The warmth of Margaret came into John's world and not only revived his business, but more importantly, prevented him from totally giving way to his temper in his dealings with people. I was lucky to have watched this series here on UA-cam in its entirety some years ago, and really wish it was still available for everyone to enjoy.

Interesting how the 60 year old bachelor academic sees clearly the chemistry between Margaret and Thornton. I think he was more in tune with Margaret than her parents were. Of course he’d known Thornton for a long time.
