I agree. That's the problem here, people on the internet think their opinions are valid. Like of course the positions and the capabilities of these idols were decided by some professionals. While there are so called dancers who give opinions as if they know what they're doing. Same with singing, it's not about belting and singing high notes, dancing isn't and were never all about power or whoever dances with energy.

There are times when Jihyo misses/skips some details, and she forces her movements which makes her mess up certain steps. So, apparently Momo is a better dancer. Groove is not everything in dance - it's optional and it depends on your stylistic choice, although it makes your dance more enjoyable to watch.

Mina stans telling everyone she should have ranked higher since she's a ballet dancer? As someone who actually did ballet and has seen Kazuha from Le Sserafim dance, I'm telling you Mina isn't even that good of a ballet dancer, and she clearly isn't that great of a dancer overall. Her strengths are different
Yeah. From a Mina stan- She's no where near as good a Ballet Dancer as Kazuha. But Kazuha trained for 5 more years than Mina, won awards for her ballet and was studying at one of the top ballet academies in the world when she was scouted. Kazuha had the potential to be one of the best ballerinas in Japan. Some of the skills from Mina's Ballet experience did transfer- her balance, her ability to learn new dances quickly and her ability to remember choreography she hasn't done in a while. She's actually the member who makes the _fewest_ mistakes on stage. The thing is, Mina doesn't add to the choreography much. She performs it exactly as she's taught it with minimal personal flair or exaggeration. This can make her moves seem more lazy/lax as they don't look to have as much energy put into them. This is especially true in comparison to Momo and Jihyo who put a lot more personality and energy into their moves.

Idols usually dance in ways that are softer or less precise, deliberately for the sake of style/cuteness personality. As they are often trained to be that way it makes it really hard to make such evaluations relevant.
In my really honest opinion jihyo is a really good dancer but not as much as Momo she give a lot details and power while jihyo messes up with the details sometimes and she is only good stage presence and open styple but when it comes to momo she is incredibly best in overall there is nothing to point out that momo is less better anyone else .

I'm a Sana stan though Iove all of them. I kinda agree with ranking of Nayeon and Sana, sometimes just a little little bit a particular dance step which needs leg widening apart while transfering or moving in position (ex. the parting of legs in more and more chorus) Nayeon did it better than Sana but that's it for me they are equally a very good dancer. Ps. I'm a dancer and it's from a real dancer's perspective who've been dancing for years and know a lot about dancing and performing, not just someone who dance little this and that like some people in tiktok

Momo is definitely number 1. Jihyo sometimes overexerts her dancing. Momo has complete control over every part of her body. And Dahyun makes dancing look so easy.

Jihyo is better than Momo in choreography that isn’t really idol dancing. The explanations are in front you. Momo has honed her isolations but struggles with excess tension due to constant muscle engagement. She needs to relax more while dancing to improve her dynamics. Jihyo is simply better than Momo nowadays. I suggest you watch their performances of ICON and ESPRESSO where Jihyo outdances Momo by far.

You cannot just rank TWICE based on open style because they haven't practiced such dance style in the first place. The only girl groups I can see doing open style are NewJeans, NMIXX, and ITZY, VCHA, and BabyMonster. This ranking is invalid.

Ballet is more concise. Pop and Hip Hop is more smooth and rhythmic. She isn’t used to relaxing her body to do the dances. Ask Momo to try Ballet and see how she does.
She'll probably be very good since, as a dancer, she has a good body awareness. As a ballet dancer Mina should show better arm movements and have more posture. Her biggest problem is the lack of energy that results in movements without any technique. Main dancer or not, she's mediocre and didn't evolved since debut.
Jihyo doesn't overdance💀 You saw that one performance of Jihyo giving it her all to this last chorus and determined that she consistently overdances without looking at the rest of the dance. She knows how to control her energy and she released a lot of it at the last chorus because it's the song's climax and she understands that.
Honestly mina doesn't deserve to be a main dancer, I mean she can dance good but can't be the main dancer with momo in twice. Instead jihyo deserves the main dancer position more than mina.
You haven't taken into account their muscle memory and the speed of how fast they can learn dance moves. This ranking is purely based on skill, technicality, and style. But in terms of fast memorization of moves and formation, twice members have already acknowledged Mina as the fastest learner, and can recall dance routines even as early as their debut days. This is extremely helpful in events with limited practice time before shows and concerts. So that's why Mina still deserves the main dancer position a bit more than Jihyo.There's no doubt that if base on performance level, Jihyo is far better, but even though Jihyo has great sense of rhythm , she tends to mess up choreographies more often than other members like forgetting certain moves during shoots and even the members laugh it off during their twice logs and behinfd the scenes. Meanwhile Mina barely messes up and gets choreographies faster than most members. They need Mina's memory skills especially in practicing where the members even revealed Mina helps them alot during practices.

I’m not a dancer so my opinion won’t matter to the technical dancers in the comments but I prefer jihyo’s dancing over momo’s. It looks so much lively to me and more fun to watch. Momo may be a more technical dancer but when it comes to the general audience they don’t care about technicality, they care about performance and Jihyo always puts on a damn good show.

Seems like many people haven’t seen Mina in their recent tour. Other members were even having a hard time imitating her moves. Anyway, both have superb dancing skills. I prefer Sana’s dancing though especially her facial expressions while performing.

I have made some mistakes like aromatic 'candles,' 'champgne' and maybe some others cause i'm not fluent, so this might be the reason of you not getting my point. It was her actually, who I first noticed among them; I like her energy and aura as a dancer, not so stiff and not so over-energetic. I think Sana’s inconsistency comes from the fact that if the dance is easier, she’ll put less effort. When it’s a hard dance(M&M), she’ll actually try lol, which isn’t good and she should be putting in the same effort either way but she knows what looks good and what doesn’t. Jihyo’s inconsistency comes from she tries too hard. It looks amazing in high energy songs like DTNA and More and More, and then looks weird in songs like Set me Free or Scientist. There are times when Jihyo misses/skips some details, and she forces her movements which makes her mess up certain steps. So, apparently Momo is a better dancer. Groove is not everything in dance - it's optional and it depends on your stylistic choice, although it makes your dance more enjoyable to watch.

Well, she's not a textbook dancer. In fact, she's one of the most unique dancers in Twice and whole K-Pop because she adds her own quirks to her dance, which makes it very easy for us to recognize her even in the midst of a crowd of dancers. She has her own style which makes her different from others.

Yeah. From a Mina stan- She's no where near as good a Ballet Dancer as Kazuha. But Kazuha trained for 5 more years than Mina, won awards for her ballet and was studying at one of the top ballet academies in the world when she was scouted. Kazuha had the potential to be one of the best ballerinas in Japan.
Some of the skills from Mina's Ballet experience did transfer- her balance, her ability to learn new dances quickly and her ability to remember choreography she hasn't done in a while. She's actually the member who makes the _fewest_ mistakes on stage.
The thing is, Mina doesn't add to the choreography much. She performs it exactly as she's taught it with minimal personal flair or exaggeration. This can make her moves seem more lazy/lax as they don't look to have as much energy put into them. This is especially true in comparison to Momo and Jihyo who put a lot more personality and energy into their moves.

Wrong opinion, Jihyo is 1 and Mina 8.
Idols usually dance in ways that are softer or less precise, deliberately for the sake of style/cuteness personality. As they are often trained to be that way it makes it really hard to make such evaluations relevant.
In my really honest opinion jihyo is a really good dancer but not as much as Momo she give a lot details and power while jihyo messes up with the details sometimes and she is only good stage presence and open styple but when it comes to momo she is incredibly best in overall there is nothing to point out that momo is less better anyone else .

As a dancer myself, I agree full heartedly with this ranking with no hate to any of the girls!
I'm a Sana stan though Iove all of them. I kinda agree with ranking of Nayeon and Sana, sometimes just a little little bit a particular dance step which needs leg widening apart while transfering or moving in position (ex. the parting of legs in more and more chorus) Nayeon did it better than Sana but that's it for me they are equally a very good dancer.

Jihyo is better than Momo in choreography that isn’t really idol dancing. The explanations are in front you. Momo has honed her isolations but struggles with excess tension due to constant muscle engagement. She needs to relax more while dancing to improve her dynamics.
Jihyo is simply better than Momo nowadays. I suggest you watch their performances of ICON and ESPRESSO where Jihyo outdances Momo by far.

She'll probably be very good since, as a dancer, she has a good body awareness. As a ballet dancer Mina should show better arm movements and have more posture. Her biggest problem is the lack of energy that results in movements without any technique. Main dancer or not, she's mediocre and didn't evolved since debut.

You haven't taken into account their muscle memory and the speed of how fast they can learn dance moves. This ranking is purely based on skill, technicality, and style. But in terms of fast memorization of moves and formation, twice members have already acknowledged Mina as the fastest learner, and can recall dance routines even as early as their debut days. This is extremely helpful in events with limited practice time before shows and concerts. So that's why Mina still deserves the main dancer position a bit more than Jihyo.There's no doubt that if base on performance level, Jihyo is far better, but even though Jihyo has great sense of rhythm , she tends to mess up choreographies more often than other members like forgetting certain moves during shoots and even the members laugh it off during their twice logs and behinfd the scenes. Meanwhile Mina barely messes up and gets choreographies faster than most members. They need Mina's memory skills especially in practicing where the members even revealed Mina helps them alot during practices.

I’m not a dancer so my opinion won’t matter to the technical dancers in the comments but I prefer jihyo’s dancing over momo’s. It looks so much lively to me and more fun to watch. Momo may be a more technical dancer but when it comes to the general audience they don’t care about technicality, they care about performance and Jihyo always puts on a damn good show.

Nah not way better. Also, overdancing doesn’t exist in dance. Jihyo has perfect energy control.

@@alright3675 I don't know what's a "dance" for you. But they were once trainees, and dancing is one of many factors to consider in order to debut as an IDOL. Now, she is one.
It was her actually, who I first noticed among them; I like her energy and aura as a dancer, not so stiff and not so over-energetic. Up to you if you don't see her as deserving of a dance line position. But for us, she's indeed worthy, as a lead dancer at least.
@@alright3675Nah Sana and Jihyo were robbed. In More and More there are several isolations that only Momo, Mina, Sana, and Jihyo got right. The dance break makes it obvious. I think Sana’s inconsistency comes from the fact that if the dance is easier, she’ll put less effort. When it’s a hard dance(M&M), she’ll actually try lol, which isn’t good and she should be putting in the same effort either way but she knows what looks good and what doesn’t. Jihyo’s inconsistency comes from she tries too hard. It looks amazing in high energy songs like DTNA and More and More, and then looks weird in songs like Set me Free or Scientist. TBF i think its her way of telling JYP that Twice suits kore high energy songs bc they all seem to try more with songs like Fancy and ICSM
Yass now throw this ranking to the face of people who claim Jihyo "oVerDancEs" 😩😩🤡🤡🤡✋ seriously the whole overdancing argument is so funny because... almost _ALL_ of the best kpop dancers got accused of overdancing... Dino, Jhope, Jihyo, Boa, Shotaro, Yeonjun, San...the list goes on... People be used to seeing the bare minimum and can't handle it when someone gives them the real thing.

Jihyo and Momo are my ults, they look so good when they dance together, they are like Lily and Haewon but in terms of Dance.

Honestly yeah! I’d flip Momo and Jihyo and then place the rest of the J-Line behind Jihyo in the order of Mina then Sana! The J-Line really has a lot of technique and focus on everything, including some of the small details and Momo really has it all
