My cub cadet 1045 is 14 years old only changed oil and clear air filter and belt and spark plug and battery has 121 hrs on motor add carb cleaner to gas each year . When the motor is cold it’s sometimes hard to crank so I will do what you showed us in video . Great video I will look on Amazon thank you

First off, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!! GREAT JOB ON THE VIDEO AS WELL. YOU DID A GOOD JOB SHOWING HOW ITS DONE. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK.
That solenoid is an anti Back fire valve ,all it does is block main jet to stop raw fuel from exploding in the muffler when engine is turned off. Fuel from float bowl will still spill into engine if float sticks. Install a cut off valve in fuel line. If solenoid stops working ,take it off and snip the shaft off . The windings tend to burn out fast in the china replacement carburetors.
I don't disagree, and usually clean the OEM components. But even after cleaning the jet, emulsion tube, needle and seat, and what even passages I could get a torch tip cleaner in, still a no go. So, a cheap replacement was in order, especially for a tractor with over 500 hrs on it.
Just bought one of these and the engine is hard to start and idle to full throttle is only an 18" movement it seams to over rev also. So I'm going to do the same replacement you just showed us. Thank you. One question did you have to make any adjustments to the carb or just bolt it on and fire it up.. thanks again!
Could sea foam solve any carb issues? That's if your able to use sea foam on this gas engine. I really think that all old gas must be burnt off before the winter or drained out going into the Spring. That's if old gas sitting for over 4 months could gum up the fuel pump.
It may if run all the time, I've used it in large vehicles with varying levels of success. And you are correct, if you could run it dry that would be best, since the ethanol content in the fuel leaves a white residue in there when the fuel sits for a long time. After time, it build up and clogs passages. On my small engines, I try tu run them out of fuel before long term storage.
@@mehlsmountaingarage I try once year in buying the non-ethanol for my car and small engines. The real gas has a little self lube for the engines to lower wear and tear. Hopefully burn away the ethanol content.
Nice work on the video. 1) My carb is leaking massively. Could be the float not working. I’ll plan to replace the whole carb. Agree? And 2) Good editing. What app do you use for editing? And do you use your phone for recording?
Have you tried cleaning the bowl? The carb was cheap, so I just bought a new one after cleaning it a few times. Yes, I used my phone, and I used vllo for the editing.
@@mehlsmountaingarage Thanks. I got the kit because my carb is 11 years old, and cleaning it didn't fix it, also I could use the filters, etc. I could not figure out how to get to the bowl. I imagine I needed to remove the sensor below it, but it would not come off.
@@HopkinsChannel same thing happened to me, cleaning didn't help. The solenoid holding the bowl on sometimes get seized, and often broken when trying to remove. The carb is cheap enough to buy. Good luck!
If you dont have a dude like this in you're life, you're lost. Thank you for you're sevice
I appreciate, thank you for the comment!
Thanks for this video. We also have this mower as a hand me down, and I'm doing my best to keep it running.
You are so welcome! I am glad they are helping. I have a few more videos coming for this mower series.

Thank you for watching, my Cub Cadet has almost 550hrs on now, so it does require some regular maintenance. Hope you get yours sorted out!
What kind of carb cleaner do you add to your gas?

Awesome info! Thank you so much! I never though to just snip it.
Great DIY video Man appreciate your effort 👍
Thank you, I appreciate you watching and giving feedback!
great vid bud. thank you
Thank you!
I wouldn't use any of that stuff from scamazon. Grt some wire brushed and clean the tubes and nozzles.

I hope my video helps! I did not make ny carb adjustments, I just bolted in on and it ran good so I left it alone.
What is the part in front dip stick hole with the ground wire on top? I broke off the tab.
On the Cub Cadet or the golf cart?
