Old Pueblo Coin
57 w pink paper possible submission coins and the purple Roosevelt, gold toned franklin my fav
I love seeing these great old sets, Ben. Thanks so much for sharing this…
Hello from Russia, Ben! I love your channel, as well as the US coins (especially Miss Liberty in all her personifications). Thank you for the inspiring videos!
Hey, thanks!
I never knew fourth class postage actually existed!
From what I could see, in the mint sets, the nickes s disappear to have full steps. Some really nice toning for sure. I'm so glad that you appreciate toning!
Grant's Hobby Shop, I remember that. Hey Ben, Providence in 1952 is where and when I entered the world. Wish my father had been a numismatist!
I love cardboard toning. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely amazing! I could watch this all day
Time capsules like that are really fun to see. Thanks for sharing!
Love this type of content. Love to see OGP and the Toners 🤤
Very cool and rare sets.
I agree about those 50s nickels. Can't find a 1953 S that I like to save my life.
I know ZERO about coins, and don't really have an interest in collecting them, but for some reason, I find this channel interesting. Ben makes it so. Until I started watching this channel, I never knew that "toning" was a thing on coins. I always thought it was 100% condition (and rarity or scarcity) that mostly dictated value. But color? Toning? I had never heard of such a thing. I guess that would be like patina on antique furniture lol Cool Stuff.👍
Thanks for hanging out with us. You can be our only viewer who doesn’t collect coins- like a vegan out hunting with friends :)
@@TheCoinGeek 😆😆🤣 Yes!
I could watch these kind of videos for hours, honestly ! The surprise is worth a fortune especially when a 1953-S mint set has FBLs on the half. Great video Ben from the last train to Clarksville.
Ben is always trying to school us on coins and currency. There might be a test at the end so pay attention.. 😆
Thanks Ben, I'm always amazed and learning.
Hey, Ben. Cool sets to view. I think that one set that was sold for less was missing two coins. Some of the denominations had P-D-S, but a couple only had P-D. Hope to see you at the Tucson Coin Show this Saturday!
It will be nice to see you. Bring a friend . If you want a CAC sample show up early Saturday
Very nice coins Ben!
Thanks 👍
These 1950s mint sets are among my favorite things to buy. Occasionally someone will actually sell full sets that haven't been cherrypicked on eBay, but increasingly rare.
I didn't know old mint sets came in chipboard holders! The oldest one I have is from 1964, but it's in a pair of soft plastic holders with plastic Philly and Denver tokens
I’m glad you learned something new
Yes i love old stuff
The toning is caused by the sulfur in the paper.
I knew 1950-1955 sets came in that fragile cellophane with that nasty nasty staple, but I always thought they were shipped in a small box (hence the name "Box Sets") and not just in a padded envelope. I've been collecting for 50 years and you taught me something new!
It cracks me up that you actually sang part of that song..I had to go listen to it again for fun. 😅 good job though.
Now turn it into a soundbite and set it as your text notification. Lol
😂
Careful not to crack your ears up listening
Very beautiful coins 😍
Low mintage sets and survivability is even worse due to the Franklin FBL mania and monster-toned coins being pulled out for grading. Leo Frese wrote an article a few years back, he believes less than 30% of these sets survive intact. These sets command a premium if you have all the boards, the inner and outer envelopes and no coins have been removed. Obviously, I like these sets.
Nice sets!
Catching some bids on the two 49 boards, someone wants those 49-S Franklins...
It would be "fun" to send these coins in for grading and see how many came back questionable color or artificial toning. 😀
mr boombastic for sure!
That 57 quarters toning looks like a space field, wow! 🌌
I see the 57 set is not on eBay 😭
Sorry- I think the engineer grabbed it for grading
Hi Ben. I like the 49 and 55 sets. I like all the nickels in all the sets. The 57 and 58 sets are beautiful. I like the 48 set. Get the coins away from the staples! *------------------>* 🦉 🔔
Also, of course, on the 54 nickel look for the double die reverse it only shows the steps tilted down on the left. Also, the S. over D.
The 1951 set is really Nice. You might want to grade that set. and the 1941
To pull a 58 DDO. Lincoln… oh boy…
I love the subliminal messaging on your backdrop there. 🙂
WOW 😳
Some beautiful coinage Ben !!
The 52P and 55P sets are my favorite with their toning and sharpness , the dimes in the pink paper 57 set , 49S Benji are pretty darn awesome sauce as well 😎😎
Would you try to remove any toning before sending in for grading or submit as is ?
These weren't cheap I'll bet .
I feel like I just saw like 6-7 of these on eBay... They were out of my price range to say the least. I would definitely try to submit some of those.
I’ve seen lots of partial sets sell for what I consider to be not tooo much money-
But some get hot and sell high
Oh yeah a 52 mint set !
B.S. but at least it is interesting content.... Keep it up Ben we need this distraction from bleak reality...... Thank you
Hey Ben
🏆
Kevin is on fire
Thanks Ben
WE ALL LOVE YOU BEN!!!!!!!!! Q: HOW HIGH CAN A COIN GRADE IN MS BROWN?
It's unbelievable how hard it is to fine images or videos on these original packages. So many have been open sorted and repackaged into smaller sets or fake sets. I was wondering about the proof sets. Like 1957 proof set. Were those in similar packages or just shipped in a single mylar in an envelope
Hey Ben! I just remembered something i think you said... in a video or a live not long ago I think you said you were going to do a video on the "every man" registry sets and how they are affecting the market... If so please do, I am really interested in that, thanks!
I would also be interested in such a video!
PLEASE send some in Ben……
Why are there two coins for each mint on a card? At first I thought it was so both sides could be displayed but that didn’t seem to be the case. Maybe I’m just missing something simple?
I would like to buy the 1949 s mint set. Is UT for sale?
were in the US. no pennies just cents.
SECOND!
*FIRST THUMB UP!!!*
The nickels in that 1958 set are very weakly struck. I wish you had popped at least some of the coins out of the holders to get a look at the opposite sides.
I’m always worried that the backs will pop through on those .
It’s a problem I’ve had in the past. Thank you.
