I feel so lucky to be able to listen to this... having access to a brilliant mind / very thoughtful and careful, clear teacher through the internet. in my sitting room. An amazing thing.

Thanks Matt, another inspiring and informative talk. Even though I love Teilhard for many years, I do agree that he has blind spots regarding eugenics and ecology. The earth wasn’t suffering so much during his lifetime. Or, for some reason he didn’t realize or imagine that the biosphere can also evolve toward greater perfection through human care/creativity, if we wake up before it’s too late. Maybe when the sun does become too hot, humanity will have the ability/opportunity to find a new home on a spirit realm, or spiritual forces/beings will stabilize our solar system using the superior forces/techniques they certainly must have.

    Excellent. Just excellent.
While I'm very new to studying the works of philosophy, I have done a bit of investigation into biology. I read a few of Margulis's books, whom I think of as one of the greatest of all in the field. I studied the work of Bechamp and his contemporaries, and in the more modern context, have read and studied Mae-Wan Ho, followed Sheldrake's work, and delved a bit into energy medicine.
Your work is such a wonderful weft to my warp. Thank you for helping to bring the pieces together so beautifully!

Damn, you're good. I mean it! I've watched a number of your posts... and thank you so much for sharing your educated insights related to these great philosophies. That being said, we must not overlook one... peculiar elephant-in-the-room , expressed by Whitehead as the human ability to enter into to a state of "conscious immortality." This goes way beyond our known present sciences as well as those of speculative philosophies. Dear Matthew, do you know what it means to be a Mystic? or do you know about the archetypal "The Path of the Mystics"?
Talk to you down the line. Keep up the good work. Tons of love, Charles.

Very interesting paper, Matt....Teilhard sounds like he took the vision of Genesis 1, with humans conquering and mastering the earth, without the vital corrective and supplement of Genesis 2, where humans are meant to work/serve (Heb: la'avod) and guard the earth. It was very biblical of him to be deeply inspired by the image of God in man, but this must be balanced by the Bible's continuing realism concerning the potential for human corruption. The prophets of Israel first foresaw an endpoint of history, but one not reached by a straight line or unfailing progress.

This is beautiful. Will you post the written article for later? I can't wait to read it.

Resurrection could mean a more prominent emergence of the Christ consciousness in all us little people (as a second coming), and that would also provide an Omega point or mass satori event.
