praise man!
Lots of people from Monserrat moved to the UK. But there is nowhere for them to go 'home' to. 😢

Soufriere Hills was the first good video example of pyroclastic flows accelerating over water due to flash vaporization of the surface.
I really enjoy your videos! Living in Northwest Oregon, we have plenty of volcanoes to keep an eye on!
Great writing, good explanation and examples.
Thanks as always!

Will we have an update on Grímsvötn soon? Two big earthquakes over 4.0 happend in the span of 20 hours today
I really like your voice

Buenas tardes ❤
This volcano looks beautiful
Beautiful but deadly
Unless your life is affected by it 😂
Literally breathtaking
Soufriere hills is a very dangerous volcano, it is still in the activity period beginning in the 90ths.
Several sites are reporting that Grimsvotn volcano is now producing Yokulhlaups and I would love to hear your take on these reports
Are you planning to make another video on grimsvotn
He’s probably got loads
Last eruption was in February 2010

Grimsvotn had an earthquake of 4.5 magnitude which is the largest ever to take place there since recording began.
This island and volcano is basically the site of every fictional volcano eruption movie scenario
What’s campi flegrei doing?
Glacial flood at Grimsvötn
So many volcanos ready to blow. Do you see an atmospheric change around the world to occur soon?
"So many volcanos ready to blow." Been like that for many thousand years. Nothing has changed.

Take a drink each time Pyroclastic flows is mentioned.
Hip! Hip! Cheerio 😮
Is this the volcano that if collapsed into the sea would cause a super tsunami that will wipe out the eastern seaboard of the US?
You’re speaking of La Palma volcano. That already erupted recently and debunked that entire theory.

No it is not "both don't have immediately concerning levels of activity" ffs! It's NEITHER has immediately concerning levels of activity!
