I also recommend "Jan Hus" and "Jan Žižka" movies. They are prequels to this. It's about Jan Hus (czech scholar and priest) who was burned alive as a heretic. It caused a revolution against catholic church in medieval Czech republic. Hussites were named after him. Jan Žižka is about Hussite military leader. Both films are good. This one is the third from whole trilogy.

@@lollikabosso.w.n7153 not really. It was a factor yes. But during Charles IV there were golden times in Bohemia, but after he died instability came to our lands. There were some years with not-so-great harvests, profits from silver mining dropped, roads became less safe and the king was in constant warfare with other nobles and his brother. Also, schism happened and pope had to gain coin somehow so he raised prices for everything and established paying indulgences. And I guess the sacking of Kuttenberg really didn't help either. It was a combination of factors.
Patterson, many thanks for uploading all of these clips, as normally my only access to information concerning the history of ancient armies came from history books.... one in particular ( as far as my Hussite/Taborite knowledge goes ) is by Duncan Head, and is circa 1980. It has decent but fairly simple depictions of the the Hussite army, but film depiction helps give me a better understanding It's cool to finally see it depicted on film I have always been pretty damned impressed by their war wagons, and the wagon forts they would form up in. Though ultimately doomed, they showed that, with competent and strong leadership, a common cause, and stout hearts born from hard living, even the filthy Peasant can be a dangerous foe indeed. Unsure just how accurate the depiction of Zizka is, but if it's close, then I can easily see why he was successful.... he gives me the feeling that he didn't command, he inspired and guided, that he was a pretty down to earth type of guy who bonded with his troops.
