Our SQE exam preparation course prepares you for SQE1, which has has 360 multiple choice questions in total, in two assessments of 180 questions each.
✅ The first SQE1 assessment covers:
1. business law and practice;
2. dispute resolution;
3. contract;
4. tort;
5. legal system of England and Wales; and
6. constitutional and administrative law and EU law and legal services
✅ The second SQE1 assessment covers:
7. property practice;
8. wills and the administration of estates;
9. solicitors accounts;
10. land law;
11. trusts; and
12. criminal law and practice.
You have to pass all of the topics in each assessment of SQE1 in order to proceed to SQE2. If you fail one topic, you will have a maximum of three attempts within six years to pass it (before you will have all your previous passes disregarded and you have to start again).
The pass mark for all of the assessments is estimated by the SRA to be somewhere between 50% and 60%, although this will depend on the specific assessment. If you pass both of the SQE1 assessments (and all of the topics listed),
SQE2 is a different kind of assessment, and focuses on practical legal skills, including advocacy; legal research, legal drafting, legal writing, interviewing (with legal analysis) and case analysis.

Hello Sarah, In Iraq it's all about having the bar ID to become a qualified lawyer, and Iraq is one of the recognised jurisdictions in Wales and England.

Unfortunately I didn't yet, I'm waiting for the exam results of the Judicial Institute in Iraq, if I failed it then I'll switch to sqe.

Thanks Al-hera, yes definitely. The SQE2 exam can be taken a long time after the SQE1 exam, though, so it is best to concentrate first on what you need to know for the SQE1 exam, pass it, and then start focusing on preparation for the SQE2 exam.
Hi. I am a lawyer in Turkey. I want to sit these exams in the near future. I do not have knowledge about English law. I got 7 in IELTS. But when I take a look at the books on law, I do not understand most of the words. Legal English is very difficult. Should I study legal English before the preparation for SQE? Or while reading the books prepared for SQE exams, can I overcome this? Some people say that in 1-2 months I can be comfort.
What should you recommend about this? How many months should I study SQE1 at least in this case?

Hi there, its great that you are interested in SQE. Regarding your English, this would be completely up to you how you should approach improving it. Some people like to practice language as they learn and some dedicate specific time. I would say that you could combine learning English and practice what you learned by going through SQE material. - Again, the decision is yours.
In terms of SQE1, there are a few factors that play when it comes to how much time you might need to prepare. Sufficient time needed to prepare depends on your current knowledge of English law, how much time you can dedicate to it each day and how fast you can memorise and process the materials.
