37 years old now and bought one of these things last minute for a nc500 trip about 3 years ago. Got me there and and back with hard driving and a big smile on my face! Sold it shortly after the trip and I’ve never missed a car so much, and I’ve owned all sorts over the years. Bought another as weekend toy running a healthy 192hp with cams and a lsd. Absolutely amazing little car and even by today’s standards because of the weight, you’ll be surprised what cars you can keep up with on the twistys. Keep these clio videos coming 👍🏻
Hi Jamie, I did NC500 last year in the e46 M3 (videos on the channel) we had a fantastic time to but I did say to the misses a Clio sport would have been more suited to the roads with its power/weight/ size combo 😎 Funny cars, they really get under your skin & certainly providing a suitable amount of fun for the cost 👌 Plenty more to come from the little 172 Cup 😬
Great video mate. Hope you're all good too. I had 197 injectors and 182 manifold with the RS2 and andy got it to 203.8 HP. Went like a rocket. I'm booked in with the guys at ED end of February with the megane. Cant wait. Catch you soon pal Loving the cup content. She looks and sounds fantastic
Hey mate, glad you enjoyed the video 😎 Cracking numbers from yours, she was a tidy cup too! Did you have 197 camshafts in it too? (Was a while ago now so can’t recall the full spec) Hoping Andy will invite me back to have a go in the Clio 197 Turbo 😬 Can see why you would go back, chuffed to bits with the service & power out put from the guys at Engine Dynamics 👌
@@stoneautomotive really enjoying the videos mate you've nailed it 💪 I had 438s in mine but timed up to 421 spec. I do miss her at times mate. I absolutely regret not taking her out on track. I bet you cant wait to get the cup out there I'll probably go to the next CS trackday and catch up with you all it's been way to long Will be great when ED get the 197 kit sorted. The new dyno looks mint and what they have done to the workshop looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to the video with the ED 197 when its ready
Cheers mate, always appreciate the feedback and good to hear the channel is moving in the right direction 😬 Upgraded camshafts are still on the radar 👀 Yea that would be cool, been ages since I’ve seen you & a lot of the other Renault Sport guys 👍
I’ve been restoring my 182 and putting it back to factory and am seriously thinking of giving Engine Dynamics a call. On 127,000 miles now and the engines fine, but a bit weepy around box and sump. Fancy getting them to rebuild the engine, nothing special, just a refresh to keep her reliable.
They are the guys to see 👌 As per the video my F4R has now covered 133,000 miles and still going strong - really depends on its life/ usage over the years
Ive had my clio 182 ff 12 years and will never sell her. Used as a daily. Epic cars. I need a refresh on my suspension I think, what would u suggest? She's on eibach springs, they still seem solid.
Good work on the daily use (mine is just a weekend toy these days - it’s a little to hardcore for daily use) If you check out the Clio playlist on the channel I’ve done a video on replacing all the bushes in the front end & fitting Bilstein coilovers but if it’s just a daily driver the standard dampers and Eibach spring are good for road use 👌
Great video I’m up there tomorrow morning early doors to have my 182 mapped... 197 cams 197 injectors Tessa Inlet manifold Full exhaust Larger bore induction kit And a few other bits. Hoping to break the 200 but we shall see!
Thanks Tom & glad you enjoyed the video 😎 I had seen very mixed reviews on Tessa manifold but it certainly sounds like you have the hardware for 200bhp 👌 Engine Dynamics are certainly the guys who will get the best out of the F4R 😎
@@stoneautomotive We shall see, I have too seen some very mixed reviews but I picked it up cheap and wanted to see what it’s all about. Hopefully I can provide some clarity when it’s all done! Thanks mate, glad you got yours sorted in the end! Looks and sounds great👍
@@tomhorwood9629 drop your numbers on comments once it’s done - as mentioned it would be good to put it to bed and see if the Tessa manifold delivers 👍
@@stoneautomotive I will do mate definitely! I will get some feedback in the comments and see if it is anything to rave about. I expect a slight drop in torque in exchange for a bit more up top... I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not🤣 I did have an RS2 same as yours before but someone offered some good money for it so it never went on!
so you have a map plus the RS2 intake and got 194 bhp? that's impressive if those are the only mods (oh and the exhaust but nowadays every mk2 rs has an exhaust :) )
194.8 BHP to be exact 😬 Yep standard engine internals, only other thing on top of the RS2 & 2.5” stainless exhaust/ decat is the standard inlet camshaft has been advanced (this is done when the cambelt change is completed) more details of that in the engine make over video if your interested 👍 Drives really well & with the minimal weight it really shifts along, when you can put the power down in this weather on summer tyres 😅
@@stoneautomotive I have a 182 and the RS2 inlet is quite tempting but the price is a bit higher plus it became hard to find! But deffo on the list if a reasonable priced sh unit pops out :) sounds nuts also !
@@ripptorr it’s certainly not a cheap day out but the good news is if you keep your standard parts the car is easily returned to standard and the RS2 sold on again when your finished 👍 Does make a fantastic noise - more to come from 172 Cup this year 😎
Sadly that’s not the case as I’ve seen it tried and verified on a dyno dynamics rolling road and it didn’t even break 190bhp, the other issue is the 172/182 cylinder head needs work to make the 197/200 inlet fit correctly. Stock 172/182 injectors won’t flow over 200bhp, my injectors were operating at over 92% injector duty cycle on 195bhp
@@stoneautomotive I have 421 cams on my 182 with stock injector and works 95%its around 200-205 bhp I think with 197 inlet and cams you need and 197 injectors
@@μονομάχος-δ4θ sounds like your dyno is reading higher than the Dyno Dynamics rollers I use, as long as you have a before & after on the same dyno you’ll be able to see the gains 👍
@@stoneautomotive I won't too put injector of clio 3 rs with 197 inlet and 421 cams I think goose 205-210 bhp with exhaust cold air intake and reprogramming again
No idea I’m afraid Mike, many factors such as the labour rate, amount of work required to repair & the standard of finish your expecting. I know on my S2000 I was looking at £1,000 minimum per side so soon adds up
