- Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 4-6 from the third chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God".
🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 4:
न कर्मणामनारम्भान्नैष्कर्म्यं पुरुषोऽश्नुते |
न च संन्यसनादेव सिद्धिं समधिगच्छति || 4||
na karmaṇām anārambhān naiṣhkarmyaṁ puruṣho ’śhnute
na cha sannyasanād eva siddhiṁ samadhigachchhati
🔴 Man does not achieve freedom from works by abstention from them. None attains perfection through the mere renunciation of works, either.
🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 5:
न हि कश्चित्क्षणमपि जातु तिष्ठत्यकर्मकृत् |
कार्यते ह्यवश: कर्म सर्व: प्रकृतिजैर्गुणै: || 5||
na hi kaśhchit kṣhaṇam api jātu tiṣhṭhatyakarma-kṛit
kāryate hyavaśhaḥ karma sarvaḥ prakṛiti-jair guṇaiḥ
🔴 None indeed, even for a moment, remains without doing work. All, being dependent, are made to work by the constituents of Prakrti.
🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 6:
कर्मेन्द्रियाणि संयम्य य आस्ते मनसा स्मरन् |
इन्द्रियार्थान्विमूढात्मा मिथ्याचार: स उच्यते || 6||
karmendriyāṇi sanyamya ya āste manasā smaran
indriyārthān vimūḍhātmā mithyāchāraḥ sa uchyate
🔴 Controlling the organs of action, he who lets his mind dwell on their objects has a confounded mind; he is said to be a hypocrite.

ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT US
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

5th verse/ sloka 36:58
6th verse/ sloka 48:08
' Thank you ' is a very inadequately petty word to express my bountiful gratitude to you. Your words have helped me transform myself rather metamorphosize myself. I am at peace and blissful. Thakur o Mayer oshim kripa onubhob kori je apnar moton Maharajer kotha shunte parchi.
Thanks to the online platform
Thank you guru for explaining in a wide manner which opens our mind …we are lucky to find you as a guru 🙏🕉
Excellent discourses of Bhagavad Gita with sloka, summary, liberal quotes of eastern and western spiritual masters and scholars as well examples and experiences of self, at times laughters too!! A fine flow and pleasant communication of very complex subject 👏✌️💐. Blessed to listen 🌼 Pranams to Swamiji 🙏

Till here. Every lecture is a gem. Keeps on adding to the clarity. Earlier I had made it a point to mark the best and most insightful lectures but in these series all the lectures are just too practical and helpful.

Pranam Swamiji.
A humble request. Can you kindly make a video, clarifying the 3 gunas- tamasik, rajasik and sattvik.
Or , if there is a video already on this, if I can kindly be informed about it.
Search for "Decoding the Chandi". It's all about gunas. Amazing explanation.
