     @EmxBrandon Have you tried the Ride or Die fork kit? I'm just curious about the difference in height/length and stiffness... The Mototec upgrade would cost me around $230 with some nice bar clamps and the Ride or Die kits are $325 but include the complete brake kit which is maybe $50 or so. So with prices pretty close, just curious about ride quality and height. Thoughts?

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  9 місяців тому +1

      I havent had them before, but they are ebay forks and most likely very similar to the tdpro forks on my mototec. I believe they offer them in a bunch of lengths? The Mototec is 635mm i think, but the big difference is the fork tube is smaller on the mototec forks 39/42 and the r&d forks are the normal 45/48 so they are alot heavier. If you got good power i prefer more weight, plus they will be alot stiffer than the mototec. But if you want it for a street setup the mototec forks are cushy! I love my rsf650 with the mototec forks, its smooth as butter. Quality is gonna be about the same between them, but the r&d triple tree is alot beefier than the cast mototec triple clamps. If you ride hard id say go with the r&d, when you order through mototec they charge alot for shipping so the prices may end up the same anyways.

    What is a better fork for trail ridding and bumps the mototec or say like fly pig forks or? What do you suggest broth3r

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  Рік тому

      Trail riding you want softer suspension like the mototec, especially with how light the razors are once you start putting on 45/48mm forks they get very stiff which is terrible for trail riding. Definitely recommend the mototec forks if you can get ahold of them!

    • @EmxBrandon

      Yeah! I threw the stock mototec rear shock on the sx! I would definitely recommend buying bigger bolts and drilling the shock tabs bigger though. @@EmxBrandon also what do we need the larger axle for is it for the wheels or the steer tube because i have an mx500 and am thinking we use the stock steer tube axle and then the new axle for the wheel

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  2 місяці тому

      @skibidi269 the 15mm axle is for the steer tube. Since yours is a mx500 it will be longer. You won't be able to use the stock bolt since the triple clamps are much thicker than the steel plates the razors use. You'll need to figure out an adapter to adapt the holes of the mototec clamps to the size bolt youll need. I'm not sure if the crush tube inbetween the bearings of the sx500 headtube will accept a 15mm axle so if you go that route make sure it slides through and you get the correct size. I believe I used a 255mm long one for my rsf 650.

    • @skibidi269
      @skibidi269 2 місяці тому +1

      @@EmxBrandon so do you think the best route to go is buy the 255mm and 15mm axle first to see if it fits and if that fits it will work or is there something else that would need to fit as well?

    • @EmxBrandon
      @EmxBrandon  2 місяці тому

      @skibidi269 yeah I would buy the 15mm axle and worst case find a crush tube that will accept a 15mm inside diameter you can replace on the inside of the headtube. Check out my most recent video with the triple tree adapter youll see how it's supposed to work

  • @EmxBrandon
