Actually Don, according to Wikipedia, Gadabout's first TV show on fishing was on an experimental TV station in the mid "30s. "The Flying Fisherman" was on in the early 60's. My recollection was that is was on either the Rochester or Syracuse station (the only two stations we could receive at that time) on Saturdays at 12:30pm. As a kid, I made it my mission to be in front of the TV at that time every Saturday to watch that show!
He was one of my menors in learning to fly fish. I loved to watch his show on video on the uss Oriskany during the Vietnam War. PS I learnedbto tie flies in Danang with the help of a young man from Oregon. I wish I remembered his name. Still tying and fly fishing today.

As I commented earlier - that was one of my must-see shows and I watched it religiously.
