I overclocked my Gpu with fans maxed out at 80% the card reached 2.5ghz whilst consuming 330w. (Did not use MorePowerTool I am a bit scrared I end up damaging the silicone whilst this card scarcity, I did end up overpaying by about 30% for the gpu)
Agreed. Crossfire and sli were actually perfectly decent in some games. I had gtx970 sli and the performance for the price was crazy in far cry 4 and tomb raider I was playing at the time. Was about 80-100% more FPS and no massive glitches or spikes.
@@LawrenceTimme - I had AMD sapphire Toxic 290 (non-X) in crossfire and in intensive games like Crysis 3, it was giving same fps as the $3000 Titan-Z. My pair of 290's cost me a grand total of $540 (new from Amazon).

Yes mgpu. But this is linked or bridged mgpu, so it might as well be crossfire. Unfortunately the proper mgpu where you can mix cards doesn't work in 3dmark.
I have the same exact issue. So much that my other GPU would freeze the computer. The raedon pro drivers fixed that problem. But I can't get it to work in any games at all. Did you get this working at all?

However, my issue was completely different. AMD has 2 SKUs for RX 6900 XT. One is Navi 21 XT(X), which is the regular RX 6900 XT. They later, launched another SKU with their liquid cooled reference model, Navi 21 XT(XH). Device ID for Navi 21 XT(X) : 0x73BF (For me, it is the MSI Gaming X Trio RX 6900 XT) Device ID for Navi 21 XT(XH) : 0x73AF (For me, it is the ASUS ROG Strix LC RX 6900 XT Gaming TOP) I had one of each SKUs, and they are not able to run in mGPU for some reason. The mGPU switch toggles on, but it won't work as expected. As soon as I paired the MSI one with Strix LC GAMING OC from ASUS ( see the difference. Gaming OC is Navi 21 XT(X), Gaming TOP is Navi 21 XT(XH) ), the mGPU worked as intended. TimeSpy FPS were doubled, and the explicit mGPU features worked.
Did you have to adjust your bios to PCIe 3.0 or will this still work on 4.0. Have dual Sapphire nitro plus 6800xt's with my 5900x and a 1600w PSU for my racing simulator (needed all the display ports).

Did you do anything special to get this to work because i have the same setup and mgpu just doesn't work. It worked in time spy but frames are really low but no crossfire is working on any game at all.
The big chip was meant for the pro market. Between crossfire going PCI and that being left over in the drivers from the pro variant, bam! Plus DX12 multi GPU, and Time Spy as well as other benches probably don't care really. They see GPU's they will use them I'd imagine, just like most production software.

Don't understand me wrong, but does a crossfire config with a RX6900XT and RX6800XT make really sense? I mean, yeah 2 of 6900`s would performe better, that's for sure but how good are these both Radeons scale in relation to 2 same GPUs in crossfire or mgpu? What is your experience with them against 2 same Radeons?
I would not run the 6900 xt on a single pcie power cable... using a single cable for a gpu that might use as much as 330W at 115% ppt is above being borderline
It's fine I've used a single cable with it using more power tool pulling over 400w and with the 3080 pulling 450w and the 3090 pulling 580w. My psu is a beast. It doesn't even get warm after many hours of benching like that.

That is strange. It has worked OK for me in multiple drivers. It will only work in time spy.

I'm not sure those will be compatible as they are a different die. The 6900xt and 6800 are the same die.

If the framer ate is low in Timespy try changing the rendering mode. Or try turning frame pacing off

I'm not sure, maybe Google list of games that support mgpu. Only dx12 games could support it. I only play 3dmark
