You've pretty much summarized my feelings about China over the past 10 years. Things have not changed since my first trip in 2007. I'm glad you can have a balance view and appreciate the good while still being critical of the bad. I'm glad you were very specific. I'm sure you will help prepare someone for the future. You look gorgeous btw!
Oh my gosh this was so perfect lol. I love you! I'm Jamaican-American (Yankee born lol) But sis.. You hit EVERY mark. I remember visiting China with my class and some of these reasons are why I ended up doing my longer study abroad in Japan (...which had similar issues and its own ridiculousnesses lol). The constant touching, staring, and racism- aaagh. There are many things to like about both China and Japan, but these big issues make it very hard as a black woman to want to be there.
I was told by the china visa office that VPNs are illegal in China. Although everyone uses it, if you get caught you can get fined 😥 this sucks because I will be there for the entire summer and it is the only way that I can communicate with people back home.
@@marielafallie4251 Wow that is what you took from that comment? That's very sad but to each it's own. Love and respect to all. If it doesn't impact your life after 5 minutes it's not worth giving too much attention.
I have to say, you just confirmed everything I suspected about China in terms of racism. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! You probably would have had an easier time in Japan or even Taiwan.
This video was very insightful. I want to teach overseas and China seemed like a good place and I'm not knocking it but I'll be talking my baby with me and I can't have us getting sick so frequently and the racism is another big one for me plus the staring lol. Cute top by the way!
@@shaniquebaker5034 oh ok...is it a fact that you need an invitation from there or you need a business license? Can't I just apply independently as a tourist with hotel reservation etc?
China seems like N Korea lite especially with the blocked websites. Also I get starred at in Jamaica constantly and I've been there multiple times. Maybe I dress to foreign.🤷🏿♂️
